Thank you so much! That is such a wonderful compliment coming from a dude! I've never heard of Peep Show so maybe? For sure he comes out in Blue's Clues though. Glad you liked it! :0)
Is gumpaste much more expensive than sugarpaste/fondant where you live? I'm from England and its around five times as expensive, aybe not everywhere but all the places iv'e ever looked at! It makes it so hard to make anything out of it and charge a reasonable price! Great cake by the way, Paprika shaker thing is soooo cute!
HI! To be honest with you, I'm not too sure about the cost of gumpaste because I never buy it. I bought it ONE time and never again because I didn't like it AT ALL! I remember when I bought it, it was a tiny little bag and it wasn't cheap. Try making your own by mixing the cheap Wilton fondant with tylose powder. Aine2 here on YouTube has a GREAT tutorial on how to make it. She's on my friends list. Thank you and I'm glad you liked this cake! :0)
Omg!! I just don't have the words to let you know how amazed I am with your work, you are just awesome, fantastic.. I love your work and thanks for sharing all of this with us. Keep it up!
What do you use to hold your 2 tier cakes together with? Are you able to tell me the brand and maybe where you get them? Even though I live in Australia, haha, I'm still curious ;) There's always place selling things online! ;) Thanks loads Laura!!
Sure! It's just a long thin wooden dowel that is maybe about a 1/4 cm wide. You should be able to get them at any craft store. i pay like 60cents for each 3 foot long one. :)
@laurapoopie Thanks so much! Now a stupid question: what are the 9 things in the middle of the bottom tier of your cakes? I've noticed them in a few of your videos now - it's before you put the top tier on. If you don't mind me asking? :) Thanks!!
Not a stupid question AT ALL! They are FAT BOBA STRAWS. I use them instead of cake dowels. They are very strong, easy to cut, and sooooooo inexpensive. I buy them in bulk off of ebay. :)
Another great cake Laura. I love the tire swing you added to the tree that stood out to me for some reason. I thought it looked really cute. Well everything was really cute. Glad you like your new airbrush. BTW what kind of buttercream do you use?
Thank you Gina! I kinda liked the little tire too! LOL! :) Glad you liked this cake! I use Tonedna's buttercream recipe. You can find it on her channel or on her website. :)
simply adorable....i just got an airbrush gun myself and i am very excited to use it i just want to say thank you for allowing me to duplicate your tiara i had it completed and it is still drying i cant wait to use the airbrush!

Why didnt you use modeling chocolate for the figures instead of gum paste?
Kesha0o0 1 year ago
Gumpaste is my preference because it completely solidifies.

How much do you usually charge for your cakes?
EnjoyingLife100 1 year ago
The prices vary a lot. I charge per slice and it all depends on how it's decorated. I charge anywhere from $5 to $15 per slice. :0)
