Lol? Matthews didn't get owned hard. He made a couple of friendly jokes, and showed recent poll numbers. The other guy then tried to slander him by saying the polls were very old (which they weren't) and then he coughed up something out of his ass "Greenland used to be green 1000 years ago", when in fact the ice sheet was still there at that time it was just slightly GREENER than now.

The greenhouse effect is a proven fact, by science. How much human emitted gases affect the climate is debatable, but saying they have no effect is ridiculous. Perhaps it's smaller than what Gore and co. claimed, but we know from lab examples and Venus and other planets affected by greenhouse gases that they do cause warming. Hence the sensible thing to do is keep the emissions in check when we can.

The world is slowly waking up to the fact that the science is a long way from settled and that Climate Science is too immature to make the predictions it tries to make with anything close to certitude. This is far more of a political argument than a scientific one - a power grab of monumental proportions. Taxing air. I hope people wake up as this one may be hard to undo and will have devastating economic impact and little desired impact (CO2 will not decrease as Kyoto has proven).

Not sure, but "ad hominim" is when somebody attacks the character of the other rather than engage the arguments. There was definitely some of that of tha going on there.

"Ad hominim" is not what I have in mind neither. The fallacy goes like "oh you don't believe in global warming? You must also deny evolution right?" I don't know the exact term for this fallacy. Close to "guilt by association" but not quite. Which, I don't want to start another debate, but I am also very skeptical about the theory of evolution.

It is Obvious Chris Matthews believes in global warming. Why in the hell would he have somebody like Jim Moran to come on and defend it. He is never good at debates. The world has cooled by .3C since the release of Gore's movie--it only warmed .67C in 120 years until 1998. This is all a scam to dupe the ignorant into more government control.

When I was a kid, Rohrabacher was running for a city office in my home town. He came over to my house to look for my old man's backing. After he left, pops said to me, "He won't win, but he's a good man." Glad to see he's still fighting the good fights (here, getting double teamed by a couple of idiots). If you examine the satellite data, the signature of CO2 caused global warming is nowhere to be found.
