  • Living in America, I just wanted to say Chicago is a FILTHY city.

  • a video like this explains why Chicago lost to Rio. voters will not be appealed by explanations of the city sprinkled with people anecdotes. Rio's video was far superior because it had no script. just brilliant video and music that appealed to peoples emotions. it was fast paced; the action draws the viewver in. it made you want to be there instantly. that is how you win votes.

  • Look what happened to Brazil afterwards, In 2010 & this year. I guess Jacques Rogge was mindless, When some strange twist of fate reverted.

  • RIO IS THE BEST OF OLIMPIACS 2016

  • /watch?v=Z00jjc-WtZI&feature=related

  • Nope, just get annoyed by all the crazies on our highways, sporting those il plates.. A toll on all northbound highways on our border might just fix our budget issue.. :P

  • I was disappointed when we lost, but now given the difficulty the American economy has had in overcoming George W Bush's housing crash, I am relieved we don't have that financial burden.

  • For me... the best city in the world! But congrats to Rio, I'm sure they'll put on one of the greatest Olympics, you guys got the games so there's no need to be nasty. You don't disrespect anyone's city, just not cool.

  • FAIL MONSTER!

  • que chicago kkkkk

    e rio de janeiro

  • Hosting the olympics in chicago?? LOL We'll show the world what it's like to be stopped by toll-ways every couple of miles.. How about Milwaukee? We don't have those crazy tolls around here.. Maybe that's why we see so many Illinois plates around here too, speeding along on our highways.. :)

  • @pcmd85 You're very small-minded. At least that's what you project here. I'll bet you congratulate Scott Walker on ending the American Middle Class, too.

  • RIO IS CRIMINAL . SACRIFICES THE PEOPLE . TO HAVE A WORLD CUP AND OLYMPICS .

  • CHICAGO FAIL!

    RIO UP!

  • Rio de Janeiro is way over this dramatic Chicago

  • FAIL

  • @Math9600 you're the failure!

  • haha YO... Im from Chi.. and the first couple seconds when the woman's face came up I thought (damn, no wonder we lost, they should've got a better looking girl). Then they showed the wheel chair. And I was ashamed.

  • Responder a este vídeo... I live in Rio THIRTY YEARS AGO AND NEVER WENT assault. BUT I WAS ALREADY IN NEW YORK .. WHAT IS THE RIVER IS MUCH MORE FAMOUS THAN THESE CITIES THAT APPEAR BETWEEN THE MOST VIOLENT, SO THINGS THAT HAPPEN HERE ARE MORE RELEASED.

  • @ps3man75 ANNUAL REPORT OF THE UNITED NATIONS THE TEN POINTS OF VIOLENT WORLD CITIES: NEW ORLEANS (USA), TIJUANA (MEXICO) CAPE TOWN (SOUTH AFRICA) PORT MORESB (NEW GUINEA) SAN SALVADOR (EL SALVADOR 0; Medellin (COLOMBIA); Baltmore (USA) AND BAGHDAD (IRAQ ).... NOT NOBODY HERE IN RIVER ENTERS SCHOOL, MALLS OR CAFETERIA SHOOTING AGAINST THE WORLD. THERE ARE NO TERRORISM.

  • Chicago is better than Rio.

  • @chiblackhawks2010 the american cartoons is the only reason why they hate us.

  • The RIO is best.

  • @Emanuel1108 nope Rio is the wrost!

  • Too bad Chicago couldn't have been the second US Midwest city to host.

  • @showmebear and we will have it on 2024!

  • hope Dallas bids for the Olympics!!

  • omg sorry but this video is soooooo boooooooooring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! zzzzzzz

I live in the country side of Sweden! But damn I want to move to the US.. But ONLY! and ONLY to New York or Chicago!

  • oh no....you lose...sorry....

  • This video is lame in comparison with the multilingual, pluriethnic video that RIO 2016 made. The RIO video is more professional, more entertainning, better produced, and more representative of the Olympic/Parolympic movements.

  • "Cidade Maravilhosa,Cheia de Encantos Mil. Cidade Maravilhosa,Coração do Meu Brasil". Rio 2016,Live Your Passion.

  • WE ARE CHICAGO. and we will have the games, as we are the city where impossible is nothing, this city is what the olympic spirit is.

  • RIO!!! BRASIL!!! I´m sorry for you! Beijinhos!

  • RIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRAZIL!!!

  • yuck... is this the video you presented in the olympic bid committee??? it doesn't have olympic spirit!!! YUCK, YUCK, YUCK!!!!!! NO WONDER YOU LOSE!!!

  • too much talking in this video and progaganda too

  • Rio!!!

  • why would u pick chicago, olympic mofos are haters!!!

  • O well Los Angeles will be the next amercican city to host since it already hosted 2 times.. Plus we know how to actually run a commercial..

  • How were the Atlanta games soo bad? Why?

  • @superchunk1234 too patriotic and not creative :/

  • people I'm Brazilian, and I think we all Brazilian and south america have to feel like hosting the Olympics for the first time, even though the obama left the river in January rssr win, then in 2016 the river will be in January stunning as always ..

  • They diverted the flow of a river.. now that river's letting invasive species into the Great Lakes.

    Impressive.

  • they reversed it the other way letting invasive species get into the Illinois River.

  • atlanta run this

  • Comment removed

  • ein??? what's that???

  • to all those people who talk shit about usa stop doing that so im mexican and here in usa you find peopole from every single part of the world and all those people who came here is for just one reason BETTER LIVING

  • I'm Brazilian and I'm very happy for our achievement. However, Chicago is a fantastic city and I do admire the American working style. Americans work hard and when they do something, they do something good. America deserves our attention and respect! Congrats to Chicago as well.

  • RIO 2016 fuck fat usa

  • What I think went wrong was that all the promos and speeches were designed to excite the Americans not the IOC. Just my opinion.

  • @MrNayl0r I completly agree with you

  • FUCK U$A

  • This video S.U.C.K.S.

Why does USA insist in hosting Olympic Games after the worst Olympic games of the history - Atlanta 1996?

  • you are a atlanta hater.

  • @mesmodificilams I agree with you, sir

Not only Atlantabut also Los Angeles 1984 was too bad. Some Peruvians journalists with a lot of experience covering Olimpyc Games gave opinions on Los Angeles Olympic Games: so much Americanized, not friendly people and media and spectators were only interested in American heroes. So there is no Olympic Spirit in America. After L.A 1984, history repeats: Soccer World Cup in 1994 and Olympic Games in 1996

  • Sorry, the best video in 2016 race was this one:

    /watch?v=O5-1EJMVVdc

Rio 2016 - The Passion Unites Us...

  • Watching this video I realize I'm more proud of my country, proud of Rio...more than ever before.

  • Chicago FAIL

Nobody wants more shitty olympics in USA. I don't know why USA still insist. After the ridiculous 1996 game, where Atlanta was chosen just for being headquarters of Coca-Cola, doing the most ridiculous olympics ever.

  • Buddy..I'm happy for Rio...I'm glad for Brazil. You even know what the Olympic games are all about?...is about friendship not the kind of hate and frustration than you just show!. Get a live.

  • cidade maravilhosa cheia de encantos mil

    Brasil. 2016 Olimpic

Brasil 2014 World Cup. Hell what else do we want....

Brasil Hexa..This time is for sure

  • this video I remind me the Michael Scott's video from the people of The Office hahaha

  • Rio de Janeiro, YES WE CRÉUUUU!!!! KKKK

  • Chupa Eh nois Rio

  • BRAASIIL / BRAAZILL

    RIIIO DE JANEEIRO

  • i am not from the united states, i am not brazilian, but i am very happy that the olympics 2016 are going to be in OUR continent, and i am so happy that Brazil will have the chance to show the world how great it is, USA have show that many times.

i believe Rio was the best candidate, and i am very happy we keep the olympics as i said, in OUR continent.

is going to be pretty to watch the olympics in our day time.

china olympics made me stay awake very late :(

    Vivan las Americas!!!!!!!

  • wrong america has hosted at least 5-8 times compared to europ which is about 20-30-40 dhats not alot

  • I am brazilian, Chicago is beautiful to me.

  • Some Americans are bad losers. So they don't have olympic spirit. There's a truth about Olympic Games held in America: you, Americans feel and organize any Olympic Games ( Los Angeles and Atlanta) with excessive American flavor. Everything is American and America's mainstream media were interested in American heroes, but not foreign ones. Olympic Games in America is American Games. I hope one day Americans will have spirit olympic and organize Olympic Games.

