  • I wish my Goodwill looked like that....

  • yay im a threadbanger!

  • @xXNessyNarcolepsyXx I know people who used to wear uniforms. So long as you're not thinking of the skanky, slutty version, a knee-length skirt, button-down shirt, blaizer, tie, and black shoes seems to be the truth.

  • Man, that isn't a good will that is a MALL! My good will building is a little shake near a garage that two creepy ladies live in, and they work in the god will with dirty clothes and underwear in bins that you get for 10 cents at Walmart! Nothing FANCY FOR US I GUESS! :) But nice video.

  • So many blazers..

  • @xXNessyNarcolepsyXx you'd think it's not real, but then again, it is. Good ol' Ireland..

  • should a guy who wears cut off jeans really be telling me how I should dress?

  • why did einstein sound indian?

  • lol wow, you sound like my mum :) i trust you on clothing now :D

  • DAMN! THE GOODWILL BY ME LOOKS LIKE shiett!

that one looks like a friggin mall!

  • dude my school uniiform sucks. blue jeans and a red or navy blue polo. eeeeew. i wish we had a hogwarts uniform

  • holla that.

  • atleast you're allowed to wear jeans :/

  • What a great video!! I'm a 29 y/o female & I would wear any of that.

And ya gotta love Goodwill <3

  • it depends on your area. for example, the goodwill near me is near the city and by tons of pricey stores. so it gets tons of designer things like banana republic, j crew, talbots, baby phat, etc.. and once in a blue moon higher designers like burberry or versace. you just have to have a ton of time to look. :)

  • how come their goodwill store has cool clothes????!?! lol mine is..terrible granny clothing, but..sometimes i find some cool things that i can make other things out of em...but either than that, i never find cool stuff like that.

  • what about girls? :D

    (maaaan, he's handsome)

  • i knoww. :[ what about girlls??

    (and hah, yeah. XD)

  • LOL

  • They must have incredible Goodwill's in NY. Banana Republic? J. Crew? Not in MY Goodwill XD. Not a chance. We're lucky to see an Abercrombie or Hollister somewhere in the racks. For the most part, it looks like the clothes we make fun of other people for wearing... you know the kind.. the kind that looks like we're third graders.. in college..

  • Thats too bad, My friend found a pair cheap mondays for like seven bucks.

  • omg sorry but if i wore that to school i would be a lughing stock so here is my question are style here is like tigh t shirt and skinnies could you give good tips on how you can make that look good ^+^

  • It is is still way too hot to be wearing blazers. It's not even that hot here and I wouldn't want to put one on all day D:

  • yeah, seriously

  • This was an amazing video.

    Super helpful.

  • uniform-chic is "in style" every fall. same thing each year. do something different! i don't follow trends. i buy what i like, and several times it's come up that what i bought 8 months ago is now what's in seventeen magazine as the "hottest new trend!'

  • OMG those blazers are positively grotesque, the whole point to that look is that the jackets are really fitted so it doesnt look like a uniform. i work at vogue and actually the new looks for the season going from sept onwards is vamp chique, prerppy and vintage. but people please, steer clear of uniformity! ull only look the same as everybody else (especially guys who, unless you are a super fashionista, tend to all dress very similarly anyway).

  • ya......i'm in california and it's HOT HERE!!! lol, they look nice and classy, but i wear stuff that's bright and flashy...not blazers, lol

  • why so many blazers?! i live in florida!

  • I have a hunch he only chose those outfits because their tags say: "Banana Republic" and "J. Crew."

They don't look bad, but they're super boring.

Goodwill has so much potential to create an exciting wardrobe.

  • exactly, jyts learn to sew and you can create a really unique exciting look form something thats potentially boring.

  • wow there was loads of blazers i had to wear uniform at school and i had a blazer but i covered it in band patches, badges and safety pins so it was punky and didn't look snobby i got told off all the time but i was allowed to wear it as a jacket

  • right on, that look is very in, as is adding a contrasting binding to the cuffs hems and collars of fitted shitrs/blouses and jackets

  • i think blazers are OK if you can make the your own inject some of you own style in and i think its a great idea to modify the cuffs and hems i wish i had thought of that at the time lol

  • if i had ever shown up at school like that i would have been sent home. i used to wear a suit jacket/blazer to keep me dry outside at intervals and i would get yelled at

  • ...he is talking about clothes for school, right?

  • i think he might be talking about college? but im in highschool and i wouldnt wear any of that

  • oh no... another one of those hollister abercrombie kids. Ahhh!

  • I'm in college and I wouldn't wear any of that lol

  • The info is useful, especially with his pairing of various elements with the blazers. I think the real issue is that it was titled Back to School Shopping and most kids just don't dress like that, especially in August. A better title would have been "How to Rock the Uniform Trend" or something similar.

