Great video. I'm going to show this to my friend, who is as socially liberal as you can get, but has been brainwashed into being fiscally conservative just from his dad watching a dude cry about how awful it is that Obama wants to raise his and other billionaires taxes by a few dollars to help homeless people.
@michaelwuzthere Anyone that thinks that book was not about the results of communism is DEFINITELY retarded. What better view of communism than from a socialist. It is why it was required reading in school back when we all knew what communism really was. Unlike retarded people such as yourself that want to yet again make another attempt at a failed system. So go ahead and tell me all about FAIL. Coming from such an ignoramus that is nothing short of a compliment. Dosvidanya moi tovareesh!
Sorry touch screen typo,Father was put to work as a child,so was his brother! They came to Canada,others to US for a better life & opportunity. My Father did quite well. Occupier's don't want to work. They live for free on our welfare,that ALL working ppl pay for,but they want more. Somebody told these idiot's, that communism will get them more. It is a lie!
we have opportunity here & free society. Opportunity that you don't have in communism. In Socialist Russia,if you don't work 3 months,you go to jail & are forced labour for your keep for however long your sentence. In most Socialist countries,if that doesn't happen,you simply starve. My Fatuer put to work in Socialist Italy @age 7,to help support his poor family! Socialism!!Fact not fiction!
We already have socialism,but without capitalism,our economies will never survive,as with Russia,Cuba,China! They are also ALL under dictatorship rule! Vladimir Putin is a totalitarian,look at Egypt,fully socialist,under military rule from a fromer dictator..I can make documented points throughout the history of communism & socialism. In North America,how hard u work & how smart u are,mainly dictate what u make.
Try something intellectual & logical. Out of the 5 remaining communist regimes,name one for me that is free,not badly oppressed & under dictatorship. Did you know that Somalia's current situation is due to failed communism? I can produce extensive research & study by more than one .phd against socialist /communist societies. Also in a socialist society,you don't work you starge. your free ride here will be over! No thriving Socialist countries either! Fact!

