@doltdog Thank you. I've been working on a presentation that covers GMO's, and 5 seconds with Google showed that the Grapple is not GM. A bit more effort on the part of the woman in this video would be appreciated.
@TeodoraBG Genetic modification uses recombinant DNA techniques, it is not the same as conventional breeding that has gone on for thousands of years. GM poses a whole new set of risks that have never existed with conventional breeding, such as antibiotic resistant markers, virus promoters, agrobacterium, etc.
If any of you think ever tasted real organic food then all of you are wrong... Every fucking cultivated organism was modified genetically over the years.
@shinokiba Instead of repeating false biotech propaganda that GMOs saved billions of lives or whatever nonsense they want you to believe. Try looking at the independent studies and government reports which suggest organic reduces hunger and poverty in poor countries by increasing yields 80% on average and double or more in Africa. GM crops have not had these kind of yields, and GM uses much more land than organic by using refuges and buffer zones, etc.
@shinokiba People die from allergic reactions, so it isn`t that they just didn`t notice! Allergies have increased and it has little to do with increased food, celiac disease for example, has been linked to new proteins that didn`t likely exist in the 9th century. Also nobody ate organic food in the 9th century. Organic food didn`t even exist until around the 1900`s. Organic farming uses modern technology that simply didn`t exist in the 9th century.
@shinokiba It`s not GM crops(which have only been used commercially since the 1990`s) that reduced hunger, it is conventional breeding(used by organic farmers) that reduced hunger. In fact the UN report International Assessment of Agricultural Science Technology Development by 400 scientists concluded GM crops have little potential to reduce hunger or poverty and can INCREASE hunger and poverty, especially in poor countries, where most hunger and poverty occur.
Can anyone explain why there has been an epidemic of food allergies and obesity in children. During the '60s and '70's, food allergies were almost unheard of. In my humble opinion, GMO's are the culprit of the explosion of obesity and food allergies amongst America's youth.
@ourfamilyvideos808 Allow me my friend. You see, people always had food allergies, just no one noticed until now. Before modern farming methods, people would just eat whatever they can find, they wouldn't care if they were allergic to it or not. Because of GMOs, the surplus of food skyrocketed, food became cheaper and easier to grow. Because of this, we started eating more, and we got fat. Charles the fat lived in the 9th century, he only ate organic food, and he was still fat.

Genetically modified food allows us to feed much more then organics. If farmers only grew organics it is estimated only 4 billion out of nearly 7 billion people could be fed. Organics is only a mere 3% of the food market in the US, but account for 8% of the E. Coli infections.
@zzzIdividedbyzerozzz 2007 study Kansas State University, Roundup Ready(RR) soy yielded 9% less than conventional soy. University of Nebraska study found RR soy yielded 6% less than their closest conventional relatives, and 11% less than high yielding conventional lines (Elmore et al, 2001). This 6% ‘yield drag’ was attributed to genetic modification, and corresponds to a substantial loss in production of 202 kg/ha. These results clearly refuted Monsanto’s claim to the contrary (Gianessi, 2000)
@zzzIdividedbyzerozzz A study in the journal Renewable Agriculture and Food Systems, based on 293 yield comparisons of plant and animal foods, showed that organic agriculture has the potential to feed the entire human population based on the amount of agricultural land currently in use.
@zzzIdividedbyzerozzz The UN and World Bank recently completed an unprecedentedly broad scientific assessment of world agriculture, the International Assessment of Agricultural Knowledge, Science and Technology for Development, which concluded that biotech crops have very little potential to alleviate poverty and hunger.
@zzzIdividedbyzerozzz University of Minnesota study concerning fecal E. coli in fresh picked produce by Mukherjee et al, published in the Journal of Food Protection (Vo. 67, No. 5, 2004), found that the percentage of E. coli prevalence in certified organic produce was similar to that in conventional samples.