  • its still summerr i would be dying in my school if i was wearing that

  • I didn't really like this video. I couldn't wear all the blazers at my school.

  • Ahh, the joys of living in England, we had uniforms!

  • What the fuck is it with all the blazers? Only snobs wear blazers to school where I live.

  • "and buttons for an added surprise!"

  • - LMAO

  • He's in a Goodwill in New York. Where I live Goodwill doesn't have nice dress clothes and J Crew or Banana Republic. Sorry, not very helpful.

  • I'm not saying the woman's outfits are ugly, no, but they remind me what my mom would wear to work.

  • its nice but not really my style but good ideas though!

  • liked the last one

    yea ok episode

true, most teenagers wouldnt wear that

but the patterns deff helped me

ill remember when i shop :]

  • i like the different combinations between blazers and such. While some people are really into that, perhaps not most teenagers who go to public school. It's still a really good episode and definitely something i will keep in mind when I go shopping :) thanx!

  • with those last two i thought he was still talking about clothes that will impress the ladies and i was like, "no man will ever touch that."

  • i really liked the last one for the girls- thank you~

  • The stuff was cute, but it's definitely not something for school. more actual casual things would work, not like blazers and ties and things.

  • um, is he wearing cutoff jeans LOL

  • hahaha yeahh at 1:08

  • They're all good outfits... but where did he go to highschool? No one wears a tie to the first day of school.

  • Private School; My sister goes.

  • Comment removed

  • The way you layer the clothes is really cool and unique. Well done, Sir. Well done.

  • CLASSIC! That Barret is handsome, and knows his style. Thank you for bringing him on the show!

  • Those ensembles are so classic and well put together. Barret, you have a great eye! No wonder you are a stylist to the stars!

  • That Goodwill store looks great!! Who

knew a thrift store could look so nice

    & clean!

  • It's just like shopping with your mom. "Let's pair a corduroy blazer with a v-neck sweater-vest" Now all we need are a pair of loafers and some suede elbow patches. In real life, those looks would look weird on a teen unless they did some deconstruction or something to the pieces.

  • variety ?

disapointment, it's not that where going to find a job... I mean, do I want to look like a teacher.

  • I was kind of disappointed with this video, the outfits were cute but had only a little variety. And where I live it would be way too hot for much layering or blazers. But I liked how you incorporated goodwill. Quick Tip: I live in Orange County and Goodwill location is very important, if you want something nice to wear you have to hit goodwill stores in higher income areas, Orange is pretty nice, but locations in Anaheim tend to have cheap/dirty stuff.

  • Blazers? ok??? Well uh wear i live ITS DARN HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would never wear a blazer to school!

  • howly fuck death note much man lol.

  • *sigh* Unfortunately, I can't wear jeans or jackets or hats. Only jackets w/ logos.:( Cool types though.:)

  • Way too preppy for my tastes.

  • Classic, not preppy.

  • maybe come up with outfits that dont have blazers

  • i like the idea, but honestly, who wears a blazer to school by choice?

  • where is this goodwill...it's a really nice one

  • I think this could possibly a bit too mature for a lot of your viewers (ie. middle/high school kids, but it really depends on the individual) but nonetheless good suggestions.

  • this guy is win.

  • Very nice, was that goodwill?

  • This was a great video, but it would have been much better to be able to see people actually wearing them. A look is so different on a person than it is on a hanger.

  • a lot of this seems way too formal for high school i assume he is directing this toward college age students

  • I actually like the direction on this one, but really? Cords? It's still summer, and most of that stuff had wintery feels. :(

  • id nvr wear any of that XD

  • the first outfit looked more like a Light cosplay (but not the pants oviously)

  • AWESOME for here in San Francisco! LOOOVE IT!!!

  • o.O okay well the clothes at my Goodwill isnt anything as nice as this .. sheesh.

  • I like the blazer look. It's classic, and frankly, trends in high school will definitely fade away.

  • OMG they dressed men!!!!!!!!

  • yeah..ummm... you guys missed the mark on this one : (

  • oh this is perfect!....for the east coast...

    yay west coast?

  • completely gay. not everyone wears a uniform. and i especially dont wanna look like it. so possibly could you do maybe a non-prep ep.?? lol

  • That wasn't prep at all...

    It was classic.

o.0 I didn't see any of those retarded labels like Hollister, Abercrombie & Fitch, and all those crappy clothing that spell out their label on the front or back of the shirt.