Alex, you are spouting random words tha have no meaning. Can you not come up with a more lointelligent & logical retort than that? This video is pure propaganda & lies. Fact is,what you call scietific is pure propaganda
This is complete bullshit!! There is no freedom in Communism Occutards!! There are no thriving Socialist or communist societies,only oppression You live in a free world now! In Canada & USA,you are getting a fee ride! In a socialist country,if you don't work, you don't eat,simple! In some,you may even be jailed & put into forced labor to pay your way,sometimes for years! Ignorant Occutards!!
The socialist countries referred to in the video are not "corrupt police states". They are historic advances of the working class. They are limited by the fact that they must exist alongside hostile capitalist and especially, imperialist states. Socialism always improves conditions for the working class.
Not sure if it's correct to say that Socialism is merely a step toward, or 'transition' to Communism. Communism is a further left ideology compared to Socialism. Communism denotes more complex state planning and a central government with fairly large state bureaucracy.
You're correct to say Socialism grows out of Capitalism and can therefore lead on to Communism, however, Communism is more of a political AND economic belief than solely economic like Socialism.
Socialism and comunism is the enrichment, though the aspiring ruler, of the mayority,people who do too little plus a king status to the ruler and his friends, and the lack of reward to the real working bright citiznes. I hope people realise that the administration is not the strong of a nation, but its ideas and visions. Accountants are turning out to be more important than musicians, F**k that.
Also, What does communism think about if i had to donate a kidney to my mother or a random guy in for example in germany, everyone is equal right? U get my point, i have wondered along time on this subject
I'm in favor of something like Socialism.Unfortunately,the human race will never successfully achieve this until we have matured more as a race.At this point,we may very well end up heading down this path sooner than we realize,should we continue to wage wars and use up our natural resources.Once this has happened,we just may have no choice and it may become a necessity if the human race wants to survive beyond the point of our own selfishness,otherwise we may just end up destroy ourselves.
Places like the soviets and Cuba, wanted to implement what was described in the scientific definition, trouble is people don't operate like that and it always degrades into what we see as the non scientific definition.
Of the 32 states which receive more than they contribute, 21 states (65.6%) are Republican. Of the 18 states which contribute more than they receive, 17 states (94.4%) are Democratic. Red states simply have more welfare and social security recipients than blue states. Both their taxes and federal funding needs to be cut, after all that is what they voted for. They also strongly believe in states' rights. They'll be reaping what they sowed.
I see a lot of Americans say "our economy". How is it "your economy" if the institutions you are referring to are privately owned? Because it happens to be located on particular soil?
Every time I talk to people advocating communism, they never really give any facts to support their claims. The question at 3:13 was met, not with facts but with wishful thinking, they will do this they will do that. The answer to 1:52 is something I also heard before; in a safe system nobody will want more, but a safe system IS the ultimate hotbed for manipulation and want. The reason Communism is compared to e.g. Soviet, China etc. is because it's the only comparison we got other than words.
@SimonSays288 Honestly, that last part is exactly right. They CALL themselves Communist but so did WE in similar propaganda. I dont think the video maker contests that. I think that what the writer is saying is that a better world is not only necessary, but possible once you take care of the masses, making sure their needs are met before the wealthy, and not allowing the rich to BE so manipulative. But as far as "wishful thinking" goes, the same was said about Capitalism.
@Tyco200 You're under the false assumption people would use currency in a socialist or communist society... Commodities for the welfare of every individual resident of said society is all that is to be weighed, evenly, for all members. People will do what they must in order to reach a point where we won't have to do anything anymore. We've reached that point technologically a long time ago, however socially capitalism is robbing us of our capacity to distribute goods for the people, not profits.
stupid commies! How well has communism worked before? You implement a system like that and it turns to dictatorship. Sounds nice til u get a nut job in office! people are oppresed and all the wealth goes to the bureaucracy. Bigger govt. always leads to more corruption.
@MrRichmich China and Rusia were facist states not comunism, the comunis has never exist, and I still thinking than never will exist because of the greedy nature of we humans, in China the politicians never lived like the regular people, and they were having privilegies too, if China were a comunist state,. everybody will leave equal ,, also the rulers of the contries and this of course never was true
"Consequently, one barrier to mature understanding of recent history is the notion that all capitalists are the bitter and unswerving enemies of all Marxists and socialists. This erroneous idea originated with Karl Marx and was undoubtedly useful to his purposes. In fact, the idea is nonsense. There has been a continuing, albeit concealed, alliance between international political capitalists and international revolutionary socialists — to their mutual benefit. " - Sutton
But what about so called luxury items, such as boats, etc. Why can't we have public boats to use? TV? If greed isntvan issue, you can have what you want, supply being the factor. But you shouldn't go through them like today. But much of the fine details would have to be determined, like as with Capitalism, by society. Actually, more so. As long as the economy is people centered, it can only get better.
@jediknight36 TV and other entertainment is a distraction from the real world. That's why so many of my fellow Americans are dumbed down :( It's all brainwashing.
The ideal goal is to produce what society wants and needs, and not to over produce, like what happens today. We go back to making things last, and upgradeable. From each according to their ability, to each according to their needs.
@jediknight36 Trade is mutually beneficial otherwise people would not do it. It's not one sided or a zero sum gain.
Value is subjective not objective. You have your own personal preferences as to what should be produced and what should not. So if there is a product or service that is being produced that you personally don't like you'll just say it's over produced, not needed or wanted. Somebody else obviously needs or wants the good or service otherwise they would not buy it.
While the details of such an economy are something that society as a whole would have to work out, the means of production would be owned by the population. This means that every product that is produced is partially owned by you. You, as a worker, have a vested interest in doing the best you can. Weather that means a government body manages the " company " or that there just is no owner, but instead a collective, would be more like it. Either one, as long as the workers own it, would work.
hey guys could some one explain how a Communist economy would operate without free enterprise. Like is everday commoditys centalized and run by an administration or what?
I think that people today consider the soviet union as a communist nation too much to actually consider that actual communism might actually be a good thing. Like for a while I thought that capitalism was awesome until I figured out what it really was.
@Packerd01 That is more of a dictatorship. In my view, communism is a simple system that simply cannot succeed. In many nations (China, former Soviet Union, Russia of today, Greece and Ireland) we see that these nations are reliant on the rich (capitalism) to give them revenue. If you tax the rich, which destroys private business, you will eventually have no new money. Government then will simply suck off what it has, and, become a bankrupt Greece. It is wrong to say "Communism results in evil!"
There is no hope for the idiots posting below. They have seen the video, and yet they still claim the left to be their boogeyman, the great oppressor of 'freedom', and all that typical bull. I can only hope that with maturity, they gain new perspectives on this matter so that they at least acknowledge communism as a viable option and a pure cause.
I see... so communism relies on an absolute abundance of resources to function? Makes sense...no wonder it doesn't work when the absolute abundance of resources is provided by a working class. It seem communism will only work with slaves or robots.
@3:24 I understand all of the points made regarding reasons people work other than money, but what about when similar companies with the same target market (ex. Coke and Pepsi, or Microsoft and Apple) arise? Wouldn't competition and motivation for bigger profit have to eventually come into play?
@theyeti101101 first off, you have to remember that acording to Karl Marx, communism does not have a monatary system, and the idea is that the primary goal of commuism acording to Karl Marx is that the improvements of the human race (nation/continent/world itself) driving force behind it all. Communism is not only a political idea, but also an alteration of mentality for it to work. Best exsample I can give you, is, ironically, a huge US franchise: Star Trek.
I think the point is that in true communism, people wont have to work at all, they can spend all their time doing what they choose to do so competition will arise between corganisations but only for the sake of competing, like sport. The point is that if we embraced that kind of thinking then we could all struggle for a couple hundred years and then our great grand children would never have to work.
I trust annoyed me that they didn't decide to work towards a goal of no-one having to work 300 years ago.
I think if you respect human intelligence then you should relise that we are 100% capable of achieving a society where no one has to clean or farm or build... unless they want to. No one should have to do the demeaning jobs.
Capitalism promotes the 'working class' and ads meaning to meaningless existence by paying them for it.
Again deffinitions.. Take Venezuela (Cuba) as an example:
Put this in practice, and what you get is every aspect of the economy (even at micro level) and military politicized.
This put into undeveloped societies creates the need of a sole icon, and a very reduced ("trusted") CLASS of society: politician. These politicians and then necessarily called "miembros del partido".
search for milicias populares, ley sapo, talanquera, crimen de conciencia, inform yourself. No textbook, see venezuela
@MARIJUANA41011 (continued) Look at Cuba and Eastern Europe: one has its citizens constantly trying to go over to the U.S., and the other is distinctly poorer than the rest of Europe. In my opinion, Eastern Europe is poorer than the rest of Europe because of how heavily the Soviets taxed and regulated them. If the people aren't allowed to operate and trade freely, how can a society be rich and full of new technologies?
@MARIJUANA41011 The Nazis stripped the German people of their gun rights as soon as they took power. To quote Hitler, "History shows that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by so doing." Communists believe in the righteousness of big government, and so did the Nazis.
My second point: only in the ideal communist society do people have all that they need. That's never true in practice. Look at Eastern Europe and Cuba: (continued)
@MARIJUANA41011 People are conditioned to do business with people, and I'll concede that that business isn't always completely honest. However, most people don't do that. Humans aren't perfect, but we're not evil, either. I have absolute faith that the vast majority of people in the capitalist economy will conduct their business honestly and compete with other business owners according to the Ten Commandments.
@MARIJUANA41011 If you're asking me what I mean by "legalized theft", I'm referring to the taxes that are required to fund a communist regime. That's what taxes are: money exacted from civilians' pockets with or without the civilians' consent. Communism is impossible without legalized theft because when communism is put into practice, people invariably look to expanding the government in order to have their communist utopia.
@MARIJUANA41011 The theft in capitalism is made possible by the stupidity of the masses (which is their own fault, in my opinion). The theft in communism is made possible by the fact that you're simply unarmed.
It's hard to find useful information in these commentaries without running into an instance of one YouTube-er insulting another. Can we ever have an objective argument regarding Communism, Socialism and Capitalism?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I hope that the reason so many people liked this video because of the guy arguing AGAINST communism rather than because of the guy that is ADVOCATING communism. To advocate the viewpoint that equal result through unequal abilities is fair violates every law of nature and runs afoul of the laws of intelligence.
