However, it's hard to be truly original today. What hasn't been done on the guitar already? The last truly original player is Adam Jones of Tool. Not the greatest player, but VERY original on his rhythm playing.

Like Laiden said, it dampens strings. He does a lot of tapping. When you tap you tend to accidentally tap other strings. When he uses the hair band thingy. It minimizes sound from the open strings whenever he may hit an open string.

ya ... well iunno i just say this kid deserves some props, he's 17 plays drums , bass, guitar maybe more ... probably piano cuz most guitarist play a litle piano or keybord for backin tracks. So im gona have to go ahead and say that he's deffinatly going to go somewhere , he's starting at the perfect age he's already got some major skills guitar wise and he's young. So he has years to perfect his talent and sound. Hell he already works with guthrie and Gotty boy for bluesjamtracks, enough said.

by way of compareison mattrach just droped a video last week, a bajo piece that he did for fun, no intent of releasing it, butt after 90,0000 views in a week and the fans telling him they like it hes now cashing in, from the world audience, who wants diversity, with skill and style that is unique not contrived of technix, great music sells, because people like it, this guy is trying to be somthing rather than makeing himself somthing, he want success not great music!

again, the audience for solo guitar is the smallest in the world! all of the guitar gods first became established and built fan bases from commercial success, thats what gave them the opertunity to express themselfs with solo work, and concentrate on advancing the art, my implications r matt has built a hugh following by playing great music not stringing technx together to impress guitar players, he did that in the begining of his youtube posts, and received lil attention, butt punted the jem 7

most of the time popularity has nothing to do with skill other wise black eyed peas wouldn't have made chart topping singles and no one would know who the fuck lil wayne is.
my problem with mattrach is that he basically done a video of canon rock and then his other videos became popular off the back of that.
plus, he has put joe satriani, steve vai, malmsteen, and hendrix in his video tags.

Like Laiden said, it dampens strings. He does a lot of tapping. When you tap you tend to accidentally tap other strings. When he uses the hair band thingy. It minimizes sound from the open strings whenever he may hit an open string.
