@JoshuaSkye Wrong. The Nazis had an economic system whereby the gov dictated everything to businesses and allowed for private property IN NAME ONLY. That is Fascism and in turn Leftism. Some ideas were Left-wing & others were Right-wing for the Nazis.
oh yeah, this guy was a 'marine', and that's as 'big government spending' as you can get...the military.
this alleged ex marine is a lying sack of shit, or at best, a contradictary s.o.b. he lied about 'indoctrination', he cries about public health care yet HE'S RECEIVING IT (if he's REALLY an ex marine), and thus he's READILY taking SOCIALIZED MEDICINE AT TAX PAYER EXPENSE.
and, he was an ex 'big government program' employee in the military.
@Aegius wait, why isn't he being allowed an 'alternative'. get an education (from the socialist 'Veteran's Administration' program, like my dad did after WW2...got a masters, in fact), and get a job that pays great benefits. that's what i did.
unless he's a dumbass, or an unskilled laborer (because his ass was able to walk up to the podium, speak clearly his lies, talk to the congressman, and walk back to his seat while fist pumping) there's no reason he cant have a job with benefits.
@neoconsnightmare3 "there's no reason he cant have a job with benefits." Answer: Employers aren't hiring, b/c there is fear over what may occur in DC. That's why he and millions of others can't find jobs right now.
@Aegius c'mon. is he unemployed? if so, how do you know? and employers weren't hiring in the 8 years bush was president. that's why a public option is important. what he's saying is he'll take advantage of public health, a socialist program that is indoctrinating his kids (LOL) but he doesn't want OTHERS doing similar?
i call bullshit.
how do you know he's unemployed?
i call 'another bullshit joe da not quite a plumber' on this one.
@Aegius oh yeah, canada NO WHERE NEAR privatizing it's public health.
"One of the last truly "public" health systems in the world can be found in Canada. Canada has not followed a recent trend by other countries to either adopt health care privatization or reprivatization (Weller & Mango, 1983). Over the past five to ten years, however, a number of individuals and groups have tried to privatize Canadian health care. They have not succeeded. "
then he lied about 'indoctrinating his kids', and when busted out he kept going.
he doesnt have a good understanding of history...comparing health care with the nazis is laughable. sweden, denmark, britain and canada have more socialist systems than the u.s. (and the u.s. is partially socialist) and they aren't 'nazis'.
oh yeah, he's an injured vet and HAS GOVERNMENT MEDICAL, a 'socialist thing' called 'veterans administration benefits'.
David W. Hedrick is a FRAUD, he CRITICIZES social programs that benefit the poor, handicapped, and elderly, yet HE receives an ENTITLEMENT from the GOVERNMENT for a medical situation UNRELATED to COMBAT. In FACT, David W Hedrick, has NEVER SERVED in COMBAT EVER, nor has he completed a FULL TOUR of DUTY in ANY MILITARY. I served 20 YEARS in the NAVY, and I SAY he is a DISHONORABLE LYING BASTARD!

I love it. This is telling it like it is. The Dems have crossed the line and are nearing socialism. If Harry Reid thinks he can jamb this down our throats using "Reconciliation" without an uprising, he is in for a big suprise.
2. The Nazis explicitly opposed egalitarian ideals
3. A "former marine" probably already has a public option! If you get cancer and your insurance drops you, you can go to the VA! I'm screwed!
Threats of political violence + opposition to egalitarian ideals + exclusive rights not afforded to the unworthy. Who's the fascist? If we were talking rationally about market forces, metrics, ethics, and facts, maybe name calling would be out of line.
If you have the public option you will be screwed to. Because the waiting lists will be so long you will die before you get to see the doctor. I don't have insurance either but I don't expect all the other people to pay for my insurance. I will do it on my own, thank you. I would rather be without insurance then have the public option. Because now I know that if I get injured I can go to the hospital and they can't deny me fast service, with the public option, like Princess Di, waiting kills!
If you wish to spend 4 years in the crotch and serve in the Middle East, you too can get his public option this young man has earned, BUT, I wouldnt recommend it. The VA is a pretty good example of what a national medical program would look like. Only 100 times more crowded. Join a union or get a job that has a plan. I have been eligible for VA medical and I could have applied for a disability after 2 tours of Vietnam. Never considered it, their hospitals sucked
I have VA health care now (OIF Vet) and I totally agree! I cant stand going in there luckly I am in good health and only 24 years old. If I dod have a problem I would be goin through a private insurer.
It is my express opinion that if no one feels proud of this marine, then that one is 'unamerican', unpatriotic, and an all-out ass. And my op is the one that matters to me. Hate on me haters, hate away!! GOD BLESS AMERICA AND SEMPER FI!!!!