  • @choloperuvian

Of course! Americans have the highest Television audience for Olympics. it would be logical choice to hold Olympic games there

  • @SabreSyc You can have so much money but not Olympic Spirit: be friendly with foreigners, media coverage on Olimpic Games's foreign heros and so on. I hope some day Americans wil be more open to the World. Learn on South Africans, a friendly and open people that organized Soccer World Cup some days ago.

  • @choloperuvian Of course American olympics have "excessive American flavor". The Beijing olmpics had excessive Chinese flavor. I suspect the London olympics will have excessive British flavor. And do I think during the Rio olympics we will see lots of girls dancing in sequined bikinis? Of course. So what? Why would any city spend so much money and not show something unique about its culture to increase tourism? That's really all the olympics are about since the fall of the Soviet Union.

  • @DFDalton1962 Journalists, tourists, sportmen-sportwomen and officials have recognized an open spirit of Olympic organizers and people of Barcelona, Sidney, Athens, Beijing. But America's Olympici Games not. Americans seem to be not open neither friendly with foreign viisitors. American Media have done an Olympici Games coverage as American multi-sports event. So people from around the world consider these facts.

  • @choloperuvian Our TV coverage is focused on American athletes because there are so many excellent ones. Plus, whichever network buys the event pays a lot of money and relies on strong U.S. viewership to recoup the cost. Covering the olympics has long been a losing proposition. More coverage of Peru wouldn't exactly help.

Your idea that the U.S. does not welcome foreigners is almost too ludicrous to comment on. Stop reading propaganda and look at our diversity and immigration levels.

  • @DFDalton1962 I do not have anything against American people. I just point out some facts that have always happened in every Olympic Games organized in USA. I sincerely hope one day America celebrate Olympiads with a warm and open spirit as the rest of the World does. Of course, sir. Today, my country has no big sportmen/sportwomen. But there are many non American heros in different sports. I think some Americans should be less emotional and accept suggestions

  • @choloperuvian If Peru had a gold medal long jumper, you'd see disproportionate coverage of the long jump competition I bet.

I happened to be in England during the winter olympics and saw the BBC's limited coverage. They were FORCED to focus on other country's athletes.

U.S. media focuses on U.S. athletes because they are so numerous and successful. If they overlooked a medal-winning U.S. swimmer to focus on, say, an Estonian winning an equestrian event, our viewers would be angry.

  • @DFDalton1962 You mean... American olympics have "excessive American flavor". The Beijing olmpics had excessive Chinese flavor. I suspect the London olympics will have excessive British flavor. And do I think during the Rio olympics we will see lots of BRAZILIAN CULTURE?

I agree with you,,,the only thing is brazilian culture is much more than girls in sequined bikinis. I guess you know that... I hope you know tha toot... I think you just didnt express yourself very well .

    cheers

  • @choloperuvian When the Olympics come to a country, that country is supposed to show off their culture, and show other countries what they have to offer. This is true for America, and every other country in the world that has hosted the Olympics. So don't tell me that the Olympics games in America are the American Games, because this is simply not true. Plus, our country has the most diverse population in the world, so quit your rant on how America is arrogant, because it's simply untrue.

  • @choloperuvian I'm American and I partially agree with your statement, but the Olympics are also aimed at tying culture with the world of sport. What do you mean "excessive flavor?" What did China have 2008? Greece in 2004? If mixing culture and sport together wasn't one of the aims, then the Olympics could be held in the same country for eternity. What was one of the reasons FIFA chose Qatar for the 2022 World Cup? Clearly you need to start using logic when you make such absurd comments.

  • zzzzzzzzzzzz...

  • fiND THE CURE FOR AIDS HIV THIS IS THE BEST OLYMPIK FOR AMERICA TO 2016 THIS IS YOUR JOB !!!!

  • this video looks wintery cold, were they trying to get the winter olympics? as for reversing the flow of the river ,they had to.Chicago was polluting lake Michigan with waste and sewage. it was a sanitary and health issue.

  • From someone who supported Rio from the very beginning, I want to thank Chicago - and Madrid, Tokyo, Baku, Prague, and Doha - and shake their hands for a great game played. The vote for Rio was not a vote against any other city.

If Chicago can recover from the fire stronger and better, it will come out of this experience with a lot more knowledge and insights to pursue future bids and giving presentations.

