As stated its got a single turbo vvti 1jz, hence a crap load more torque and at lower rpm, the vvti 1jz makes peak torque at 2400rpm, compared to your non vvti 4400rpm, put 1jzgte into wikipedia and have a read.
I agree the Supra driver cant drive haha.
I own both 1uz and 1jz powered cars and they are both awesome engines!
LOL @ raptex2, Boosted v8's will always be cool but please name me a v8 that can handle 30psi on stock internals? or any petrol engine for that matter
@DaveBonds well good luck with that because u are not gonna see many because the toyota crown that it comes out of is a expensive limo style sedan. There isnt many of them in circulation and would be difficult to find one crashed. Would be sweet though!
that series of soarer never had a 1jz motor factory. it had four variants: a 2.0L DOHC I-6 (1G-FE), a 2.0L naturally aspirated or twin turbo DOHC I-6 (1G-GE or 1G-GTE), and a turbocharged 3.0L DOHC I-6 (7M-GTE)
This soarer had a 1g-gte but he swapt a 1uz in it and it has a automatic gearbox.
The supra was a 7m before with about 400hp but he swapt to a 1jz-gte vvti with a AEM Standalalon, and it was dyno'd @ 280rwhp and 500rwtq, and it's a manual gearbox. the guy in the supra can't drive :p
man do I wanna see that dyno sheet.. 500rwtq? lmfao. I have a 1JZ and that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard, coupled with the fact that you said hes at 280rwhp..
I have a jza70 TT-R conversion.. and he may be getting that power by use of a restrictor plate, but I have no idea why he would do that, let alone if its possible.
I've just never seen torque'e 1JZ's, most make a little over half the tq than hp. so..
@DoveofHope u want torque stick with the 7m. longest stroke out of all the supra engines. Hence more down low grunt. Dont like high rpms as much as the jz models though. 7m pull good from 2k-6k then they fall off.
actually the Soarer has used quite a few engines from a 1G-GEU (1 of 3 stock motors for this model)to 1UZ-FEs, 1JZs, 2JZs, ect.. ie: the soarer had a motor swap. sidenote- you don't have attack people to get a point across
Well that soarer would be a 1uz, 240 hp or less and 240 ft lbs of torque. If the supra has a 1jz, its 280 stock, if its still stock. Its very easy to upgrade when you do the swap, you just buy aftermarket parts instead of using the toyota parts in the process. I think the supra does not really have a 1jz
supra makes a god tuner xD, but if you start putting them up against the big v8's, theres a point that they can't get any better, v8 has more potential, but supra is better for a road race. xD I LOVE SUPRAS
are you serious ??..... god dam man, watch some youtube videos..... turbos & supercharging will give you way more hp than a N/A.....without going nuts like a drag car
i was speaking in general, not this video, V8's can go turbo also. Which means a lot of power, say a v8 pushing oh 350 stock, with appropriate upgrades running 30 psi? That can kick a lot of ass. I never said n/a gives more power. Turbo is the best thing ever in the auto world.
WRONG. its an inline six 2.5 liter twin turbo rated at about 280 horsepower whereas the v8 is the 1uzfe similar horsepower 4.0 liter and in a MUCH lighter car.. then again it does have to do with the drivers :)
mk3 ftw!

1uz is in the lexus ls400 (or the toyota celsor). Ain't gonna say much but do your homework

true that, if top secret can do it than any tuner could

i wil search it up for you, it think it's hase so much torque because it's a vvt-i, so not a normal 1jz.
Wath kind of car do you drive with a 1jz in?
I have a Supra mk3 with a 7m, that i'm rebuilding at the moment.

The Supra's not a V6, but an straight 6. But then again, the Supra has a turbo, and the Soarer is N/A.
Horsepower vs torque.
KenjiSil80 4 years ago
for one reason why the other car beat the mk3 is that it is a V8 and the supra is a V6

the soarer is just as heavy as the supra they share the same chassis. is it actually 1uz cause they only come 7m or 1g factory
