awesome plane, big, comfy, quite, even the air u breath in the cabine is PURE! i have flewn this a380 twice.with emirates from london to dubai! ppl who talk shit about this plane are just jealous or they never puttd their ass on a airbus befor :)
compare a normal aircraft to the Airbus A380,compare the interior and exterior, trust me you would go maaddd, ive been in the Airbus Aw30 trust me its amazing !!!
@iLoveBlocPartyJK Just like the Concorde, Americans hated it too, just because it was European. Just because Europe had an supersonic passenger plane, they wanted one too, but failed in creating one because they where too ambitious and (ofcourse) wanted it to be bigger and faster.
@iLoveBlocPartyJK I dont know a single person here (in America) that hates the A380. Granted most have never even heard of it, but everyone thats into aviation and has heard of it thinks its a really cool aircraft.
I totally agree! Europe buys tons of F16, but when the US thinks about buying one European tanker...there is panic^^ It is always funny, how Europe is perceived as an economic threat, while 20% of US imports come from China^^
@iLoveBlocPartyJK Boeing for100 yrs has been a profitable company,it's not propped up by the Gov. Boeing built the Bombers saved chickenshit France . Built parts of the Space Shuttle, satellites, rockets, cruise missiles, hydrofoil ferries, frigates,Helicopters,
V-22 osprey,AWACS radar defense,GPS satellites,F-22 raptor,International space station,Ground mobile radios,Air tankers,B-52,B1 lancer,C-17,c,130,F-15,F-18AND AIR FORCE ONE! Airbus is a jr baby that makes a couple airliners. LMFAO!!
@silverboots000 Would be a bit scary if the landing was not intentional don't you think? Trying to stay cruising at 40.000ft but the bird landed instead. lol
give the pilot a break, its the first time that bird touched down on Heatrow, and i think there where no passengers aboard,so maybe its also testing its systems.
Airbus are doing today what Boeing did in the sixties. It took them 40 years to make something bigger. That's not innovating. In my opinion Boing are still far ahead, I mean, look at what they're doing with the 787, now that's innovation.
The first thing I though was wow what a shitty landing. haha Glad to see everyone else agrees. I still favor the Boeing 787. The Boeing 787 is a beautiful aircraft inside and out. This airbus seams like a good plane but is obviously hard to land and the fuel used in that thing my god talk about a metric shit ton lol also it is ugly as hell on the outside. The inside looks beautiful however.
Naisi, you say there has never been a plane crash resulting from computer failure? Please keep in mind Air France 296 26th June 88 that crashed due to a software issue before you make statements like that. Never say Never
American made aircrafts isnt safe. Only thing Americans care is money, not safety. 70% of all aircraft accidents are caused of American made planes. European planes are more safe, but they are more expensive and less popular in aircraft companies. Finn air buys these expensive planes and it can be seen on aircraft accident countings. Finn Air have never been on accident which have killed people.
@ronny4ever123 747-8 is a cheap and boring replacement for the classic 747-400 series in my mind's eye. Boeing did not want to invest in an all new 747 replacement as it was seen too risky a business venture. I applaud Airbus once again for taking the risk and pushing the envelope in terms of innovation and design. I think Airbus have pushed aviation 20 years into the future whereas Boeing is still tinkering with a 1960's old rusted antique 747 design.
@fachy1981 the 747 has already benn an enormous success. why risk making an entirely new plane of it might not be succesful or worse, not even a very safe plane. You saw that landing. like a said before in another comment I made, bigger and newer is not always better.
@fachy1981 Ha ha your funny you should go into comedy. 380? innovation? What is so innovative about it? Nothing. It is just a huge plane, thats all. Its basically a 340 with 2 decks, thats it. Do you want innovation? try the 787, that is a truly new and unique design that will take aviation to a new era. You, my fiend sounds like you know nothing about airplanes.
airbus a380 is good, but i think the boeing 747-8i will be beter... and i like the 747 more than the a380 the 747 is much more a queen and always will be the queen of the skyes
Boeing 747 is out. This aircraft is going to beat the fuck out of Boeing. Good work France and Great Britain. Just like General Motors got bashed by the Japanese, Boeing will also be bashed by the British and French. Obama should throw thr 747 in the garbage or give it free to a homeless person on the road as a free house the Air Force One. Obama should get the A380 and travel the world in class.
A laptop keyboard and a gaming joystick. Just what I want to think about when I'm 20 miles up over the Atlantic ocean in mid-winter. People's lives in the hands of software developers? F**K THAT! Windows crashing is one thing, blue screen of death on an aeroplane is another. I think it's insane.