    Chicago's time will come.

  • missed joy, energy, passion. that video gloomy!!

  • But 2 wrongs don't make a right.... so, there's no excuse for our behaviour, and I am very sorry for all brazilians for that...

  • Good point of view.

  • It makes me sad to see brazilian people acting like they are right now, but I can understand it, tough. For centuries we have been explored and humiliated... when we visit developed countries, we are treated like second-class tourists most of the time, in airports, in stores, even on the street. It is hard to be a brazilian outside home. I guess that stupid way of celebrating is simply demonstrating how upset we are with the nations who have treated us badly in the past.

  • Let's stop insulting us. There is already too much hate in the world. We can be friendly countries and kind to each other. The next Olympiad can be there in Chicago.

  • Hello

    The power of image!

The production of films of the candidate cities were instrumental in the choice.

Chicago forgot the present concept of environmental preservation, showing a city of cement and taking money in return.

Madrid showed obvious that a great metropolis must have and Japan showed that everyone knows that Japan has: Japanese.

The Rio showed true integration between the natural beauty and its preservation and sports. Creativity above all else.

  • USA 2020!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I wipe my brazilian ass with your american flag, cocksucker son of bitch right wingnut.

  • Well you will be very sad when the American flag or the Chinese flag is raised 2 feet above the Brazilian flag in 2016, or the Brazilian flag wont be there at all. so be ready, the Star Spangled Banner is gonna be pouring out of your ears!

oh and your friends on all the 2016videos are acting like complete assholes!

  • Really, guys, Chigago sounds like a great city, which I would very much like to meet some day.

You had the stadiums, we had the nature appeal... it seems that, though nature won't help building stadiums, nature convinced COI...

Please, don't bother yourselves with brazilian's way of celebrating... we are the worlds most childish winners hahahahaha

You're welcome to visit us at the Olimpics ;)

  • Yes, American athletes will visit and take home the bulk of your gold medals. So get ready, you'll be hearing a lot of the Star Spangled Banner.

But truthfully, Brazilians are being very poor winners. Just check all the 2016-related videos and you can see it's true. I just don't understand it. It's so easy to be gracious when you win, and your attitudes belie the claims that Rio is full of "warm, friendly" people. I'm just not seeing it. A lot of you are acting, frankly, like @ssholes.

  • Unfortunately, there are lots of Brazilians making stupid comments on the videos. It's so sad. I'm glad for my Rio's victory but I respect the other cities.

  • Comment removed

  • I hate US arrogant people

  • hata.i dont give a fuck if im arrogant.because i gotta reason to feel that way.and obama is fixing our economy so when dis ish isz ova dont blame shid on us blame id on sufthn else.

  • you american losers US is the shit of the world

  • Dont forget rio is the best

  • DFDalton1962 you are ridiculous. i just said that the aids cure is important

  • I agree with sharkblue2007 the aids cure is very more important but WE CREU:D

  • What does AIDs research have to do with Rio 2016? Brazil has minimal to nonexistent biomedical research capability. They are not going to find a cure for AIDs if they don't spend money on the Olympics. Don't be ridiculous.

  • Sorry Guys but WE CREUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • with the money spend on this SHIT tousants of people die with AIDS why dont find a erradication of the virus A CURE FOR AIDS IS THE BEST OLYMPIK TO AMERICA sorry LOSERS!!!!

  • We brazilian people are the best of the world ;)

  • what its us americans ight

  • Yes We CREUUUUUU

please people from US STOP CRYING

  • I agree with Feyrai.

I'm from Rio and I'm really glad for my city. I respect all the candidate cities. Chigago is such a beautiful place and I'm sure that if Chicago had won, it would be an awesome Olympics.

But I also believe that this is a great opportunity for Rio development. We're gonna have economy and infrastructure improvement.

  • I hope all you Americans don't take a negative view of the general Brazilian population just because of a few idiots who are going around thinking that they are all that just because they have a computer and keyboard. and I agree with DFDalton1962 why did they film this in the winter???

  • Yes We Créuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • You know, It's true, all the people from Brazil just try rubbing it in our faces, on our own videos. Really it's just proving their immaturity. At least we do congratulate Rio on there victory. But we do also have our on rage.........but we should be able to talk about how Chicago had such a great bid and should have won, but hey, it's over. Stop rubbing it in our raging.