@jrzckr define "laws of nature". It has been working for hundreds if not thousands of years. And, capitalism is dependent on socialism to work. Not the other way around. And who said everyone's abilities were equal? At least in socialism everyone is treated equally and given an equal opportunity in life. No silver spoons, no poverty.
@jediknight36 You are treated equally by being given the equal opportunity to get the same results that the rich have obtained in capitalism. There is poverty in socialism. When there is redistribution of wealth because those without means are voting for politicians to make taxes disproportionately higher against those with means, that is theft legalized through representative democracy. You cant create equal results unless you disadvantage those who are more hard working thorough legislation
@jrzckr Exactly! Communism in theory (the 'scientific definition') is something even capitalists (like myself) want. Communism in practice is never without a kind of legalized theft.
@jrzckr Although, I have to admit that capitalism is also kind of theft-oriented, but it's never done with the might of the police forces. The closest example where capitalism resembles routine intimidation (like legislation) is gang activities, which isn't actually capitalism (aren't those gang members frequently on taxpayer-funded welfare?).
@jediknight36 Without profit, there cannot be a reason for middle class people to work. Without work, means government will have a harder time taxing the people. With private-jobs and wealth, you can create government revenue/hence raise taxes without worrying too much. But if you tax the rich before until they have nothing at the idea of "wealth distribution", then what is the need for them to work if it doesn't benefit? Eventually, the lemon will run out of juice, and you will have Greece.
@jediknight36 How so? Communism depends on revenue, that comes from taxes. In places like Greece, where they turned to Socialism, they taxed the rich heavily until they had no money. Eventually, they squeezed the lemon until it was out of juice, and, had no money to pay for free social systems. The people, meanwhile, angered to giving their freedoms for nothing and being officially dependant upon Government, cannot settle for cuts. ;) Therefore, Communism is dependant on Capitalism's revenue.
@jediknight36 If you imply heavy taxes upon the rich and middle class people, you will eventually destroy private businesses. It will also make it harder for those who need low taxes to survive (middle class) to actually feed their families/pay taxes from their little jobs. In a communist society, there is no profit. Therefore, people won't work. Also, in socialism, government relies on national wealth to supply free healthcare, welfare, etc. Without the money of capitalism, they can't pay.
Investigation into the roots of these exoteric interpretations reveals centuries of deliberate re-writing, & cutouts around the interests of ruling imperial forces. If these "spiritual" ideas were true, they'd be consistent with truths verifiable on the other levels of our experience -- emotional, mental, biological, social, cultural, historical, etc. They simply aren't, & are socially corrosive, emotionally damaging, & scientifically absurd. Blind faith is antithetical to true Gnosis, or Vidya.
But its a necessary piece in the puzzle of building a sustainable, just, happy human world. The notion of human nature being a fixed, unchangingly evil essence is ascientific, false, & has its roots in the exoteric Abrahamic idea of original sin and essential sinful nature of humanity, which has only ever been a weapon of state control via guilt and fear.
An important point to add, is that the notion of "human nature" is simply an excuse to delegate our behavior and social problems to a realm outside our control. Marx can be considered the first Western social constructionist, recognizing that human behavior is largely conditioned by its social, cultural, and economic contexts and history.
Ones personal psychology is conditioned by ones responses to their life circumstances. All these things are modifiable. Communism works on the economic and structural levels, which also effect culture, social behavior, and the contexts our life stories and circumstances arise in (and therefore our personal psychology). This, of course, doesn't mean a planned economy would fix everything (economic determinism).
@aspaciousmind You Leftists are hopelessly married to ideas that are dying in the face of hard research. Like the left everywhere, it’s losing it framework and substance.
When the new field of science – behavioral genetics – comes to dominate psychology and human sciences, then the RIGHT WING is gong to step in and assume moral authority over this information and its interpretation.
You're kind of a fool. Every country that is or was communist has been terrible. So there's a true defenition of communism that wasn't followed. No shit Sherlock. Did you ever watch Macgyver? He fought terrorist which were mainly Russians. Our defenition of a terorist has changed so has the defenition of communism. Today communism means make up the rules as you go along. You're defeining it by what it should be and not by what it actually is, which is evil at it's best.
So here's hoping that you'll answer my question friend. I understand that in an actual communist state, there will be no money, everything is free and all are equal which I agree highly with. I also understand that there will be no ruling class as most people think because of the USSR. But here's my question; in a communist state would be people vote on things or who or what would make decisions? And if government is ran by the people for the people isnt that basically another form of democracy?
@cbcrog Thank you for an intelligent question. Communism is pure democracy. The people have direct access to change how the state is run. We have a representative democracy now and because only the rich have the money to run for office, only the rich are elected. So we have to get them out of the way. The people should have direct access to change how the state runs. But even some communist theories that the state will eventually dissolve and nationality will too. But thats even over my head.
@jediknight36 Ok cool. So basically the USSR, China, North Korea and Cuba have basically done to communism what the United States has done to democracy, which is twisted and made it so that its only a former image of what our founding fathers intended correct? Also, is the communist theories you spoke of basically trying to say that everntually the world will unite as humanity? Because i can really agree with that
@cbcrog Exactly. While these countries have socialistic tendencies, and they work very well, it isnt really communism. Some countries have socialism working in their countries, like German and Sweden, more so than in the US and even the UK. Thanks to Reagan and Thatcher that is. Trying to predict what humanity will do when we get to that point is like the Romans trying to predict the rise of the US. Its so far out there, but we must keep fighting. Eventually, the world will unite as humans.
@jediknight36 Ok just a few more questions and one of them is your personal opinion. First, isnt socialism the bridging from a non communist state into one so its kind of like the transistional period correct? And also, I know that one of the basis of communism is there needs to be no religion, as it is a tool to keep people oppressed. This is the only part I dont like. While I feel people have used religion in various form for manipulation, I feel its like com. and dem. just twisted. You?
@cbcrog Socialism is the term for the transition from worker led economy to workers running the state. As far as religion goes, Marx is always misquoted. He said, " Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people." But it is always misquoted and out of context. The next sentence is, "The abolition of religion as the illusory happiness of the people is the demand for their real happiness. "
@cbcrog He neither supported nor was against it as far as the people were concerned, except as its use as a tool to oppress the working class. Personally, he was Atheist. And Marx was just a human. Even if he was rabidly against religion, that doesn't mean WE have to be. But Marx would be even more outspoken if he saw todays Christian and Catholic church. Oi!
@jediknight36 haha agreed. See my view is that each man should be entitled to his own personal beliefs, and that just because someone or something is different doesnt mean u have to like them, but u damn sure dont get to hate them. So in the end, while I do believe in God, if the next man does not that is not my business. And as long they can let me be, I will return the favor. So good talk and thank you for answering my questions.
@jediknight36 oh also, yes I do believe that the Church is acting just as the government is, getting away from what the core message is and twisting it to their own personal favor. Which is extremely wrong to me.
@cbcrog To call on them to give up their illusions about their condition is to call on them to give up a condition that requires illusions." So he is talking about abolishing religion by taking the conditions away that support it, mainly the peoples suffering at the hands of oppression. And most religions of the world teach the same kinds of ideas that Marx did, but Marx is saying people dont need a God to do that. And I know MANY christian communists.
It's possible that socialism and capitalism can function properly if they are done the way they are supposed to be done. As you can see from past and present examples when they go wrong they really go wrong.
To all: if you dont think capitalism has a built-in oppression (the fact that some can accumulate power through money and manipulation) than not only did you not pay attention to the video, you dont pay attention to life on this planet, and you dont do any real research on the topic. All socialist countries (Norway is Democratic Socialist, and the people fight every day for what they have) are doing just fine. The USSR, if you read into it, was corrupted from the inside out by capitalism. Duh!
Capitalism is real evil, look at USA is a nation of drug addiction, rapes, violence, and on the economic side its real bad, its almost impossible to get out of poverty in America. In this country only a few enjoy happiness, while the majority is sad. We need a system for happiness, wealth and luxuries for all americans not just a few
The part about the core of Linux is not a 100% true. Some people like those at redhat were paid to make parts of linux which were then added to all linux distros over time.
Good video! Although i do feel like the biggest problem with communism is it's utopian nature. The 3 problems i see with ever practically implementing communism are actually the ones you (somewhat) addressed in the video. Getting people to work without profit types of motivation, stopping classes from rising up, and establishing a civil society without organized government. Could u PM me, i'd like to discuss this with you further, thanks!
(first off i'll let you know i'm a libertarian) ok, the problem you overlook is that to get to communism you must have a transition. It must be orchestrated. What is keeping the orchestrators of this system from rigging it? The ones whom would have the power to lead this change would be the ones best positioned to do so.. The ones best positioned would have the backing of corporations (secretly) to fund and propagate the message to the masses.. Are you trusting them to be benevolent?
The ones who follow them are really the ones who must keep it from being rigged. Either that or a really good leader who is willing to step down from power much like George Washington but communist.
@Comanglia the ones following are duped dude.. cuz they are following basically fluff.. eh.. This philosophy is non obtainable.. and if it was it would fail pretty quickly.
The same has been said for nearly all ideologies. At one point Capitalism (by Mercantilists, Communists, Socialists, and Fascists). Democracy (by Monarchists). Communism and Socialism (by Capitalists and Fascists) Fascism (by Capitalists, Communists, and Socialists). Honestly as I see it history automatically discredits your argument just because it has been used for almost every thing imaginable and usually the argument turns out to be wrong.
@Comanglia pure capitalism(not the corporatism we have today)would work due to the lack of power people could buy. The market would decide, not politicians. Today we have a federal reserve that minipulates markets and bails out it's buddies and prints money out of thin air. When we get a president that believes in freedom, like a Ron Paul, we can get rid of all the powers the presidency has accumulated over the last hundred years or so and repeal the federal reserve act.. then it's all good yo
You obviously did not read my reply. I said that mercantilists used a very similar argument that you used but towards capitalism. I did not say that capitalism could or even could not work. Next time read my reply before posting. Also you may need to look at capitalism in the mid 19th century it was horrible.
The creator of the video wants to completely disregard all the past failed attempts of societys under the rule of communism. We are suppose to learn from the trends of history.
I like the idea of communism, but I doubt its overall feasibility. Even if the majority of the people involved in the transition process are honestly devoted to the cause, it doesn't take much for just a few corrupt people to ruin the entire system from within. Then again, the same could be said of any government, so maybe I'm just cynical and sticking to what I know. Still a good vid, though. Will show it to some pundit followers I know.
