@paolofior I have notified our director of international sales of this issue, and we are working on it. I am sorry you have had a bad experience with our product. We are looking into your case to help make it right again.
Great help for me!! I just purchased the 16-4-2 and waiting for my studio building to be completed. These videos are really giving me a better understanding of the Presonus line.
Thank you very much for this video series! THis was very helpfull for me to understand some of the basic concepts using the mixer in a studio environment.
How do you record the final mix with Fx and EQ into the DAW? I can only record post EQ settings, the FX that I set on the mixer are not recorded. Are you able to record post FX?
@JoseVillaDrums The final mix can be recorded into your daw, it shows up as inputs 17-18 for the main bus. You should have your fx busses assigned to the main output OR if you want you can assign the output of the fx busses to the subgroups and not the mains so you have better control and if you want you can record the fx subgroups as seperate channels in your daw.
The Studiolive is fantastic and worth every penny. Great support and great value. All of the add on stuff works amazingly as well - ipad remote app - SL Remote and Capture are fantastic and easy to use. And they are included in the purchase of the board.
hello Am so much interested in having my own studio and working as a professional producer. so I want to know how must will it cos me to own everything in this studio. this is my email: ubedet@hotmail.com. I hope that you can help me with the info. I want all th equipment by presonusaudio.
i have a question, i own a studiolive and im using it with cakewalk sonar 8 producer edition and when i send the audio file to make a cd should i leave the firewire inputs on? because whenever i burn something to disc, the mix comes out totally different then the way it was coming out of the moniters while i was mixing
@dbros1993 It's actually about $1,000 more. I agree with you that the Yamaha is a little better, but for someone looking to get into recording, there is no better entry-level interface than the Presonus.
you can actually use 40 channels, including digitals and analogs, has built in 4 effect units, has very easy grouping. you can use upto 4 aux or in this mixer omni outs. physical outputs being 4.
also, the mixer has a way better studio functioning, does way more than the presonus. also, the mixer is programable. so you just reherse a show, program it as you are doing it, and just sip coffee during the real concert, when the mixer is doing everything for you. (don't sip coffee literaly, you should always be lookin at whats goin on). so in studio, for mixing, in live, everything, the motorized faders really are a big big help. the routing is also very convenient in the mixer.
hey ppl....i've actuallly seen this mixing board in person, and to tell you the truth, you can do all this stuff in the yamaha 01V96 VCM with one click of a button, plu it gives more inputs to work with, and also gives a large screen which shows you practically everything going on in the mixer. it costs maybe around 50 to 100 bucks more, but then you can store all your settings for a venue so the next time you go there, just recall the scene, all the faders are motorized, meaning move themselves.
im really considering buying this mixer. i just need to know one thing before i make the final step, can it mult track in logic? if so, how do i assign each channel strip on the mixer to a single channel in logic.
Had my studiolive for 3 months, played with it for about 1/2 an hour then took it and used it live with my band. Easy to use and sounds great. We gig 1 - 2 times a week and everything sounds great, the presets are really useful too. We have recorded several gigs and are constantly amazed with the clarity and quality straight of the desk, so after mixing it's even better. We plan to use it to record our next release. will keep you updated.
Question: Is the sound straight through the Presonus or are you also running the audio through the rack gear to the left of the studiolive (I can see the lights flashing when you're recording / playing back)?
Nothing is going through the other gear except for the Central Station which is feeding my studio monitors. The only mic preamps, compressors and eq's that were used were from the StudioLIve.
Ok i have a problem. whenever i finish recording a track i arm all the firewire inputs but it always comes out of channels 1 & 2 and i dont know why. can someone tell me how to fix this problem?
You can assign the main outputs of your DAW to any of the 18 firewire inputs going to the board. Right now, your main outputs are going to DAW outputs 1/2 which show up on channels 1 and 2 of the board. I personally run my returns through DAW outputs 17/18 which are the 'Tape IN' digital returns.
I've been eating up the StudioLive videos. That's how you demo a product!
I'm wondering how you would mix a mid/side recorded signal. On an analogue desk, you would AUX send the side channel into a line in, phase reverse, pan, etc. D/A and A/D latency ruins stereo imaging on digital desks; so can I just assign the side channel to SUB 1 & 2, invert phase on SUB 2 and stereo link SUB 1 & 2? I like mid side a lot for acoustic guitar and drum OH in the studio.
I like this mixer, my question is, is this mixer better for live gigs then the studio recording? Can I control other DAW with it? I know I can't control Pro Tools, but what about Abelton, Cubase, Sonar etc
This mixer does not control anything. It does turn up as an asio or core audio device, emaning it acts as an audio interface. Pro Tools only recognizs Digidesign and M-audio interfaces (m-powered)
is that the the whole tech support rocking it out? sounds good too me, reminded me of beastie boys "sabotage". You guys are doing a terrific job in marketing this product by actually giving us all of this personal approach and usefull info. I'm sold, now if i could only sell all of my useless gear and actually buy this thing...
That's basically several of our techsupport, inside sales and product management people. Actually they were glad to skip out to go rock out for a few hours. Good times!
OMG ! so perfect ! thanks for such a great walk through guys... that was so helpful, and gave something more to believe in instead of just a text document telling what it can do... video rocks !
I've had my 16.4.2 two weeks now. It's all coming together. I use mine in the studio rather than giging for now. It's incredibly user friendly and your tech team was very helpful...Thanks P team..
Is a scandal ......after six months of life and the mixer is stopped, I discovered that Brazil has no warranty and I have to pay 700 reais to fix it.
