Look at Jerry Rio, the interviewer in the Bloated Elvis video, Tell me he doesn't remind you of Woody Allen. Very funny and a must see for all Allen fans.
Woody: "What if I dropped dead from a heart attack?"
Ironically enough, this would actually happen to one of Cavett's guests (publisher and organic-foods guru Jerome Rodale) during a show a couple of years later.
@tuxguys Cavett's "facist runner" joke was the only one worth a titter. Woody carried the show. Kimmel, Letterman, Leno, I agree, though Lettermans and Jon Stewarts most recent interview was hilarious. Letterman tells the story of why Oprah hates him man its all on the spot and on spot. Craig Fergueson and Conan have some great interviews.
@tuxguys Letterman's delivery and humor are very similar to Dick Cavett's style. The other's though, like Kimmel, O'brien, Fallon, etc... aren't even in the same zip code as Dick Cavett and never will be.
They beat him [Woody]up back then! He was a good sport about about it! He could never go out in New York city. People would group into a mob and follow him!
lol 5:16 is that Rainn Wilson xD

I love Cavett!! He is so naturally funny, and seems really unegotistical - I think Cavett just about stole the show though here.

yes its a real shame he now feels the need to live up to the troubled artist persona in public rather than playing the clown.

Cavett was great at improv but he makes sluggish conversation when he is placed in front of people he personally has little interest in.

Cavett's show, Cavett's house: Cavett's actually faster than Allen here.
Ten minutes of spontaneity that makes you glad you saw it.
Conan, Kimmel, even Letterman, can only look at this and weep.