capitalism is easier. capitalism gave us youtube. and your computer. and your 3d software. fail. maybe i want to be rich? maybe i want to be better? why am i not allowed to be rich?
Alright so if you believe in socialism and communism then....
A. Share your money and things with me, it's a start.
B. People like me won't want to study harder and longer to become a doctor when I can graduate high school and get an easier job like custodian and get the same pay basically.
So basically I see one big flaw right there. So either capitalism FTMFW or you get millions of people with my ideology.
@MrGunman11 A.Alright since you join the Communist model, you shall share yours aswell B. Ironic since Doctors still finish ther education even in countries where there pay is lousy at best like Poland. Guess there motivated by something more than greed - like Intrest in medicine for example.
@supajasiu To tell you the truth I don't have much, you can have my broken shitty laptop which I am writing this from, and what do you have that you can trade with me?
@MrGunman11 Sure, since the communion model would be in motion I'll just take it to be fixed at the local electronics, or heck have it replaced - thanks!
And no sorry, theres no "tradeing" in the communion since material possesions are easily obtained for "nothing" save your labore, you work for "fre" and get "free" shit to put bluntly. So Tradeing with you would have no point really since anything you have I could get for "free" :P
@supajasiu Alright then so what is really the point of me giving you any of my shitty stuff, yet you have all the good stuff. How about we start there?
@MrGunman11 Well none really, since under communism if you have Shitty stuff is only on account you want to, you can get good stuff at the same rate as shitty stuff.
The general principle seems like a good one, but I was wondering about what could be done to address problems seperate from class warfare. 1. Wouldn't a modified police force be needed to address violent crime? And a modified military for non-domestic threats? 2. Who decides the value of output in the absense of a market? If the answer is representatives, what could be done to keep them from forming a class? 3. How would banking and the money system work w/o private investment?
It's great that they used Linux as an example, its an example of why this system doesn't work. There is no scarcity in computers, I write a program in a day and one person to half the world is able to copy that small amount of work with no more work on my part. If I had to make something physical, I would have to make it for each individual person who wanted one. Why would anyone do that for free? Communism works great when it doesn't take scarcity or human nature to account. Thats why it fails.
the reason that those who aren't communists or socialists can't just define what communism and socialism are by themselves is based on history and then, the natural thing of those carrying the label are going to be who thinks about it the most. you can't logically tell people what they really think. so yeah n koreans can call themselves communist if they really want but its the idea of political parties , not everyone has to agree. fuck n koreans and so on and so forth. lol.
Tyranny resides in any form under any political structure if left unchecked. I think all that needs to be addressed here is morality. Get that in check and you'll have your utopian society.
I laughed so hard at this. Everyone is equal, but the state is there to make sure everything is fair. Who has the real power? Not the people. They have you by the balls in every aspect of your life. Don't bother to have aspirations. Those are wrong and unfair. You are expected to live like a rabbit in a cage producing for the ruling class that which you may not indulge in. You can bet those in the ruling class that keep everything "fair" will be more equal than you. Go to hell Commies.
trololo lololol olololol but idk i think we need a military it just needs to be democratic i.e. everyone is equal within it and is trained and has lots of weapons. a lot of people misunderstand communist ideas. you don't need to have a society of saints. in fact im pretty sure a society of devil worshippers could pull of communism and be happy in their high strung deviousness.
I don't get how there can be abundance, if there is more people won't there be less abundance. What happen if their is too much people, won't it cause wars and all that, finally if you give people to choice to work, I know some people will work, but what about those who don't?
@leunghanwai that's an understandable argument in a capitalist society, but in a socialist society, all people will have been raised as children in the same nature and would all develop a uniform style of morals and standards which would mean, over time, there will be no "bad eggs."
This could be achieved in America (socialism that is) by having every workplace a workers co-op. Following that and ensure that working class people have exclusive say to political power and formulation of a system to ensure mass and free education.
just a general response to this video. the two largest and most well known of any communist countries are the union of soviet socialist republics and the people's republic of china. the ussr collapsed and china has gotten rid of socialism in favor of capitalism so obviously what should be drawn from that is that socialism is not good and capitalism id better
if communism and socialism aren't "evil" then why haven't they succeeded in the past? why is it that a republic democracy has stayed mostly intact for so long in contrast to nations like the soviet union, if they weren't a communism, then why are they called communists? so far communism and socialism have been tools of oppression, what makes you think they wont be used the same way in the future
@xpoom3 You obviously didnt watch the video, but I will expound now, and in the next video :D Lenin said that the Soviet Union was in a transitional state, meaning they were not Capitalism per se, but not communist either, though they were the closest thing since Le Commune de Paris (look it up) but when Lenin died, Stalin and the US/UK/Capitalist countries all used "Communism" as a propaganda to either build up or villainize the USSR, depending on who was using it. Capitalism oppresses.
@jediknight36 since when does capitalism oppress? communism is the most oppressive form of modern government along with autocratic dictators and give their people absolutely no freedom to do anything they want. capitalism is used in democratic-republics that are based upon constitutions that give all people certain rights that cannot be taken away from them.
@retartedmorron Your name says it all.... And you havent watched the video, or read a book outside of school. I dont owe you an education, go read a book.
@jediknight36 thank you for blowing over my point entirely. here's another point; the overall prosperity level in the United States (one of the most capitalist countries in the world) is better than any socialist economy's is and we in America have never experienced famine which is something that soviets faced at least once every three or four years. Americans have the chance to go from the bottom 2% to the top 2% of the wage spectrum. so what again were the great benefits of socialism?
come on, that is as much of a generalization and, if not a misconception, then at the very a hyperbolization, as calling communism evil, oppressive, controlling, etc;
also, you can't just have people work completely what they want; imagine 10% of people wanted to grow 90% wanted to write books; that would a society of starving intellectuals; in capitalism, you have jobs created by circumstances;
@jediknight36 this allows a regulation of the workforce with respect to the needs of the people; you could have machines that allows 1 person to make the food of 10 or ever 100; than yes, you can have 10% farming, 90% doing whatever the hell they want; and this gives a motivation to make those machines; in time, capitalism will lead to advanced technologies and better quality of life;
that;s the theory; can it go wrong? of course (like the tendency of turning into corporatism);
the same goes for communism; it has a theory; did it go wrong? oh yes...
you see calling capitalism intrinsically oppressive is as narrow minded an argument as is xpoom and retardedmoron's arguments;
I think a balance between socialism and capitalism is the best course of action; and NOT just because of theory; Sweden and Norway have such a system and they are very developed; Norway in fact has the no1 highest HUMAN DEVELOPMENT INDEX OF ALL THE 200 UN member states;
@xpoom3 They are called communist because the parties that ruled them called themselves "Communist Parties". The parties themselves called the societies in which they ruled over "Socialist".
i give this advice to all my fellow fox news watching americans. turn off the television and read a fucking book. you wanna know what communism/socialism read what marx wrote and when you think you have learned everything keep reading. knowledge is power, cause reading a bias definition or listening to that corporate shill beck will not make you intelligent, just turn you into a capitalist sheep.
Socialism sucks, communism stinks, they killed 120 millions of their own people around the world and had 80 years to make it and did not work, still they are not convinced that it does not work, how stupid communists are. LOL
@rossusa That wasnt communism you dumb fuck. That was state capitalism. Either you didnt watch the video, dont know your history, or both. And you dont understand how the world works at all. First of all, if socialism is so bad, quit driving government inspected vehicles on public highways to the PUBLIC library, to use a SOCIALIST government subsidized computer on and equally government subsidized internet, probably on a communist browser like Firefox, that uses Public Utilities.
@jediknight36 Most likely you are one of those losers who did not work , get educated or had the money to travel and see the communist countries. life in Europe is crap, they are bunch of potato eaters and they live in a place that is not enough for my dog to survive. I know the brain of you guys is frozen and you are always asking the labor to get united with you to go to the rich people house and steal their belonging and you dream it every night. communism is CRAP and communists are idiots.
@jediknight36 Im in Germany NOW douche bag. At least I dont sit and talk about shit I dont know. HELLO! Those countries you talk about were STATE CAPITALISTS and because of it, the later era bad. But I would expect that from someone who doesnt have a degree in Economics or has ever studied history, including reading Marx, Engles, Trotski, Lenin, or Chomsky. Now GTFO my page and read a fucking book!
@jediknight36 Socialism still sucks, all soft fucks, they are pro islamic. Nationalism and capitalism is the best. Fuck off with your sick cummunism and socialism. Both of those backwarded ideology's stink, just like Islam(and no, Islam is not religion but ideology if you want to ask me why, just ask). Lenin formed cummunism how it should be, he had good plans but Stalin just abused it and changed it and now the socialists are following what Stalin did and Socialists in europe are pussys.
@rossusa Dont eat any FDA inspected food, dont take any FDA approved drugs, dont FLY because the airlines get huge subsidies, are you starting to get the picture, dumb shit? And oh, btw, half of Europe is twice as socialist as the US THINKS it is, and they are having a much easier time than we are. Dumb shit.
@Enleuk That is the eventual goal, but of course not the anarchy they portray on TV. True anarchy where the people govern themselves. We are a LONG way from being able to do that.
@jediknight36 ya, i'm with you, i made a state video myself about the same thing :) we could start a movement :P although... the world is not ready, its kind of a necessity that the old guys die and new generations with not yet closed minds grow up in a different world before the ideas can be realized. even our generation only has like 0.1-10% anarchists/communists, its gonna take a few more generations
@TheUssr5 In socialism? Sure there will be classes. But thats not where it will end. The working class will take over and evenly distribute wealth and assets according to need, not greed.
1st people may not work routnely, consistently nor willingliy to only express their feelings, or for social recognition or to make the earth better place.
2nd If they did, no massive productivity, nor creativity or proffessionality in field may occur, because of the un-materialistic motive communism provide.
@TheUssr5 Then you need to read Marx more. In the intrest of the greater good, people will work. And, if everyone has a chance to work, no one person would have to work more than a few hours each week, especially when you take away jobs that are non-esentual like banker or advertising, or stock market. This will lead to everyone being fulfilled and having more time to enjoy their leisure time.
@TheDevjin Basically, the working class has two choices: We can either take the boot heel to the head as we have been doing for hundreds of years, or we can raise up and take control away from the bourgeois. Its really that simple. People have to decide which side they are on: The rich or the working class. Those are the only two classes in the world. Everyone else is confused.
As attractive as communism sounds, it would be wise to take it in steps.
I myself am an advocating communist, but there are some grey areas which i am still thinking through.

