Terraria Home Update #1 [First Impressions]

I LOVE Minecraft, and I've been trying to get into Terraria, but there is something about it that just makes me turn it off after a few minutes.

I like terraria and mc, but i think mc is tops. I have the best equitment on terraria. I have ALL items, and beat all the bosses. Not much to do, seeing as building isnt as fun in terraria. In mc i have everything too, but atleast i can build and express myself in my building afterwards. If notch added certain things from terraria, mc would be the greatest thing. IF terraria added more detailed buildin, it could be the greatest thing. I think both should join forces.

personally i think terraria is boring you can only do things once but do whatever you like and i cant wait for the next Minecraft home update

i dont understand when u say terraria can be "beat" and then it gets boring, and minecraft cant. if anything minecraft can be "beat" much easer cuz after u get diamond and squirt some building ideas on the field. its "beat". minecraft is preaty much construction and a little bit of exploration. terraria is lots of exploration with a good amount of construction. im not being buis i absolutely love minecraft and terraria.

@CubeOfApocalypse MineCraft is not about diamonds, you can build tons and tons of creations in MC, which is why I don't think it can be beat. Terraria is easy mode once you get top gear and boss' are only fun so many times.

@HoboInArmy But minecraft isnt about exploration like Terraria is. So if you are looking for exploring and such then minecraft gets boring much faster then Terraria in my opinion.

@shmigglemichiggins The thing about terraria is that even on the largest map setting it only takes a minute or two to reach the end, and going down is the same stuff, the "layers" the underground has yield very similar environments.

The top tier gear according to terraria wiki is moltent.

The real top tier gear is cobalt, man gear with better defence then meteor.

You also wana get rocket boots a red balloon and cloud in a bottle, that way you have very good mobility. Hermes boots and a cobalt shield are also very useful.

It's funny. On other video's people say FortressCraft or Terraria is a 'copy' of minecraft. While MineCraft is a 'copy' of InfiniMiner lol. Anyway, nice house dude, Terraria looks fun, but I don't wanna play it.

@Nokitfer Well, theres nothing wrong with taking an idea and making it your own (Terraria), but I do hate people who take something and rip it off completely but it has less features (FortressCraft). FC can take a hike.

Terraria has alot of adventure included also... One more thing it that I would suggest opening another worl(small) and travel to the dungeon, beat skeletor, and raid it for some more things and accessories such as a lucky horse shoe that prevents fall dmg. Or some other item(honestly, any accessory is better than a shackle).... That might keep you a little busy... Also check out the floating islands. :)

@comet12321 Large worlds really aren't that large, I ran to Skeletrons lair in my world, but I wasn't really prepared for the fight, didn't have a ranged weapon or any healing potions.

How does the multiplayer system work? Are there servers and IPs like Minecraft?

When you fill in the background with wood or another material, what does it prevent?

Is its exploration as vast and enriched as minecraft's?

@MrPuddingShins Server are easily hosted in game, but you have to have the correct ports forwarded and stuff.

Filling in the background stops monsters from spawning, its not based off of light like minecraft.

Exploration is pretty bland in my opinion, MC has the massive natural structures that make you feel like the double rainbow guy, the environment is the same pretty much for terraria, all you get is corruption and different elevation, the caves aren't that bad though.
