The reason it's underrated is it was considered a box office flop. The fans at the time did not want to see anyone as Bond but Sean Connery, and the tabloids kept reporting that Dian Riggs did not like George Lazenby. Also it is the only movie that is almost exactly like the book and people wanted Bond's gadgets and a happy ending. The original plan was for OHMSS to have ended with the wedding, and Diamonds are Forever would have started with the death of his wife. But Lazenby quit on them.

I've always enjoyed On Her Majesty's Secret Service, I go as far as saying it is one of the best James Bond movies.

I totally agree with you on it being underrated. George Lazenby regrets not making more James Bond movies. He was offered a Seven Film Contract but his agent convinced him not to sign it.

I also heard that tabloids said that Diana Rigg did not like him.

@Riddler95 All true. The thing that the tabloids ignored is the fact that people like to joke with each other. Just before the barn scene was rehearsed Diana Rigg jokingly warned Lazenby that she was eating onions.

I would of cut out the beach fight at the start and the whole dubbed bit. The movie would make less sense but at least the embarrassment would be gone.

The music, Lazenby and the action scenes were all good IMO.
