Wow they sang great for cartoon characters - yes I'm kidding I know they were really just studio musicians and singers and probably some of the best assembled at that time.
@SPQSpartacus She is selling kisses, silly. And these kisses are so sweet they're like candy ... they're so sweet they're like honey ... she is selling kisses so sweet!! That's what she's selling. :))
my uncle worked for a company that repaired jukebox and pin ball machines when I was a kid he always had a jukebox and pinball machine in his basement we wore that record out
Was a great time...July 1969 was when "Sugar, Sugar" first came out. II was 14 years old and kissed my first short-lived girlfriend for the first time! Later that summer another girl showed me the ropes. I'll never forget the summer of 1969...moon landing, girlfriends, baseball, mom's home cooking, paper route, and a whole lot more.
yea man. The Wonder Years was perhaps the best show on TV ever. It truly captured the magical times of our youth. In '69, i was two and my parents allowed me to run naked at folk festivals. i'm not sure if i should be mortified or thankful for allowing us kids to be free. good times indeed.
I rememebred this song since i was like 4, i used to sing it to my self, now im 15 and its strange, as i hav'nt seen i since but i still know all the words

i really love this music...i want to go back in time...i want to experience the life back in the old days and the lead singer of this song is kindda cute.... ^_^ i really love old songs
Ahhh back in the old days when things were so innocent............It's funny I still have a kind of " crush " on " Veronica " ( black long hair - red dress ). Regards.
Remember sat morning cartoons? Remember Schwinn bicycles and friends and easy bake ovens if you were a girl. Remember when things made sense? It makes me sad because I remember them and when I look at what they,ve been replaced with, it is NOT the same. It never will be.
@oneleggedspider Yes, I remember all of those. I had a green Schwinn, watched nice Sat morning cartoons, and had all the games, like Battling Tops, Mousetrap, etc. I liked Easy Bake oven, and I wanted one or went to friends' houses who had them. Life was great then, even considering world events.
Lupo059-How can you call Hip Hop trash? Many rap lyricists have been considered as great poets of their time such as Tupac and Canibus. Not all of their music is about 'bitches&ho's',if you took the time to listen to their music you would know this. They rap about struggles that you clearly are lucky enough not to have been through. Yes,I love how happy this song makes me and the talent that was taken to produce it, but to disrespect an entire genre of music in that manor is just ignorance.
@jessegrd071163 can agree all that you wrote there, exept for God bless america, cause usa do so much bad that God hate americe, but if you said God bless Norway i will agree with you!
True! I was eight years old when I first heard this song. I was attending elementary school at a private Catholic school in Mexico City. I now live in California, and I still enjoy this song. One of a kind! It is very "catchy"
All bubblegum music had a hidden agenda, in amongst the sugar coated confection jungleof these songs, roamed a long uncircumsised snake called S E X. Relisten to the lyrics, its disgusting, sugar is pussy, honey is semen. Your are my candy girl (Hoe). Its pretty graphic
Even if what you say is true, why is it disgusting? Don't you like the long uncircumsised snake of S E X? Plus, you have failed to explain the significance of certain obvious facts: What's with the dog's long, warm tongue, and its licking of the face? How does this fit into your theory? Does the $1 for kisses imply some prostitution? When Archie turns into a rabbit, does that mean pregnancy? I agree it is graphic; not kid's stuff!!!
I totally agree, its clever marketing all right and it was there for people 2 get freaky 2. However this music was specifically aimed at kids and sounded like groups The Banana Splits, The Monkees and Evolution Revolution. Nothing wrong with it, I love the drug references in The Magic roundabout as well
What a great song...just compare and contrast to all the trash of hip hop that plagues radio today...just think, no gangs, no guns, no "btchs" no "hos" no correctional mentality lyrics...that's how it was then...
@Lupo059 .. We could do that, or we could compare it to the pop folk that we have these days instead... which would... you know, make a lot more sense.

@twathead2005 Lets get one thing straight rap is not music and it is not poetry. It was put here for one reason.....MONEY. They make a fortune off of it to ill informed idiots that don't have the mental capacity to appreciate real music. Most of the real music I am referring to is dead these days. You would have to be ignorant to appreciate rap or hip hop and not have appreciation for jazz or soul music. Hip hop and rap deserves to be disrespected. It insults my intelligence.

@MikeHF That is both true & unfair; Rap is crap now b/c $ feared Tupac Shakur w/upset status quo-They drowned him out by throwing $ at thug rap garbage to ensure that the lower class stays low. Pac was calling for the black community to stop killing each other & aspire higher. Pac was intelligent, educated, eloquent & spoke of revolution via poetry set to hip hop, jazz, rock, blues, reggae, calypso, even classical . I thought as you do b4 my bf made me listen 2Pac rap- One even made me cry
@MikeHF If ur willing 2 give it a try, you may find that Tupac rap will not insult your intelligence but challenge your thinking instead. (& u may need someone to translate the slang - I'm black and my white bf was explaining some of it to me, but it is clear even with minimal understanding of the slang and a little tolerance of the f-bomb that his stuff is on a different level altogether. Now rap/hip hop must evolve to a higher level to match what it started as. Pity.
@MikeHF btw - ur definitely correct in that most music is dead now. The recording industry has been killing it for more than a decade now, but I have hope. I have found some interesting things online and if the greed cannibalizes its own then there is a chance for an excellent recovery in its wake.
@Lupo059 but it's not now.... face facts, we are living in the time of the end just like Jesus stated it would be like, just like you said.. hatred, no love for one another, people turning away from the bible.. just as in Noahs day the badness of men was increasing as it is now.
