Before the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, God spared a few people, so why is it not God's intention to spare or rapture his people before the great tribulation; the times of which the bible states will be the worst since the beginning of time? Christians will be raptured before the great tribulation. God keeps this pattern.

I do believe and the bible does plainly state that the remnant will be taken out before the wrath of God is truly poured out on the world. However, the words tribulation and wrath are not interchangeable and exclusive. The "great tribulation" is a distinct time and season. But many tribulations occur.