The socialist countries referred to in the video are not "corrupt police states". They are historic advances of the working class. They are limited by the fact that they must exist alongside hostile capitalist and especially, imperialist states. Socialism always improves conditions for the working class.
wisdomist 2 months ago
Not sure if it's correct to say that Socialism is merely a step toward, or 'transition' to Communism. Communism is a further left ideology compared to Socialism. Communism denotes more complex state planning and a central government with fairly large state bureaucracy.
You're correct to say Socialism grows out of Capitalism and can therefore lead on to Communism, however, Communism is more of a political AND economic belief than solely economic like Socialism.

SimonSays288 4 months ago
@SimonSays288 Honestly, that last part is exactly right. They CALL themselves Communist but so did WE in similar propaganda. I dont think the video maker contests that. I think that what the writer is saying is that a better world is not only necessary, but possible once you take care of the masses, making sure their needs are met before the wealthy, and not allowing the rich to BE so manipulative. But as far as "wishful thinking" goes, the same was said about Capitalism.
WearyZebra 4 months ago
@Tyco200 You're under the false assumption people would use currency in a socialist or communist society... Commodities for the welfare of every individual resident of said society is all that is to be weighed, evenly, for all members. People will do what they must in order to reach a point where we won't have to do anything anymore. We've reached that point technologically a long time ago, however socially capitalism is robbing us of our capacity to distribute goods for the people, not profits.

