I was 21 when this came our, still love it. Once a punk, it's stays inside. Great times saw so many gigs in london next couple of years, had so much fun, and being on the outside of society somewhat was a liberating feeling, and still is. Then everyone moved on to New Romantic, it all got more clichey and art school like...but The Damned were the best punk band IMHO.
after years of listening to empty drivel like kiss and aerosmith, I became a punk at 47~ lol...the damned, sex pistols and the minutemen, DOA and the stooges~ even started my own punk band...
@JustTheGman My Dad's 43. The first time he heard Alternative Ulster by Stiff Little Fingers he knew he was a punk. And sometimes he says to me ''I'm still a punk at heart'' ;D. I guess it's just something that never go's away.
I think we spoke well for our generation and we were prepared to stand up and be counted. Apathy is the cancer that will eat away this country. People are too inclined to sit on their butts, moan at how terrible things are, then sit back and hope that somebody else does something about it.
Listen to 'What If Punk Never Happened Never Happened' by the King Blues. Sums it up for me.
still a punk and will always be
