SOPHIA: Secret Wisdom Documentary - Orthodox Christian Monasticism (Part 2)

"Sophia" is the All-Holy Spirit with His gift of Wisdom flowing out from Divine Essence in the form of Energies. Without Christ Jesus in our hearts - He comes by our invitation and free choice in asking - there is no "Sophia" (Jn 15-17) He sends the Holy Spirit from the Father to every waiting and humble heart. No such thing as "wisdom" apart from the revelation of God throuh and in the Person ofChrist. Any other so-called wisdom is demonic from demonic counterfeits (i.e. Buddhist and Hindu).

Sorry, but I don't see this as being what God had in mind for the Christian life. Listening to these guys speak sounds more like Buddhism than Christianity. Jesus said we are to be salt and light. Salt and light are never of any use if they are separated unto themselves. Salt must be in contact with the food, and light must be in the midst of darkness. If Jesus is our model, He never embraced monasticism. It is merely a form of human self-righteousness, not found anywhere in scripture.

I'm sorry, but the whole HOAX of the "Illuminati' being anything other than a New Age/ 18th century philosophy club is unbelievable!! The Orthodox Church predates anything to do with the Illuminati !!

Very nicely done, although I don't like the title. We don't have secrets in the Orthodox Church. The wisdom that we seek comes to us through our prayers and God's revelation to us through His Holy Spirit.

@linuxdave01 You are right! The correct expression would be "mystical wisdom" not "secret". This is probably an inaccurate translation of the greek "mystikh sophia". The word "mystical" does not mean secret.

@mathafackanrone The use of an eye within a triangle on icons depicting Archangel Michael are not uncommon among the Churches, you will see many of such images in Greece, and even on some monasteries on Mt. Athos, and the Skulls and Bones, which represent Adam, were worn by Orthodox priests long before the Illuminati ever existed. Not all images carry a bad connotation with them just because a group of people steals it and tries to give new meanings to it, in order to support it's own agenda.