  • Prep doesn't necessarily mean those brands. Isn't the fashion on Gossip Girl considered preppy? (And sometimes they're kinda similar to the outfits on this video)

  • I like this stuff! Maybe I am an old man at heart?

LOL I kid. I think he is just aiming for university students, not teens.

  • what goodwill is he at. jesus. my goodwill has NOTHING like these clothes!

  • New York Goodwill...enough said

  • What school did he go to?

  • Um I don't think anyone who goes to school will look good in these elderly wears.

  • Now to find it in your size....and not smelly.....and pit stained...lol

  • to school? No wayyyy

  • I liked it.

  • R u serious?? this is no where helpful...yall should of given us someone with a more hip and young look on clothes...this was BOooooOOrring stuff!

  • someones been watching too much gossip girl...i mean really now...who wears a blazer everyday lol

  • one of the things that suck about college...no more back-to-school shopping. no, you're just trying to throw all of your shit together and get things straightened out with roommates and classes too much to be thinking about clothes...

  • haha so true...i still need to move in and get my books and straighten out my schedule all before monday...i'm like "clothes? oh yeah..." haha

  • lol yea and parents refuse to buy you clothes anymore...i miss those days! now i LIVE at goodwill...thank God for threadbanger! :D

  • This is a great back to school wardrobe IF YOU GO TO SCHOOL ON WALLSTREET...otherwise it's pretty much a disaster.

  • I absolutly DON'T like anything at all !!!!

    all ORRIBLE!!!!!

  • i know right. it looks gross. nothing matches...ick

  • This is all really nice..for guys! I would wear a jacket everyday.

  • Ehm...I don't know about this :P

    Definitely nothing I would wear.

  • i think this will help more for work

tho the jacket and t-shirt were more of a normal cool look for school, guys anyway :P

  • gossip girl is to blame for this trend

  • my goodwill isn't near as hip

  • bleh. besides being dressy (the kids would make fun of you, seriously).... it's going to be HOT when school begins.

  • WAY too many blazers. Jeebus. Though I'm not going back to school, it makes me a little glad I'm not.

  • so the moral of today's story is blazers are in.

tbh I wont be going down that route, its a bit to dressy for me. I wore a uniform from when I was four years old to 18 when I got out of school. I'm in college at the moment and I don't really want a uni there as well.

I think fashion might be different over in the states because the only people who wear blazers in college are the law students and it always looks a bit wrong. Like they are trying too hard to be professional and mature

  • i see anything new..

  • great idea!

  • THnks.

I hate the annoying school Bell , lol.

  • the last one was pretty hideous

but then i just don't like lace hahah =]

  • That's so funny, I was at that Goodwill this past saturday, that's the one by Baruch College! And I actually wanted that denim jumper shown at the beginning of the video! There are a lot of great similar stores in that area including the Salvation Army, the Opera Thift House, and the Housing Works Thrift shop across the street!

  • why is everything a blazer?

  • Its really hot out... and no one wears blazers anymore.

  • Blazers are one of the newest Trends!

  • Blazers are nothing new. They are simply coming back around the fashion cycle.

  • just vomited a bit in my mouth

  • That's not healthy. You should have that looked at.

  • Should we really be taking fashion advice from a guy who wears cut-off jeansshorts?

  • cool :) thery remind me of that jonas show :)

  • Anything see-though or that is a tank-top is 5 days detention besides the air/heating system never works so blazers are out and who whares blazers execpt the people in speach class?

  • are you kidding me?

blazers are deffinately in season. especially here in england. although school uniform here is compulsery..

    :S

  • Dont get me wrong, I like blazers but here in the states no one that I know at any of our schools look good in a blazer. Personaly I wish our school had a dress code, it would eliminate soooooooooooo much drama and the rediculus amount of people in detention.

  • I'm glad that my highschool never enforced a uniform on us. They had a specific dress code of no profanity etc., or tops that revealed clevage or stomaches. Also, tank tops couldn't have straps skinnier than a lasagna noodle. I wouldn't have lasted in a school with uniforms.

  • fair enough

but people in your school really get detentions over wearing blazers?

  • Oh, no we dont get detention for wearing blazers (not that i know of anyway) it just the blazer is just not worn by anyone here in the south, it is too hot. We did have two guys come to school on St. Paterics Day with kilts on and both got 10 days detention! They were either Irish or Scottish and they were showing there pride. Sadly enough that another guy dressed up like a lepercon (sorry for the spelling) and didn't get in trouble!

  • Great idea but you will have these 4 options when you acualy go to school:

    1) Get stared at

    2) Get laughed at

    3) Have someone ruin your outfit

    4) The teachers pitty (they say you look nice because they know your having a bad day) (sorry to all the teachers that don't think it's true)

  • I KNOW!!

    sombody honestly.. tell me

would any of you where those outfitts to a normal american school???

