  • hi just got a cheetah, is there a site that talks about these old girls ? its got a airhearst caliper and thats alll, lots of work ahead of me thanks george

  • @waston - you can find a lot of info and forum help at these dot com websites: vkakarting and rearenginekarts

  • sweet man i race a isma supermodified be side a go kart look it up !! fastist short trak car ever made !!

  • do you rac or just is it just a toy ?

  • @buddy9352 ... it's a nicely restored vintage racing kart, that I have raced at VKA events in Ohio, Michigan and Missouri.

.... but I usually race this Margay ProX with two engines, 270cc... see my latest posted helmet cam video driving that kart ... incredible power, the fastest type of Sprint kart ever raced....

  • I also had one back in the mid 70s and have one yet it's for sale 500.00 complete but no restored .

  • Note that the Cheetah in the video has the front brake option ... the front brake components are now highly sought after (valuable) since they can be used on many of the vintage period Margay karts being raced at VKA Vintage Karting Events today.

  • That is a Margay Cheetah I raced one just like it in the 70's .....I was like 12 yrs old...

  • Yup, it's the real thing, completely restored. It was a rusty welded up piece of junk when I picked it up. All the chrome frame parts were cut off, rechromed, welded back on, and the frame was power coated matched in color to original Margay Orange. New seat upholstery was made of similar materials. It was fitted with a McCulloch MC91 with alky double pumper carb, a Hartman oil clutch, and a Kendick expansion chamber, the same setup I raced in 1976 in Cortland NY.

  • saw your video - your kart doesn't look like a Margay. There doesn't seem to even be a place for a rear bumper to mount. The pedal mounting arrangement looks very European. It might be something from across the ocean.

  • thanks
