Your family gets to come to your graduation. If you want to surprise her, you may not wanna have ur recruiter contact her since all your process during bootcamp its known by your family if you request it. About the military taking you home Im not quite sure but you can ask your recruiter. I know once you graduate you are able to use your pay and you will be able to buy a plane or bus ticket, Good luck and Im glad you made a great decision
I'm 18 about to leave for basic training and I was wondering if when you first get back do you have to have someone come pick you up or is there any way the military can bus you home or something? Because i'de love to surprise my mom by randomly showing up at her door :)
@trevorhirby No, they don't bus you home. I went home a couple of months back and I called my mom to come pick me up from the airport. I remember a few people asked me if I had a way home, which was really nice.
If you want to surprise your family, maybe you can ask a police officer to take you home, I'm sure they wouldn't mind. ;)

I'll tell you what, if your son or daughter is in harms way and you're aren't sure if he or she is safe. and wham! they show up at home...enough to make anyone cry even the toughest old Jarhead like my self.
