You know, when copernicus proposed that the earth revolved around the sun, that wasn't a popular opinion then and the scientific consensus was that the sun revolved around the earth. Global Warming is bullshit and just an opportunity for Democrats to control and tax us more.
Matthews got owned, hard, and all he could do was to throw up slanderous irrelevancies. He's the one who came off as the "true believer" rather than the rational skeptic. What an absolute clown.
Lol? Matthews didn't get owned hard. He made a couple of friendly jokes, and showed recent poll numbers. The other guy then tried to slander him by saying the polls were very old (which they weren't) and then he coughed up something out of his ass "Greenland used to be green 1000 years ago", when in fact the ice sheet was still there at that time it was just slightly GREENER than now.
Nobody has been debating natural climate change. The debate has centered around whether we have ... cont
affected the climate change or not. This can be done while natural climate change occurs.
The greenhouse effect is a proven fact, by science. How much human emitted gases affect the climate is debatable, but saying they have no effect is ridiculous. Perhaps it's smaller than what Gore and co. claimed, but we know from lab examples and Venus and other planets affected by greenhouse gases that they do cause warming. Hence the sensible thing to do is keep the emissions in check when we can.
The world is slowly waking up to the fact that the science is a long way from settled and that Climate Science is too immature to make the predictions it tries to make with anything close to certitude. This is far more of a political argument than a scientific one - a power grab of monumental proportions. Taxing air. I hope people wake up as this one may be hard to undo and will have devastating economic impact and little desired impact (CO2 will not decrease as Kyoto has proven).
Not sure, but "ad hominim" is when somebody attacks the character of the other rather than engage the arguments. There was definitely some of that of tha going on there.
"Ad hominim" is not what I have in mind neither. The fallacy goes like "oh you don't believe in global warming? You must also deny evolution right?" I don't know the exact term for this fallacy. Close to "guilt by association" but not quite. Which, I don't want to start another debate, but I am also very skeptical about the theory of evolution.
Sorry, not sure if there's a name for that besides just changing the subject. There is definitely ad hominem implied though. "What, you don't believe in man-made global warming? You must also be a creationist. Therefore you are not credible for talking about science."
If you want to know the science behind gobal warming go to Potholer54s channel. His second video on climate change dubunks the increaased solar activity argument.
It is Obvious Chris Matthews believes in global warming. Why in the hell would he have somebody like Jim Moran to come on and defend it. He is never good at debates. He always looks neverous and constipated. Furthmore, why does he even have polititians debating this? They dont know the science behind global warming(especially Rohrabarcher). He should have at least one scientist on the panel.
Sadly, the democrats are in charge. If this is what they think 'science' is, we are all in trouble. Obama promised no new taxes, put he's been rolling them out under the guise of so-called climate change. Mathews looked perplexed when presented with science, while the democrat looked like he lost the debate. Did you hear him say, "Even if that's true..." He believes in what's known as the precautionary principle. Even if it's not true, there's no harm in destroying the economy.
This is funny!! How can anyone have faith in the religion of global warming when the models have been incorrect 78% of the time? I guess it is akin to the Taliban talking people into blowing themselves up in a crowded market place because they are going to get 72 virgins? When the poor 12 year old boy does it, he does it on faith and theory I bet the Taliban might even have a paper diagram model that shows the hot 72 virgins. Wow global warming believers are naive!!!!
I agree we need to innovate and develop new energy technologies, but scaring people into change, raising their taxes to fund programs like health care and transfer payments is a far cry fro addressing any problem caused by climate change.
Matthews is a rube and Moran is a moron. Alaskan glaciers are growing for the first time in 250 years. The Hubbard glacier is growing by 7 feet a day! Gallup polls reveal the same thing as Rasmussen polls. Of 2250 IPCC lackeys only about 250 of them climate scientists the rest are bureaucrats. The world has cooled by .3C since the release of Gore's movie--it only warmed .67C in 120 years until 1998. This is all a scam to dupe the ignorant into more government control.
Chris Matthews is a tool. 52 scientists in the IPCC approved the report of GW. Many are skeptical. That is the scientific method. For Chris Matthews to make that statement about Creationism is ridiculous. On this point, he is the Creationist because there is not proof about the warming, it is faith alone.
Chris Mathews is a fool!! Did he feel a shiver up his leg when he said everyone but him is a fool.
The left is trying to wrap themselves in Science on Global Warming is a JOKE. Science is on the side of the sceptic on this one. I hope they keep pushing it. This is going to be a huge loss for the fools. This is the Lefts religion.
When I was a kid, Rohrabacher was running for a city office in my home town. He came over to my house to look for my old man's backing. After he left, pops said to me, "He won't win, but he's a good man." Glad to see he's still fighting the good fights (here, getting double teamed by a couple of idiots). Chris Mathews thinks that "three quarters" of Americans want something done about co2 emissions. These guys seem to go by what they heard from somebody, citing absurd "facts." True believers.

2250 IPCC contributors, are less than 500 scientists, more than 800 people on the IPCC list have no advanced degree. Many are not scientists at all.

Prove it. Lies are easy to spout, especially if the facts are in Alaska ...
Pay more in taxes to the government so government scientists can pretend to control the weather.
If you examine the satellite data, the signature of CO2 caused global warming is nowhere to be found.