Go back to your fantasies reg. Little more pot. Describe to us how you make your bubble hash again...
"Degrees don't equal intelligence. But clearly they foster an arrogance"
no reggie. Degrees demonstrate that you have the brains, and the determination to accomplish something & prove to a board of experts that you know what you are talking about.
Don't be bitter because of YOUR failures. Just because you were expelled from school because you lack intelligence and discipline.
Or I suppose you think that people who have NOT studied topics should be considered the experts...
"Degrees demonstrate that you have the brains" not yours, obviously "prove to a board of experts" lol the jury is a rubber stamp committie, you know that "because of YOUR failures" lol, its you who FAILs TROLL "people who have NOT studied" nope, i just KOW that some assholes like you seem to think they are entitled to berate others & put people down because of their 'title' "posted a few peer reviewed articles" thats right learn to read TROLL "bubble hash" ice & water is all you need TROLL
@IlSeFousDeTaGuele well its the only way that people have been able to categorize people into such a way that they can be considered appropriate for certain jobs, however just because you have a degree doesn't mean a thing. A almost failing doctor and an A+ doctor both turn out to be doctors. They both make mistakes and some dont even know what they're doing because they probably cheated on tests and stuff. And i dont think anyone lacks intelligence, they just dont apply themselves
Grāpple® brand apples begin either as Washington Extra Fancy Gala or Fuji Apples, These "premium apples" are the ones that take on the grape flavor best. This Patent Pending process is complex and the ingredient mix primarily includes concentrated grape flavor and pure water. All ingredients are USDA and FDA approved
There is nothing but flavor being infused into the apple. A relaxing bathing process prepares our apples . They are not genetically altered in any way.
The Grapple is not actually a genetic mix of a grape and apple. It's an apple that has been infused with artificial grape flavor through a secret process. The book The Fruit Hunters explains this in moderate detail.
"In April 2009 Andrés Carrasco, an Argentinian embryologist, has described the alarming results of a research project into the impact of the herbicide glyphosate on the foetuses of amphibians. Dr Carrasco, who works in the Ministry of Sciences Conicet (National Council of Scientific and Technical Investigations), the herbicide could cause brain, intestinal and heart defects in the foetuses. Glyphosate is the herbicide used in the cultivation of Monsantos genetically modified soya"
Thanks, its really just insane how people pass things off as "genetically modified so its evil". Broccolini is a hybrid. What shes saying is ambiguous and meant to draw in people who don't know that GM foods have been around since the advent of domestication where selective breeding was started.
BodybuildingTom- GMO foods have only been around in foods since 1996 or so, being approved by Bush (the First) in early 90's WITHOUT study. Hybrids are not "GMO" they are hybrids. Selective breeding is not GMO. GMO's use viruses and genetic splicings to introduce new features in the plant that have never previously been there. The plants either take in "fertilizer" (laced with poisons) or grow them as part of their cells (as in the case of GMO Bt-corn) you eat the poison as part of the meal.
You guys who think that GMO's are less healthy for you are complete and utter morons. Organic foods and GMO's are nutritionally the same. Organic is not any better for you health-wise.
Your a Moron. Go spray bug or ant killer in your mouth and tell me how it was. If if it kills or deters bugs away from the food then what is it doing to the cells in your body making them better LOL.
You're the moron. We have an immune system for a reason. Second, we are not taking anything away from the organism when it is introduced to chemicals. Third, they do not spray ant or bug killer on the food. They don't have to. There are safe and natural ways to keep bugs off crops.
Go to school...learn a rule...come out the other end an educated fool. Degrees don't equal intelligence. But clearly they foster an arrogance in you.
Yes, just because you say it it MUST be true. Seig Heil, little dictator. People like you are why people like me step up and annoy.
Tag you're it GMO boy!!! Go to the dictionary and find some big words, see if there are any good latin words on the sheepskins your parents paid for (and wasted their money on).
Actually, I am 25 years old and I run my own successful company. If you think degrees are pieces of paper, then you better quit working right now and go on welfare if your not already.
I did not contradict myself at all, my proof is valid and you have not proven your point anyway. Where is your proof? You the are dunderhead who is blinded by faith and is so gullible that you think God has a plan for everyone.
I just buy European food. American food is DISGUSTING. I still have to find and American tomato that has any taste. It's like card board no matter if it's grown on the vine or in season. Zero taste.
What you are describing is mild or passive forms of Genetic modification of foods, but the type more common like those invented by Monsanto and the like, have little if any scientific backed data on humans and what these manipulated proteins do to the human brain. There are studies that suggest GMO soy (resistant to Roundup) cause kidney and liver damage. They use a bacteria resistant to roundup and shoot the genes into the seed with a gene gun. Try to get some of your facts straight sweetie.
i saw a japanese study on gmo soy where they found that it doesnt break down in or out of the body until a temp of 300 degreese and since your body will never reach that temp, good luck to you!
this is out and out misinformation! some might even say lies. "expert"??? village. GMO'S COME FROM MONSANTO THE MAKERS OF AGENT ORANGE, WHICH BY THE WAY IS GENETICALLY MODIFIED INTO THE STRAINS OF 90% of US corn, canola and soy. watch the FUTURE OF FOOD and other movies on this subject they actually did research. stop the bs please!
it's evident did you watch the dribble come flying out of her mouth. NONSENSE, i know it's hard to decipher as we have been pumped full of mental and physical rubbish for so long. fyi: genocide does not = peace and liberation, and GMO's does not equal nutrition for a growing population. utter and outright lies....awaken to the truth people!!!
...But I digress, in the last point it is mentioned that if you buy organic you won't get GM, this is true, but I wish it wasn't, to get the most out of our agriculture we should be using all our tricks, organic methods with no till and GM crops designed for the climate with genetic variety and crop rotation, that way we can stop depleting farmland and cut our reliance on pesticides and fertilizers, sadly though I don't see that happening any time soon.
...GM crops as of yet are not created with the aim of creating exciting new flavors or phenotypes, the traits introduced are generally are pest, drought and herbicide resistance, which is quite boring actually.
(In fact taste is normally not selected for at all, take the 'flavorsaver' for example, but modern non GM varieties aren't selected for flavor either, which is why I grow my own heirloom veggies.)...
Broccolini is not the product of genetic engineering, neither is it the result of the insertion of one gene, it is the result of traditional breeding between two Brassica oleracea species, although the plants used were named correctly.
The grapple example was worse, it definitely isn't GM in fact it is regular fugi apples soaked in a flavoring soup...
broccolini is not genetic engineering, but selective breeding is still considered by many to be genetic modification. of course, natural selection is the great genetic modifier since all organisms are the result of mutation.
A grapple is not a GMO. It is an apple with grape flavor added to it. This lady doesn't know what she is talking about