Are there some Americans that are more important than others?

Dude - you are the jackass. The Preamble says "PROMOTE" the general welfare and PROVIDE for the common defense; not PROVIDE the general welfare. Maybe if more people were not "recipients" of the fabulous, left-leaning public education shoved down our throats in this country, they would understand the difference.
Also, here is a real history lesson. The Nazis or the National Socialist German Workers Party werent liberals. The Socialist part referred to social welfare, not socialism. In fact when the SA tried to implement socialist policies, the? SS killed all of them. Also the Nazis are historically considered to be part of the far right, along with fascism; both Nazis and Fascists actively opposed liberalism.

Since Mr. Hedrick, a disabled veteran, hates universal medical insurance so much, I presume he has rejected his VA benefits and purchased private insurance.
His VA benefits were earned, not given just because he resides in the U.S.. There is a difference giving someone medical benefits because they got fucked up while serving their country, and giving medical benefits to someone who sits on their front stoop every day and says there is no work out there. That they didn't have the same opportunities as you or I because of where they grew up, or their parents divorced. Wheh. Two totally different things. You are comparing apples to oranges. Semper Fi!
Serving as a Marine he earned his health benefits, and as a disabled vet he is entitled to his benefits for life.He has also earned the respect of every American.
On a different note if you think that government health care is so great look at how the V.A. is run and ask a vet if he is satisfied with his/her care after going and fighting for his country.
If you think government health care is so great ask Canadians why they come here.
uh... why don't you ask american who go to canada to get cured?
Oh, and you should also ask them but also french, danish, swedish, germans, to name a few if they would give up their health care system. You'd be surprised
Actually they are mostly coming here to the USA from Canada, because the system is imploding and the waits are very long for essentially anything and the various European countries are gradually moving away from the social welfare system. It just doesn't work.
Well that is simply not true... Aside from specialized medicine for which there is always a wait (but then again, the urgency of your disease is taken into account), you can get medical care in less then a week. I'm not talking about the emergency here, which you can access immediately at anytime, which ever your solvability is.
@Aegius that's a lie. i'm in vancouver, my wife is a lifelong canadian, and the system is NOT imploding. this is what lying americans and canadians who are frustrated with their government (still a minority) say to 'get in' with frustrated americans.
the system works fine, and folks don't go without health care to pay for food and housing.
european countries with socialized medicine are 'gradually moving away' from socialized medicine? really? prove it.
@neoconsnightmare3 It's not imploding now, b/c they are privatizing. The money has run out. Go figure. Gov doesn't produce wealth & just incurs massive costs.
& Yes, Germany, Sweden, UK and other European countries are gradually pulling away from socialized medicine, b/c the money has run out and ppl are fed up w/the long waits. In Germany there already is a two-tiered system w/private care.

I kno a disabled Corps vet that's bin gettin $700 a month for... psoriasis... which - btw- he admits was a misdiagnosis... it ended up being a rash.
That's $700 a month for the last 4.5 years = damn near $40k
Notice Sean Hannity dosn't say if Hedrick's disability is combat-related.

@Aegius sorry, the money's not running out. from the economist this year:
"By 2030, Europe may find a way to redesign its healthcare systems so they fit the purpose for
which they were created. In particular, that would mean the systems are re-set on a firm financial
foundation, so that they can pay for the increased healthcare burdens created by ageing populations."
they are BARELY covering costs due to aging population and the diseases that go along. but they are NOT privatizing.
