see as a Georgian it sound doubtful for me why would Georgia sell it by the way this is first case when i hare about buying a church. about the icons it is not the same all over the world,ya maybe majority of them but for example Georgian orthodox has pictures of Georgian kings and some writers that others do not, they tried to destroy the pic of Georgian writer Shota Rustaveli in this church

The Greek Orthodox (Ρωμιοι Rhomaioi - RUM ) church has bought the monastery from the Georgian Orthodox church. The iconography remains the same, not only at Jerusalem but all around the Orthodox world.