  • probably. but i go to catholic school so they're pretty strict on the uniform policy. the days i'm not in uniform i don't care what i'm wearing anyway. there aren't any guys to impress. this equals me not bothering haha.

  • ummmm I've been out of school for about 5 years but I think that stuff is a litttleeeee too dressy. Cute! don't get me wrong... but too dressy. Well at least for the teens here in So Cal. Its way too hot to wear a blazer to school.

  • i think they look good, but no many people wear blazers on a regular basis to school.

  • Umm, what school do you go to? This is exactly what I'd wear... if I want to get beat up. :P

  • I like all of the different colors and patterns paired up together. not too mismatchy and they actually do go together

  • YESSSS BACK TO SCHOOL! THANK YOU!! :D

  • Hmm, Wow, It good looking. But I agree with the rest of the comments. Honestly, I don't think wearing a blazer all the time is good fashion wise. It sort of got repetative after a while. Just different schemes. And isn't it a little to hot for blazers?

  • not a big fan...since i already have a uniform...something different please

  • Goodwill. Great for the shoppers. Horrible to their employees. Trust me I know.

  • it's too hot to wear blazers!!

  • My local Goodwill has nothing like this. Just a bunch of clothes from 1994 that should have never been made in the first place.

  • I love the style, but it isn't realistic for school. 3 layers in any school is bound to make you sweat because of nerves or the heat. >.>

  • No one is going to wear a blazer to school, not even people in prep school. Just saying.

  • not grungy at all, i dont like this sense of style..threadbanger was more grungy in creation and advice, why i always liked it

  • where exactly is this goodwill in NYC?

  • yo its thomas here and i was wondering if you could please teach me and other peeps how to make a cool top hat to show of to my freinds that would be awsome thanks

  • Too many blazers. Realistically, who would want to wear those all of the time?

    Jeans are always good though.

    Where is Rob and Corrine???

  • Love this guy's style sense!!

  • if u wanna find a goodwill with good stuff just go to a rich neighborhood with one, they have sum realy nice stuff

  • all of those looks looked old. meh

  • for me, that's altogether too many blazers.

  • I have a question.. where is Rob and Corrine? They haven't been on in a while...

  • all the thrift stores with decent things are in big cities like NYC or in LA...

living in a small town we have stuff thats just plain nasty and gross... so I can never get decent stuff or even recon anything with the weird stuff I have in my town... ugh

  • try going around holidays - or skip over to a bigger town/city and try their goodwill on for size.

  • yeah those were all ugly and impractical and all the same style. and had nothing to do with fashion or diy. this was just watching a guy pick out second hand outfits...

  • this isn't a very good first day look, because i live in a cold place, but that would still be too hot.

  • jeans.... breakthrough.. seriously those looks are so 2005

I'm not saying they are not nice, they do look good, but for a stylist a bit back in time

and girls outfits were a bit too gap, I guess this episode was intended for high school and junior high students, the outfilts looked not very young.. still they are nice but not what a 13yo might want to wear...

I liked the washing jeans tip, though

  • More warm weather BTS Fashion please! It will not be cold enough for teven the tanks & White until late October here in Texas! It's 97 degrees on a good day!

  • Word to all the other comments & I can't wear cords in Florida because its so friggin' hot.

  • this look would be ideal for a place that was cold...

but i live in the fucking desert...and wearing shit like that..would give me heat stroke...

    no thanks

  • way to put all male outfits together. gosssh

  • i like this look, but i wouldn't want my entire closet to look like this. Now one blazer is okay, but i'm not a fan of wearing them all the time.

  • i live in a somewhat diverse area, but my local thrift stores are full of 1990's old lady clothes (think strange knit patterns).

  • That's too heavy to wear around here...and I wish the outfits had more variety, they all look the same..

  • I don't really this style.

  • mmm the guys can pull that off in college...dep on what type of person you want to be perceived as and where your attending...

    girls and blazers...no thanks n_n

  • I found this video a little pointless, other than the tips he gave on fit, I dont really think the information was useful. There wasnt much variety in the outfits, either.

  • i like this. people keep saying that kids don't wear it, but some kids do - i think i would, if i could find a nice enough blazer at my thrift store...

  • ... they look kinda old.

  • That was so great!! i want to go to the good will now :D

  • My good will sucks I dont have cashmere anywhere.

  • yeah, the thing about goodwill and salvation army is it all depends on what gets put in locally. if you live in the middle of no where and everyone shops at the same stores, are you'll probably only be able to find boring stuff, whereas if you live in a more diverse area, thrift stores can be a gold mine.
