Just have to echo the sentiments of many others here. He's an amazing man and I've been very privileged not only to see him play several times, but to meet him (and even helped him load his amp into his famous van after one show), and I can honestly say he's an incredibly genuine and humble man, and one of my all-time heroes, not only on the bass, but in life.

I just saw him on Henry Rollins last night (show was from 2007 when he was there with The Stooges) and when they were interviewing them, he looked like he had just had a stroke or something. I know he was sick several years ago, but I didn't think it messed him up that much. Anybody know what that was about?

The anchor is a cross of protection...well, to me.
Anyway, I think Mike should do video blogs pretty regular, because he has as much to say as he does to play..., and when you can see him saying it, you get the eyes and the whole dig, and it's true. He's like the rest of us...ain't perfect... but how he tries, the way he tries is just the kind of thing this world needs to see.

Mike's dad was a Navy nuke boiler guy. He wears that anchor I think in honor of his father and some of his songs reflect that. Best punk bass player ever...