The ideal goal is to produce what society wants and needs, and not to over produce, like what happens today. We go back to making things last, and upgradeable. From each according to their ability, to each according to their needs.
jediknight36 6 months ago 4
@jediknight36 Trade is mutually beneficial otherwise people would not do it. It's not one sided or a zero sum gain.
Value is subjective not objective. You have your own personal preferences as to what should be produced and what should not. So if there is a product or service that is being produced that you personally don't like you'll just say it's over produced, not needed or wanted. Somebody else obviously needs or wants the good or service otherwise they would not buy it.
MrGreeneggsnham 3 weeks ago
While the details of such an economy are something that society as a whole would have to work out, the means of production would be owned by the population. This means that every product that is produced is partially owned by you. You, as a worker, have a vested interest in doing the best you can. Weather that means a government body manages the " company " or that there just is no owner, but instead a collective, would be more like it. Either one, as long as the workers own it, would work.
jediknight36 6 months ago

I think that people today consider the soviet union as a communist nation too much to actually consider that actual communism might actually be a good thing. Like for a while I thought that capitalism was awesome until I figured out what it really was.
Freakinlahanier 6 months ago
@Packerd01 That is more of a dictatorship. In my view, communism is a simple system that simply cannot succeed. In many nations (China, former Soviet Union, Russia of today, Greece and Ireland) we see that these nations are reliant on the rich (capitalism) to give them revenue. If you tax the rich, which destroys private business, you will eventually have no new money. Government then will simply suck off what it has, and, become a bankrupt Greece. It is wrong to say "Communism results in evil!"
Tyco200 6 months ago
There is no hope for the idiots posting below. They have seen the video, and yet they still claim the left to be their boogeyman, the great oppressor of 'freedom', and all that typical bull. I see... so communism relies on an absolute abundance of resources to function? Makes sense...no wonder it doesn't work when the absolute abundance of resources is provided by a working class. It seem communism will only work with slaves or robots.

Legitimate, non- trolling question here--
@3:24 I understand all of the points made regarding reasons people work other than money, but what about when similar companies with the same target market (ex. Coke and Pepsi, or Microsoft and Apple) arise? Wouldn't competition and motivation for bigger profit have to eventually come into play?
theyeti101101 7 months ago
@theyeti101101 first off, you have to remember that acording to Karl Marx, communism does not have a monatary system, and the idea is that the primary goal of commuism acording to Karl Marx is that the improvements of the human race (nation/continent/world itself) driving force behind it all. Communism is not only a political idea, but also an alteration of mentality for it to work. Best exsample I can give you, is, ironically, a huge US franchise: Star Trek.
MikeRomulus 7 months ago
@theyeti101101
I think the point is that in true communism, people wont have to work at all, they can spend all their time doing what they choose to do so competition will arise between corganisations but only for the sake of competing, like sport. The point is that if we embraced that kind of thinking then we could all struggle for a couple hundred years and then our great grand children would never have to work.
kyelj13 6 months ago
@theyeti101101

Polovene 7 months ago
@MARIJUANA41011 (continued) Look at Cuba and Eastern Europe: one has its citizens constantly trying to go over to the U.S., and the other is distinctly poorer than the rest of Europe. In my opinion, Eastern Europe is poorer than the rest of Europe because of how heavily the Soviets taxed and regulated them. If the people aren't allowed to operate and trade freely, how can a society be rich and full of new technologies?
DarthConnis 7 months ago
@MARIJUANA41011 The Nazis stripped the German people of their gun rights as soon as they took power. To quote Hitler, "History shows that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by so doing." Communists believe in the righteousness of big government, and so did the Nazis.
My second point: only in the ideal communist society do people have all that they need. That's never true in practice. Look at Eastern Europe and Cuba: (continued)
DarthConnis 7 months ago
@MARIJUANA41011 People are conditioned to do business with people, and I'll concede that that business isn't always completely honest. However, most people don't do that. Humans aren't perfect, but we're not evil, either. I have absolute faith that the vast majority of people in the capitalist economy will conduct their business honestly and compete with other business owners according to the Ten Commandments.
DarthConnis 7 months ago
@MARIJUANA41011 If you're asking me what I mean by "legalized theft", I'm referring to the taxes that are required to fund a communist regime. That's what taxes are: money exacted from civilians' pockets with or without the civilians' consent. Communism is impossible without legalized theft because when communism is put into practice, people invariably look to expanding the government in order to have their communist utopia.
DarthConnis 7 months ago
@MARIJUANA41011 The theft in capitalism is made possible by the stupidity of the masses (which is their own fault, in my opinion). The theft in communism is made possible by the fact that you're simply unarmed.