Luckily, these planes are developed by people with a lot more capacity on their brains than you feature. People who tend to think that software that reacts to human interference is the safest way to fly a plane. And one would believe that they are right when considered that 90% of all plane crashes result from human failure. There has never been and will never be a plane crash resulting from computer failure if the computer has been rightly adjusted by the pilot.
@naisi, The clue is in your last sentence "if the computer has been rightly adjusted by the pilot" Given that most pilots are chronic alcoholics, I don't have any faith in their ability to walk in a straight line let alone input the correct data. There is nothing and I mean NOTHING that you could teach me about computers, It's part of my business and the failure rate is catostrophic which is the reason why pilots hate new planes. If you were panicked would you rather input data or pull a stick?
@naisi Maybe if you had mixed with Lufthansa/BA/Al Italia aircrews at their turnaround points in the Middle East and attended their famous "barbecues" like I did for years, and watched the captains checking out of the hotel 2 hours after passing out in a pool of their own vomit barely able to stand, maybe then you'd change your mind. I was very comfortable flying round the world for years until I started mixing with cabin crew. One long party. There's only one kid here and I'm afraid it's you.
imagine how long it takes everybody to deplane form that thing. Deplaning a 777 fully loaded can be a nightmare, imagine what this must be like. Is there a limit ot how bigger we can make aircraft. IF we could make a runway 10 times wider than we currently have and make engines 10 times the size of what we have would they still fly at subsonic speeds if given large enough wings. Why not make an aircraft 5 times the size of the a380. would it be possible with the right engines?
Technically there is now limit on how far we can go, if equipped with large enough wings and engines literally anything can fly.
Planes however are limited to a 80 by 80 meter box, larger aircraft cannot be handled by airports. The A 380 only fits in this limit because it has wingtip fences, otherwise its wings would be too long.
But theoretically, if we would redesign our airports, we could make planes may times as big.
The main problem is there will be no demand for it.
Infact the plane performs excellent in crosswinds. However poor to ok in windsheers. He did a manual landing though, should have used the autoland though.
I love everyone saying it was a bad landing. Did you notice the size of the plane?? You think it's gonna glide down gently like a bird or something? LOL!
I think Airbus is exagerating a bit their plane size, this shows how bad the plane performs with a crosswind and I bet this isin't a pilot with 4,000 hrs on turbines, it has to be a veteran pilot to keep this plane in one piece in this landing, lots of ruder to control it, lots of ailarons to keep it leveled, too heavy and the wings can give you a heart atack if you're seating on the window next to them... I wouldn't fly in it, not even for free
I don't know where you got that from, but the a380 has a wingspan of about 80 meters. A football field in the NFL is 110 meters. The Hughes H-4 Spruce Goose has a wingspan of 98 meters, which is the longest in the world. Than its the AN-225 Mriya with 89 meters. After that its the a380 800.
Crosswind. There is an approach video of that landing around, there you can see clearly it's flying sideways. And that would be one of the first crosswind landings done on the A380, no wonder it was a little choppy.
The 747 may be a little long in the tooth but, it's a far more graceful beauty than this Airbus.

kaferere 1 year ago
Please go play elsewhere, kid. This is simply childish, pilots are no more alcoholics than any other occupational group.
Pilots who fly large computerized jets are highly trained professionals, as is anyone who designs such an aircraft.
A plane has multiple systems for each purpose, the failure of one is in no way an issue for the passengers security.
The probability of a multiple system failure is lower than zero. One in two million flights crashes, this rate is this low for a reason.

spelling-0 your fail-1, and boeing has a better history of aviation, and the largest fleet of aircraft used in every country

That landing was really shaky. Boeing 747 is better! Go Boeing!

Dear All,
I have some question about psychology:
*Why do we love flying and enjoy being in the sky?
*why do we want to design and build new aeroplanes?
Besides, Why do we relate freedom and success with flying?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!!

It's too big! When it landed the wings bent and flopped around
omnidroid70 2 years ago
most big planes do that. When a plane lands it is like when u slam ur hand dowwn on a table ur arm wiggles.

THAT WAS AN UGLY LANDING
futurepilot2394 2 years ago 14
Crosswind. There is an approach video of that landing around, there you can see clearly it's flying sideways. And that would be one of the first crosswind landings done on the A380, no wonder it was a little choppy.
