Great recipe, Buck! I eat protein pancakes almost every morning. Sometimes, if I want some extra calories, I add coconut oil into the mix. Coconut oil is also great for digestion.
i have a sensitivity to lactose... is there any good meals to help digest small amounts of lactose? i am trying to transition to becoming vegitarian but i still want to drink milk or eat stuf with dairy in it but i cant eat alot or i get nausea and all that. i have IBS so ya
@tylerwalker2 You can use "lactase" to help digest lactose. Notice the difference in spellings when you shop for it. I would tell you what I use but I don't want to promote any certain health food store's products unless they pay me :)
Yes I cook the eggs. Also because when you eat tons of protein you can have problems with BM so this helps. It's natural and does not cause problems at all.
Psyllium is a very potent laxative. If you have it every day, doesn't your body start to rely on it -- that is, when you *don't* have psyllium, regardless of what you're eating, you get all constipated?
@queenofcrows It's fiber. Yes, the more fiber you eat, the more your body gets used to. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't be eating tons of fiber, that's silly. Most men need about 30-35g of fiber per day.
@StudioSkary You're right -- people do need to eat lots of fibre. Most fibre (veggies, bran) is non-water-soluble. Non-soluble fibre adds bulk which keeps things from clogging up.
Psyllium is a *water-soluble* fibre laxative. It digests into a goo which mildly irritates and stimulates the intestines. Like other laxatives, it's addictive. When I worked at a health food store, I had a few customers who took it daily -- when they ran out, they got mighty grouchy, as they literally could not 'go'.
@queenofcrows You need both! Daily. Most veggies & fruits & grains provide the perfect mixture of both. It's not "addictive". If you get 60g of fiber daily from fruit and veggies and then suddenly stop, you'll be mighty grouchy as well, trust me. ;)

I ate almost the same breakfast this morning.
I actually crack the eggs into the oatmeal while it's cooking, just at the end. And I added a tablespoon of cinnamon