I hope that the reason so many people liked this video because of the guy arguing AGAINST communism rather than because of the guy that is ADVOCATING communism. To advocate the viewpoint that equal result through unequal abilities is fair violates every law of nature and runs afoul of the laws of intelligence.
jrzckr 8 months ago
@jrzckr define "laws of nature". It has been working for hundreds if not thousands of years. And, capitalism is dependent on socialism to work. Not the other way around. And who said everyone's abilities were equal? At least in socialism everyone is treated equally and given an equal opportunity in life. No silver spoons, no poverty.
jediknight36 8 months ago 16
@jediknight36 You are treated equally by being given the equal opportunity to get the same results that the rich have obtained in capitalism. There is poverty in socialism. When there is redistribution of wealth because those without means are voting for politicians to make taxes disproportionately higher against those with means, that is theft legalized through representative democracy. You cant create equal results unless you disadvantage those who are more hard working thorough legislation
jrzckr 8 months ago
@jrzckr Exactly! Communism in theory (the 'scientific definition') is something even capitalists (like myself) want. Communism in practice is never without a kind of legalized theft.
DarthConnis 7 months ago
@jrzckr Although, I have to admit that capitalism is also kind of theft-oriented, but it's never done with the might of the police forces. The closest example where capitalism resembles routine intimidation (like legislation) is gang activities, which isn't actually capitalism (aren't those gang members frequently on taxpayer-funded welfare?).
DarthConnis 7 months ago
@jediknight36 Without profit, there cannot be a reason for middle class people to work. Without work, means government will have a harder time taxing the people. With private-jobs and wealth, you can create government revenue/hence raise taxes without worrying too much. But if you tax the rich before until they have nothing at the idea of "wealth distribution", then what is the need for them to work if it doesn't benefit? Eventually, the lemon will run out of juice, and you will have Greece.
Tyco200 6 months ago
@jediknight36 How so? Communism depends on revenue, that comes from taxes. In places like Greece, where they turned to Socialism, they taxed the rich heavily until they had no money. Eventually, they squeezed the lemon until it was out of juice, and, had no money to pay for free social systems. The people, meanwhile, angered to giving their freedoms for nothing and being officially dependant upon Government, cannot settle for cuts. ;) Therefore, Communism is dependant on Capitalism's revenue.
Tyco200 6 months ago
@jediknight36 If you imply heavy taxes upon the rich and middle class people, you will eventually destroy private businesses. It will also make it harder for those who need low taxes to survive (middle class) to actually feed their families/pay taxes from their little jobs. In a communist society, there is no profit. Therefore, people won't work. Also, in socialism, government relies on national wealth to supply free healthcare, welfare, etc. Without the money of capitalism, they can't pay.
Tyco200 6 months ago
@jediknight36 Equal opportunity is impossible because people live different lives.
MrGreeneggsnham 3 weeks ago
Investigation into the roots of these exoteric interpretations reveals centuries of deliberate re-writing, & cutouts around the interests of ruling imperial forces. If these "spiritual" ideas were true, they'd be consistent with truths verifiable on the other levels of our experience -- emotional, mental, biological, social, cultural, historical, etc. They simply aren't, & are socially corrosive, emotionally damaging, & scientifically absurd. Blind faith is antithetical to true Gnosis, or Vidya.
aspaciousmind 8 months ago
But its a necessary piece in the puzzle of building a sustainable, just, happy human world. The notion of human nature being a fixed, unchangingly evil essence is ascientific, false, & has its roots in the exoteric Abrahamic idea of original sin and essential sinful nature of humanity, which has only ever been a weapon of state control via guilt and fear.
aspaciousmind 8 months ago
An important point to add, is that the notion of "human nature" is simply an excuse to delegate our behavior and social problems to a realm outside our control. Marx can be considered the first Western social constructionist, recognizing that human behavior is largely conditioned by its social, cultural, and economic contexts and history.
aspaciousmind 8 months ago

You're defeining it by what it should be and not by what it actually is, which is evil at it's best.
screwdabrewcrew 9 months ago
So here's hoping that you'll answer my question friend. I understand that in an actual communist state, there will be no money, everything is free and all are equal which I agree highly with. I also understand that there will be no ruling class as most people think because of the USSR. But here's my question; in a communist state would be people vote on things or who or what would make decisions? And if government is ran by the people for the people isnt that basically another form of democracy?
cbcrog 9 months ago
@cbcrog Thank you for an intelligent question. Communism is pure democracy. The people have direct access to change how the state is run. We have a representative democracy now and because only the rich have the money to run for office, only the rich are elected. So we have to get them out of the way. The people should have direct access to change how the state runs. But even some communist theories that the state will eventually dissolve and nationality will too. But thats even over my head.
jediknight36 8 months ago
@jediknight36 Ok cool. So basically the USSR, China, North Korea and Cuba have basically done to communism what the United States has done to democracy, which is twisted and made it so that its only a former image of what our founding fathers intended correct? Also, is the communist theories you spoke of basically trying to say that everntually the world will unite as humanity? Because i can really agree with that
cbcrog 8 months ago
@cbcrog Exactly. While these countries have socialistic tendencies, and they work very well, it isnt really communism. Some countries have socialism working in their countries, like German and Sweden, more so than in the US and even the UK. Thanks to Reagan and Thatcher that is. Trying to predict what humanity will do when we get to that point is like the Romans trying to predict the rise of the US. Its so far out there, but we must keep fighting. Eventually, the world will unite as humans.
jediknight36 8 months ago
@jediknight36 Ok just a few more questions and one of them is your personal opinion. First, isnt socialism the bridging from a non communist state into one so its kind of like the transistional period correct? And also, I know that one of the basis of communism is there needs to be no religion, as it is a tool to keep people oppressed. This is the only part I dont like. While I feel people have used religion in various form for manipulation, I feel its like com. and dem. just twisted. You?
cbcrog 8 months ago
@cbcrog Socialism is the term for the transition from worker led economy to workers running the state. As far as religion goes, Marx is always misquoted. He said, " Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people." But it is always misquoted and out of context. The next sentence is, "The abolition of religion as the illusory happiness of the people is the demand for their real happiness. "
jediknight36 8 months ago
@jediknight36 so he supported religion??? Ive read the communist manifesto just had a few grey areas thats why I ask.
cbcrog 8 months ago
@cbcrog He neither supported nor was against it as far as the people were concerned, except as its use as a tool to oppress the working class. Personally, he was Atheist. And Marx was just a human. Even if he was rabidly against religion, that doesn't mean WE have to be. But Marx would be even more outspoken if he saw todays Christian and Catholic church. Oi!
jediknight36 8 months ago
@jediknight36 haha agreed. See my view is that each man should be entitled to his own personal beliefs, and that just because someone or something is different doesnt mean u have to like them, but u damn sure dont get to hate them. So in the end, while I do believe in God, if the next man does not that is not my business. And as long they can let me be, I will return the favor. So good talk and thank you for answering my questions.
cbcrog 8 months ago
@jediknight36 oh also, yes I do believe that the Church is acting just as the government is, getting away from what the core message is and twisting it to their own personal favor. Which is extremely wrong to me.
cbcrog 8 months ago
@cbcrog To call on them to give up their illusions about their condition is to call on them to give up a condition that requires illusions." So he is talking about abolishing religion by taking the conditions away that support it, mainly the peoples suffering at the hands of oppression. And most religions of the world teach the same kinds of ideas that Marx did, but Marx is saying people dont need a God to do that. And I know MANY christian communists.

