  • How can he create MAXIMUM with the FED gone

  • The greatest capitalist of all time, that lived during the time the US had a free market was Henry Ford. He raised wages 500%. The banks, unions fought with him against this and destroyed his idea of "wage motive"

  • I like the sound of maximum wage!

  • Free markets will not create a maximum wage. In a free market the rich get richer and the poor get richer. The rich get richer by a larger amount but the wealth gap does not matter. What matters is the standard of living for the poor.

  • @Scoforever "Free markets will not create a maximum wage."

You're wrong. A maximum wage would be created by competition in the free market. To pay higher wages, you have to charge more. You can only charge so much until your competition prices you out of the market. The reason why this doesn't happen now is because big corporations lobby washington for regulations that make it difficult to impossible to comply (too expensive) and therefore, impossible to compete with them.

  • @jjenson2006 that might work if corporations werent greedy as hell they would undoubtedly pay people as little as possibly and charge as much as possible all i can see this doing is making it easier for companies to exploit people and make even larger profit margins then they do now

  • @kris6682 Corporations aren't greedy because corporations aren't people. People are greedy, everyone of us. If we have a skill, we find the company that pays us the most. If we don't have a skill, we are grateful if someone will employ us. Minimum wage takes away opportunities from those who are unskilled, usually these are teens or seniors who just want to make themselve usefull. People who take jobs for less than they're worth are exploiting THEMSELVES. No one is forced to take a job.

  • Each state has a min wage requ, but i don't remember where in the constitution it gives the fed the authority to regulate one... Now I do recall it having the power is to control taxes, so what I would recommend would be an elimination of income tax on the first 50k of every Americans income... that would effectively be an increase of 10-15% to someone earning minimum wage... Also in coupe with a sound currency would be more in line with how the income tax was implimented in 1913, instead of now

  • Good point. But the Fed has no authority to regulate one under the constitution. In fact, the Federal Reserve itself is unconstitutional. I like your idea, instead of fudging with minimum wage which hurts the economy, we should FIRST look at where we can increase our 'income' by having less taken from us by our greedy government.

  • Increases to the minimum wage would not be needed if we weren't debasing the value of our currency... soundness would also be key in addition to increasing the exemption... Then we can provide greater incentives for individuals to wean off welfare and social programs... Then we also need to look at our jobs... We want productive ones. In the Soviet Union unemployment was almost 0%, but we don't want people to have jobs just for the sake of working, we want the productivity which creates wealth

  • THIS IS NOT A FREE MARKET in America. Ron Paul exposed as just another repug right here.

  • You don't know wtf you are talking about. Minimum wage is crap. If we didn't have minimum wage, businesses everywhere couldn't get away with paying 1 dollar or whatever over it, and claim to pay fair.... I get 8.00 an hour at my job for example, but when minimum wage jumps to $7.25, it only helps those making lower than that (the people who generally have no one to support but themselves) and ultimately reduces everyone elses standard of living in time. Labor unions ARE BAD.

  • If it were up to me, I would phase in $13.00 Min wage and make it keep up with inflation. Say what you want about unions, and I would agree with some of your points. But ownership by the people is better than the richest 5% controlling everything.

Why are you making $8 when YOUR prodictivity increases? Who's getting the gains of your labor? Dont be a wage slave going against your own best intrests. Peace

  • inflation occurs because of our government primarily, because of the federal reserve and how it operates. I make $8 an hour because productivity of my job is what they pay, the only raises one could ever expect AND have to ask for is time based, 6 months, a year, and they only comply to keep the reliable ones especially in my field where a lot of people quit. I HAVE to be a wage slave because what the government isn't taking, and I'm not spending on cost of living, and I'm saving for school.

  • @maulhoik how would any company employ anyone worth less than $13 an hour then??? that would cause a lot of unemployment

  • That's a good fear tactic, nothing else. I'm sure that if you suggested 40 years ago that it's possible to pay CEOs 380 times the wage of regular employers you would get the same claim. In that same 40 year period, by the way, productivity per worker has doubled while minimum wage can't even keep up with inflation.

I hear what you're saying. But open your eyes to the game that's been played for decades based on abstractions and illusions. We have been played for fools, my friend.

  • @maulhoik wat about a bum who cant even flip burgers for mcdonalds. Shouldnt he be able to hold a mcdonalds sign for $3 an hour if he cannot provide enough revenue for minimum wage? Companie dont hire people if it is losing the money

  • He was joking you morons. Free-market means wages can be as high as peoples individual activity precludes. This is propaganda.

    This video is Marxist propaganda.

  • Looks like that "deregulate the free market" idea might not be so hot after all. ;)

  • Free barrier competitive markets are the answer, make the rich fight for our money instead of turning politicians rich and falling for the collectivist ideals! It's time for liberty and prosperity to reign again!

  • Ron Paul rules.

  • @bloop1100 Our country would be a lot better off if he did "rule" :D

  • Thank You Nevada

    :D

  • If I was a CEO and cut my own pay by a couple million dollars a year the cost of my product goes down. Competition would force companies and corporations to be more thrifty in order to compete in a free market.

    Sound and sage like advice.

  • What he meant to say was that under the prosperity that a truly free market would invigorate we would have the least bit of concern about wages being low but instead the way we accomplish the maximum wage for workers is to keep the free markets.

  • If this will be misunderstood, then explain it. Explain that in a free market everyone is paid what they are worth and competition for labor drives the price of labor (wages) up in most cases.

In California most illegal immigrants are paid above minimum wage. That is a completely unregulated system in terms of how people are paid and labor being exchanged for money and they still make between $7-$9/hour picking grapes.

  • Absolutely msumoney, in a market with no minimum wage unemployment is almost nonexistant, and with everyone working competetive wages are required if employers want to have employees - so the wage sets itself.

  • Thanks to everyone in MI,we all owe you a big thank you today!

    Ron Paul rEVOLution rolls on!

  • In a free market Ford created the minimum wage not government.

  • I got 10 people willing to work for me.

If government wouldn't mandate what I had to pay them, we could be in business making stuff people need, RIGHT NOW!

Instead, we produce nothing, and nobody works.

Way to stifle the Free Market, socialist government assholes.

  • Poor video. Will be misunderstood.

  • yeah .. slip of the tongue.
