Disco was truly the second coming of Classical music. The string arrangements, on Disco songs, were incredible. If you could just play the strings, I bet people wouldn't be able to guess it's from a Disco song.

@THECLARENCES Agreed! Disco was symphonic and even Wagnerian in so many ways. But jazz and african rhythms all fused to inform the music. What 's so incredible is that we never really had anything like it ever since. Disco was pop/trance/classical/jazz/soul­/funk/rock and all musical genres up until that point melded into one. After disco came fragmentation and musical segregation, for better and worse.

@nosferatudasvampir Well said! It's so funny, Disco has been scrutinized over the years for almost destroying Rock N Roll in the late 1970's (which made no sense). However, many other forms of music that have come since, and are still around, have done more damage AND have less musical taste. Again, long live Disco! 1974-1980