Actually, apples, brocolly or meat are not "products" (I hate this word). An organism is not a "product". Its a living being.

Grapples aren't genetically modified. Basically just apples soaked in grape juice.
BodybuildingTom 2 years ago
you are right this woman is a idiot if she thinks a grapple is genticly modified
johnnythunderbass 2 years ago
Thanks, its really just insane how people pass things off as "genetically modified so its evil". Broccolini is a hybrid. What shes saying is ambiguous and meant to draw in people who don't know that GM foods have been around since the advent of domestication where selective breeding was started.
BodybuildingTom 2 years ago
BodybuildingTom- GMO foods have only been around in foods since 1996 or so, being approved by Bush (the First) in early 90's WITHOUT study. Hybrids are not "GMO" they are hybrids. Selective breeding is not GMO. GMO's use viruses and genetic splicings to introduce new features in the plant that have never previously been there. The plants either take in "fertilizer" (laced with poisons) or grow them as part of their cells (as in the case of GMO Bt-corn) you eat the poison as part of the meal.
malmswax 2 years ago 2
You guys who think that GMO's are less healthy for you are complete and utter morons. Organic foods and GMO's are nutritionally the same. Organic is not any better for you health-wise.
Zorrachus 2 years ago
Your a Moron. Go spray bug or ant killer in your mouth and tell me how it was. If if it kills or deters bugs away from the food then what is it doing to the cells in your body making them better LOL.
vulvamaster69 2 years ago
You're the moron. We have an immune system for a reason. Second, we are not taking anything away from the organism when it is introduced to chemicals. Third, they do not spray ant or bug killer on the food. They don't have to. There are safe and natural ways to keep bugs off crops.

I found yet another post of yours. First you are a liar, second an idiot and all around f*ckwad!!!!

