You're probably thinking of the "Urban Heat Island Effect". It's been well accounted for.

The north pole is getting hotter faster primarily because there's more meltable ice which is dramatically decreasing the northern hemisphere's albedo compared to the southern hemisphere

The most reliable are satellite measurement, like ERBE.

The evidence was, coincidentally enough, was just presented to me in my natural science course at my university (york in toronto). there are concrete stats that do not link humans directly to gb. the earth was cooling and warming with even higher fluctuations long before we got here. the increases in temp today are extremely minor. temperatures could rise anywhere from 1.6% to about 5% by 2100

The problem with Hansen's data collected at weather stations (historical) is that many of these sites are inappropriate for weather data, or the data itself is corrupted because of a changing or expanding urban environment.

And as we see from current News, ClimateGate has involved NASA itself in cooking books (or models) to reflect a political (not scientific) agenda.

When the science itself is coerced by man, it's difficult to describe mans influence on climate.

I have to agree with this. I'm not a CC denier, but I have done my research into the data collection and believe that it's somewhat unreliable. Temperature data from hundreds of thousands of years ago is taken via ice core samples and the abundance of heavier isotopes is measured. Yet temperature data currently is studied via ground stations. If the scientists want to debunk these CC deniers once and for all they need to find a way to get consistent and fluid data.

It doesnt take a climate model to show the earth is warming. My whole family has noticed it. Over the last 15 years here in Virginia we all have noticed the winters going from cold to mild, and the summer going from Hot to Very hot.

However that is 15 years, the earth is what billions of years old. So alot could say its just natural and having data and models from 1990 to 2007 shows nothing. Because its a small portion of time, for all we know it could get cold in the next 10 years..

2) Climate is also taken with multiple years into account because of year to year variation and to account for solar cycles.
