First off, Fight Club is my favorite movie ... secondly I totally agree with him we he says that movie was understood by my peers and not my parents. I remember when it came out Rosie O'donell was throwing a fit. Also, for fans that haven't seen Primal Fear, it is another one of his A+ movies, and I believe was one of his firsts.. just shows he's had talent from the beginning.

Whats Eating Gilbert Grape, Blow, Donny Brasko, and many more great films slipped under the radar because they werent big budget films but they were just a few of his roles that I loved. for me, its in the casting. if he's cast as a midwestern white boy who's sort of whimpy and smart alacky/surfacy(fight club), he's fine. but he takes on things he's ill-suited for and doesn't have the emotional range or depth to pull off. take his character in red dragon---a deeply written and layered character, every bit as interesting as the silence of the lambs character (by the same author), and he just smirked his way through it and looked lost. was completely miscast in burn this as well.

acting isnt just about pretty faces, glamour, fashion and money. its an art form, and Edward is a master at gesticulating every scene he does.. and his subtext is just pure brilliance. when you look into his eyes during a film you dont see Edward you see the character. you see the emotions, the notions just by looking him in the eye. he could act out a scene without any words and it would still be brilliant. he'd be a good edward scissorhands!