It's possible that socialism and capitalism can function properly if they are done the way they are supposed to be done. As you can see from past and present examples when they go wrong they really go wrong.
SputnikRX 9 months ago
To all: if you dont think capitalism has a built-in oppression (the fact that some can accumulate power through money and manipulation) than not only did you not pay attention to the video, you dont pay attention to life on this planet, and you dont do any real research on the topic. All socialist countries (Norway is Democratic Socialist, and the people fight every day for what they have) are doing just fine. The USSR, if you read into it, was corrupted from the inside out by capitalism. Duh!
jediknight36 9 months ago
Capitalism is real evil, look at USA is a nation of drug addiction, rapes, violence, and on the economic side its real bad, its almost impossible to get out of poverty in America. In this country only a few enjoy happiness, while the majority is sad. We need a system for happiness, wealth and luxuries for all americans not just a few

MasterDebator809 9 months ago
(first off i'll let you know i'm a libertarian) ok, the problem you overlook is that to get to communism you must have a transition. It must be orchestrated. What is keeping the orchestrators of this system from rigging it? The ones whom would have the power to lead this change would be the ones best positioned to do so.. The ones best positioned would have the backing of corporations (secretly) to fund and propagate the message to the masses.. Are you trusting them to be benevolent?
Thanks
overshotfilms08 9 months ago
@overshotfilms08
The ones who follow them are really the ones who must keep it from being rigged. Either that or a really good leader who is willing to step down from power much like George Washington but communist.
Comanglia 9 months ago
@Comanglia the ones following are duped dude.. cuz they are following basically fluff.. eh.. This philosophy is non obtainable.. and if it was it would fail pretty quickly.
overshotfilms08 9 months ago
@overshotfilms08
Comanglia 9 months ago
@Comanglia pure capitalism(not the corporatism we have today)would work due to the lack of power people could buy. The market would decide, not politicians. Today we have a federal reserve that minipulates markets and bails out it's buddies and prints money out of thin air. When we get a president that believes in freedom, like a Ron Paul, we can get rid of all the powers the presidency has accumulated over the last hundred years or so and repeal the federal reserve act.. then it's all good yo
overshotfilms08 9 months ago
@overshotfilms08

Luketheduke33 9 months ago
I like the idea of communism, but I doubt its overall feasibility. Even if the majority of the people involved in the transition process are honestly devoted to the cause, it doesn't take much for just a few corrupt people to ruin the entire system from within. Then again, the same could be said of any government, so maybe I'm just cynical and sticking to what I know. Still a good vid, though. Will show it to some pundit followers I know.

3. How would banking and the money system work w/o private investment?
jfarwell92 10 months ago
It's great that they used Linux as an example, its an example of why this system doesn't work. There is no scarcity in computers, I write a program in a day and one person to half the world is able to copy that small amount of work with no more work on my part. If I had to make something physical, I would have to make it for each individual person who wanted one. Why would anyone do that for free? Communism works great when it doesn't take scarcity or human nature to account. Thats why it fails.

the reason that those who aren't communists or socialists can't just define what communism and socialism are by themselves is based on history and then, the natural thing of those carrying the label are going to be who thinks about it the most. you can't logically tell people what they really think. so yeah n koreans can call themselves communist if they really want but its the idea of political parties , not everyone has to agree. fuck n koreans and so on and so forth. lol.

I don't get how there can be abundance, if there is more people won't there be less abundance. What happen if their is too much people, won't it cause wars and all that, finally if you give people to choice to work, I know some people will work, but what about those who don't?
leunghanwai 10 months ago
Not only that, if you rely only on the people to govern themselves, won't it get easily corrupted. Since now power is in a community.
leunghanwai 10 months ago
@leunghanwai that's an understandable argument in a capitalist society, but in a socialist society, all people will have been raised as children in the same nature and would all develop a uniform style of morals and standards which would mean, over time, there will be no "bad eggs."

This could be achieved in America (socialism that is) by having every workplace a workers co-op. Following that and ensure that working class people have exclusive say to political power and formulation of a system to ensure mass and free education.
ahhhhjjjj 11 months ago
just a general response to this video. the two largest and most well known of any communist countries are the union of soviet socialist republics and the people's republic of china. the ussr collapsed and china has gotten rid of socialism in favor of capitalism so obviously what should be drawn from that is that socialism is not good and capitalism id better
retartedmorron 11 months ago
if communism and socialism aren't "evil" then why haven't they succeeded in the past? why is it that a republic democracy has stayed mostly intact for so long in contrast to nations like the soviet union, if they weren't a communism, then why are they called communists? so far communism and socialism have been tools of oppression, what makes you think they wont be used the same way in the future
xpoom3 11 months ago
@xpoom3 You obviously didnt watch the video, but I will expound now, and in the next video :D Lenin said that the Soviet Union was in a transitional state, meaning they were not Capitalism per se, but not communist either, though they were the closest thing since Le Commune de Paris (look it up) but when Lenin died, Stalin and the US/UK/Capitalist countries all used "Communism" as a propaganda to either build up or villainize the USSR, depending on who was using it. Capitalism oppresses.

bennyronny 11 months ago
@jediknight36 since when does capitalism oppress? communism is the most oppressive form of modern government along with autocratic dictators and give their people absolutely no freedom to do anything they want. capitalism is used in democratic-republics that are based upon constitutions that give all people certain rights that cannot be taken away from them.

@retartedmorron Your name says it all.... And you havent watched the video, or read a book outside of school. I dont owe you an education, go read a book.
jediknight36 11 months ago 5
@jediknight36 thank you for blowing over my point entirely. here's another point; the overall prosperity level in the United States (one of the most capitalist countries in the world) is better than any socialist economy's is and we in America have never experienced famine which is something that soviets faced at least once every three or four years. Americans have the chance to go from the bottom 2% to the top 2% of the wage spectrum. so what again were the great benefits of socialism?
retartedmorron 11 months ago
@jediknight36 "i dont owe you an education" everyone deserves an education i thought?
maievtank 10 months ago
@jediknight36 capitalism oppresses?
come on, that is as much of a generalization and, if not a misconception, then at the very a hyperbolization, as calling communism evil, oppressive, controlling, etc;
also, you can't just have people work completely what they want; imagine 10% of people wanted to grow 90% wanted to write books; that would a society of starving intellectuals; in capitalism, you have jobs created by circumstances;
bbphnix 9 months ago
@jediknight36 this allows a regulation of the workforce with respect to the needs of the people; you could have machines that allows 1 person to make the food of 10 or ever 100; than yes, you can have 10% farming, 90% doing whatever the hell they want; and this gives a motivation to make those machines; in time, capitalism will lead to advanced technologies and better quality of life;
that;s the theory; can it go wrong? of course (like the tendency of turning into corporatism);
bbphnix 9 months ago
@jediknight36
the same goes for communism; it has a theory; did it go wrong? oh yes...
you see calling capitalism intrinsically oppressive is as narrow minded an argument as is xpoom and retardedmoron's arguments;
I think a balance between socialism and capitalism is the best course of action; and NOT just because of theory; Sweden and Norway have such a system and they are very developed; Norway in fact has the no1 highest HUMAN DEVELOPMENT INDEX OF ALL THE 200 UN member states;

This will lead to everyone being fulfilled and having more time to enjoy their leisure time.