  • Well, I confess I was surprised the election of the Rio 2016, still more surprised to chicago without playing in the first round of voting! What happened to the IOC? The presentation of Chicago was impressive, too perfect! I really do not understand!

  • "COI!"

  • Comment removed

  • The thing that pissed me off about the Chicago bid is how ENTITLED they thought they were. They were not hoping to win. They were EXPECTING to win.

  • Obama's ego and arrogance at Copenhagen didn't help Chicago and may have actually cost a couple of votes, to say nothing of Michelle's self-centered appeal. Why didn't she realize her maudlin recount of her "humble" upbringing would irk people outside of the U.S.?

If I were on the IOC, I would have been eager to knock them down a peg too.

  • very cold video.... i mean the rio video is much better warmer .... this seems like a promocion for buying a home there....

  • To say nothing of the fact that it appears to have been filmed in the dead of one of Chicago's dismal, chilly winters. People in overcoats and wool caps walking through parks full of denuded trees? What were they thinking?

  • yess, we CRÉUUUU!

    RIO S2 forever

  • completamente certo 12msdr345

  • chicago, boring video, boring people...

I do prefer to live in the "thoird world" that belong to a nation that proud of their ignorance and arrogance, when you talk about the violence to rio, talk about the violence in the midle orient too, because it is your fault. North Americans just eat cheat, talk cheat, and do cheat, thanks god that your country is declining every year, you deserve it. Congratulation to Rio for the victory, your people worked a lot to it, Oh you north americans, morons.

  • You know what I find so interesting about Brazilians' comments on all these 2016 videos, whether they be for Rio or Chicago? It's the number of unsolicited negative comments about the losing cities when you WON! Why would you even bother? Why not just be happy you won without trying to "rub it in" on the Chicago videos?

The easiest thing to do is to be a gracious winner and you Brazilians can't even seem to manage that. Why?

  • so, really i had not specified about my coment. I was answering all criticizes about rio, like people sayng that brazil is a jungle, with trash, poor people and vilence, nothing more, I tried just to make some retarded people see that your country have some heavy mistakes, just like ours, and express my angry about this fuckin nonsense war. but, generalizing the north american nation was really immaturity of my part, and sorry for that; and yes! i am very happy! and congratulation toall cities

  • Really, your calling Chicago "Boring" with "boring" people. And fuck! You're installing the whole U.S.! Can't you just be happy you won! Just because you won doesn't mean Rio is better than the WHOLE U.S. You talk about it as if every single person who ever lived in the U.S. was a total and utter failure! Insulting us won't help you! It will prove your immaturity and why we shouldn't try you guys with the games!

  • Well, one of the advantages of winning the Olympic Games is that Brazil will have the entire world watching in the summer of 2016. You Brazilians will be able to teach the world who you are and what you are about. (I hope it will be something better than many of the sore winner messages I have seen displayed so far on these youtube boards.)

Congratulations, Rio. Get to work and make your country and the world proud!

(P.S.: We are still go to take home most of your gold medals...)

  • Sorry Dalton, but the Olympics in 2016, will be in the southern hemisphere winter, but our winter here in Rio have temperatures between 18 º C/64 º F and 24 º C/75 º F (that if global warming does not increase them!).

  • true but i hate to say it but it was already projected that if rio would host the olympics the ratings would decline.and shicago wuld have the highest rating so technically the whole world will not be watching.

  • you`re just sore cuz you need the olympics to feel better about yourselves. and also, if the focus isn`t on your precious little american country you might just die. well, new flash buddy: rio 2016 AND brasil 2014! I know that you`ll be right there, front roll, watching as every american athlete gets their poor little face dragged on the floor! LOL

cidade maravilhosa: nothing else comes even close :-)

  • how bouht laughing at this the american athletes have alwaysz won the most medals in olympics.,point 2 the focus is forever on my 'precious little american country' every day.,so i really want to know who is really sore?

  • haha, losers!

    Yes, we Créu!

  • Yes, we Créu! And we Créu in the velocity five!

We fucked the north americans...Chigado can not with Rio de Janeiro!

    KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

  • Yes, we créu!

  • "Yes, we créu! " Its so funny!!! Too bad that american fellows can't understand it.

By the way, I wished the Olimpics out of Rio. Too much money should be stolen.
