  • yeah i was born in 1967 so yes i was 16 then ...and the thompson twins song this always reminds me of is we are detective (the tune thats starts at 4.40) it must be a bit of the melody and the xylophone what alanah currie played

  • Back in 1984 BBC2 didn't show anything other than the test card and Ceefax until 17:20 in the absence of OU and School programmes unless there was horse racing or snooker etc being shown.

  • @GiggityGiggityGoo22 Yes, you are right in that, of course.

The music here reminds me of yes, Depeche Mode, but also Kraftwerk in its synth-pop basis.

Thank you for the posting though!

  • Many thanks for the posting cwilliams1976-this certainly brings back some very good memories indeed! Well done!

  • 4:40 sounds like a poor-mans Depeche Mode "See You".

  • way back in 1984 there was only 4 tv stations and quite regular these were on testcard, ceefax, etc from 4.40 onwards i used to love this piece of synth music i remembered it straight away .sounds strange but it always reminded me of the thompson twins instumental break mind you i was only 16 then

  • @garymixer You are right here, of course garymixer-and you must be the same age as I am, as I was 16 in 1984 too!

    Thank you for the posting!
