  • God's desk-fan motor.

  • Great engine but not a very good video. I would really like to see you video with more detail. I stiil liked it!

  • I think it needs a heavier flywheel.

  • What is the center tappet and push rod for? it doesnt move like the onese beside it. is it a decompressor lift valve for easy starting?

  • chuck norris runs 20 of these in his tractor.

  • @gotDIRT4mx

He has a spare for his bicycle!

  • This engine was used in early aviation attempts. Producing 2 hp at 80 rpm it was deemed impractical

  • @ChrisXn777 at home I have on the supercharged series of this engine. It produces 90hp at 20 rpm :-D

  • I say its an ATLAS Imperial!! had one on the Titanic don't ye know!!! Lol!

  • schultz was looking for stalag 13

  • Antique !

  • nice engine.

  • Why's that man wearing a nazi helmet?

  • @naaibaar Thats not a "nazi" helmet. It´s a ww1 Stahlhelm you can tell by the ventilator lugs!

  • @naaibaar ITS NOT a nazi helmet ,dopey ,these type of helmet were worn long before anyone had even heard of nazis ,you mind controlled puppet :)

  • That's one big ass pointless engine.

  • watching the pushrods bounce is pretty cool

  • Paiste It could have come from the old film Metropolis from Fritz Lang, from 1926,I believe,or even from The Time Machine;one of the subterranean engines ,which could be heard but never seen, supplying power for the VATS!!

  • is it four or two stroke and from what year

  • @Noszkovonye Probably 2 stroke.

  • @MasterCSX

    Nope, it's a four-stroke. And air-start.

  • @MasterCSX 2strokes have reed valves not pushrods. Its a 4stroke

  • @scrotillathehun

I still think they got it from the centre of the earth, this must be why we are running out of oil in the world. Geez, those blokes had better put it back before the world stops working.

  • if you put that in a honda civic you can still beat it in a race by walking

  • is this an american engine ?

  • @blobby1972 Think it´s a very old swedish engine. Company name today is Atlas Copco

  • @fortune300 Atlas Copco makes Mining Products Now

  • @blobby1972 Yes. From Wikipedia: "Atlas-Imperial was an American manufacturer of diesel engines based in Oakland, California."

  • oh my god it huge

  • What did Sgt. Schlutz want to know about the engine?

  • @schlusselmensch lol I think he wanted to know if he could eat it.

  • Can you say "TORQUE"?

  • build that in a tug!

  • Look at the flywheel! Huge polar moment!

  • very strong

  • I like the WW1 model 16 German helmet...Love the old engine also.

  • looks like a marine engine with that huge flywheel!!

  • fuck, it looks like an engine from an old movie in the 30's that you would expect to find in the center of the earth powering everything

  • @Paiste402 LMAO!!!! Thats what I was thinking!!!

  • what r the middle pushrods for between the 2 pushrods that move?

    air valves for air starting?

  • Yes.

A similar four-cylinder engine was used to power two custom-built Caterpillar 60 tractors.

  • @tpvalley

probably pushes the injectors. Most diesel engine until very recently use the camshaft to push down on the fuel injector providing primary high fuel pressure, a simple vane syle pump electric or engine driven gets the fuel up to the fuel rail. The most recent development is common rail injection that is totally electronic, with VERY high fuel pressure... 20,000+ PSI.

  • @kens97sto171

they are not moving thats why I ask, air valves I think for starting.

  • @tpvalley

Ahh. I did not notice they were not moving. You may be right air start would make sense. The angle is kinda far away. It could be that the middle ones are moving less... on most of the semi truck engines I have seen the injector rockers move less than the valve rockers.

  • @kens97sto171

in fact there r 4 sets of rockers in total with only 2 moving!

  • Wearing a Nazi Helmet and loose fitting shirt tails are a bad idea around moving parts.

  • Wow this is a great engine!

  • lets see some more run time, I would trade half my collection for that engine. Very nice video. Phil

  • What a piece of beautiful machinery!

    Runs like a metronome.

  • Hello I'm from argentina an original restored Ruston hope you see luck