I am not a liar. I am smarter than you, and your callin me names just iterates the fact that you are everything you called me.

Go to the dictionary and find some big words, see if there are any good latin words on the sheepskins your parents paid for (and wasted their money on).
malmswax 2 years ago 2
Degrees = knowledge. You just say that because you don't have any diplomas of any sort and are probably working the cash at Toys R Us.
I have presented proof in the other GMO discussion, read it, if you know how to read.
The rest of your post doesn't make sense so it seems you're delusional and psycho.
I grow herbs and vegetables in my greenhouse and all of them are organic. So, your impression of me eating all GMO's is obviously wrong.
Zorrachus 2 years ago
Person- you are a 13 year old kid who sits at a computer and writes blather. If you're not 13 then you are developmentally disabled.
Degrees=pieces of paper.
As far as your "proofs" they are nonsense. You contradict yourself and are prone to lie.

Actually, I am 25 years old and I run my own successful company. If you think degrees are pieces of paper, then you better quit working right now and go on welfare if your not already.
I did not contradict myself at all, my proof is valid and you have not proven your point anyway. Where is your proof? You the are dunderhead who is blinded by faith and is so gullible that you think God has a plan for everyone.

no shit. its like the idiots who list all their guns to impress people they will never ever meet
he has been whining about peer reviewed articles describing health problems with GM foods. i showed him a couple & he shut up pretty quickly

I just buy European food. American food is DISGUSTING. I still have to find and American tomato that has any taste. It's like card board no matter if it's grown on the vine or in season. Zero taste.
Tihbialdunav 2 years ago 3
I grow my own tomato's in my backyard and they very tasty . Organic of course.
vulvamaster69 2 years ago 2
are you getting paid to misinform? or did someone just tell you these things and you decided to call yourself and 'expert?!'
circlestream 2 years ago
wha?? grapples are made by soaking apples in grape juice for a long time. not genetic modification.
guitarrocker94 2 years ago 3
What you are describing is mild or passive forms of Genetic modification of foods, but the type more common like those invented by Monsanto and the like, have little if any scientific backed data on humans and what these manipulated proteins do to the human brain. There are studies that suggest GMO soy (resistant to Roundup) cause kidney and liver damage. They use a bacteria resistant to roundup and shoot the genes into the seed with a gene gun. Try to get some of your facts straight sweetie.
billydkid5 3 years ago 3
i saw a japanese study on gmo soy where they found that it doesnt break down in or out of the body until a temp of 300 degreese and since your body will never reach that temp, good luck to you!
circlestream 2 years ago
this is out and out misinformation! some might even say lies. "expert"???

NONSENSE, i know it's hard to decipher as we have been pumped full of mental and physical rubbish for so long. fyi: genocide does not = peace and liberation, and GMO's does not equal nutrition for a growing population. utter and outright lies....awaken to the truth people!!!
certifiedhealthnut 2 years ago
...But I digress, in the last point it is mentioned that if you buy organic you won't get GM, this is true, but I wish it wasn't, to get the most out of our agriculture we should be using all our tricks, organic methods with no till and GM crops designed for the climate with genetic variety and crop rotation, that way we can stop depleting farmland and cut our reliance on pesticides and fertilizers, sadly though I don't see that happening any time soon.
nardrey 3 years ago
...GM crops as of yet are not created with the aim of creating exciting new flavors or phenotypes, the traits introduced are generally are pest, drought and herbicide resistance, which is quite boring actually.
(In fact taste is normally not selected for at all, take the 'flavorsaver' for example, but modern non GM varieties aren't selected for flavor either, which is why I grow my own heirloom veggies.)...
nardrey 3 years ago
Wow, this is a silly video.
Broccolini is not the product of genetic engineering, neither is it the result of the insertion of one gene, it is the result of traditional breeding between two Brassica oleracea species, although the plants used were named correctly.
The grapple example was worse, it definitely isn't GM in fact it is regular fugi apples soaked in a flavoring soup...
nardrey 3 years ago 5
broccolini is not genetic engineering, but selective breeding is still considered by many to be genetic modification. of course, natural selection is the great genetic modifier since all organisms are the result of mutation.
