That is definately an HKS 51RSPL turbo under the hood! If not then its a very similar turbo. They have a very unique sound to them and its MIIIIIIINT :)

sounds like an rb26 to me. and yes the awd system runs off the attessa computer. if you pull the fuse then the front wheels will not kick in making it essentially rear wheel drive. this apparently only works on the r32's though although i have never owned a 33 or 34 so can't say for sure from experience.

You can also turn the key off and back on while the car is rolling to turn off AWD. You then have to come to a stop for it to reset back to AWD. R32's only, later models have some preload on the AWD clutch, so even if you manage to electrically make it RWD, you are burning the clutch up everytime you spin the rears. Best to remove front shaft on 33's and 34's.

All GTRs are predominantly RWD untill the RWD slips thus enabling transfer case to transfer up to 50% of the torque to the front diff thats where they get their AWD from. You can tune a GTR either RWD and AWD dynos RWD allow for about 40-50hp(this coming from 1 of the best known 32 GTR's in QLD) loss greater with greater horsepower.
