  • I wanna go to the uk so bad!!! Lol

  • Petrol is a demerit good :) well it can be argued it is a merit good in a way but waste of natural resrources

  • Hi bRightooonnn :D

  • Pros in the UK? well,,,, we got nectar points....

  • thank god you not my accountant

  • For any Anti-Monarchists out there, /watch?v=bhyYgnhhKFw&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL, enjoy being wrong.

And although i do not agree with the majority of Svens Opinions, he is British and he loves to complain, that's just what we do. I don't hold it against him. Oh and that's coming from a 19year old Soldier.

  • @PSSiddles I did learn something from this, but it doesn't make me wrong :P I'm never wrong :)

Be safe, I have a lot of respect for you soldier peoples.

  • but look at how nice your country is, and that just says that your country is not ranned by lobbyists like usa, i wish the rich got taxed like that here in mexico. they say that the corporations here have not payed tax for 40 years just amagine how nice our roads and buildings would be if we could get our hands on that tax money here.

  • and charles is passing the thrown to william ***

  • dont talk monarchy crap please, culture in the uk (coming from the younger generaton) is dance music, fasion, binge drinking/clubbing , local pride , sport , and over all multiculturism ,

  • all the con's you summed up are pretty much the same or worse in the netherlands, so that would change much,

more cons from the netherlands to the uk --> more insurance on vehicle ( lot more )

pro's -- > 'good' cops mostly doing what they can with out violence, and not scared much to act,

another what i would call a pro --> real queen with power to say yes or no to war ( we got a queen but she is more like a.. nothing )

    pro --> a beautyfull country :) con--> big city = bad air. =)

  • Free healthcare is about 50p per week. Compare that to private; plus EVERY person is taken care of.

  • If you want pros about Britain, it is the rain, the mountains, the English countryside, the tea, the monarchy, and the culture. If you want to go to America, who have no culture, feel free.

  • @TheLiberalKnight the monarchy? Sure, drain some of my money with their silly flamboyance.

  • @svengalie You just don't get it. The Monarchy costs an average adult 50p every year. I can't believe how little interest people have in British history. We should be proud of our culture. The Americans are more patriotic than we are, but they have a shittier history and even shittier non existant culture.

  • @TheLiberalKnight you can carry on not getting it then. That money could be spent on much better things.

  • @svengalie What could possibly be better than the essence of a thousand years of tradition & culture? It is true that the royals are financial parasites. But what is the alternative? America? Their republican system is just awful, and they have no culture, and no history.

  • @TheLiberalKnight getting rid of the monarchy wouldn't change history :) Do you wanna see Charles on the throne?

  • @svengalie It would change history forever. It would breaking a tradition that has been going for over a thousand years. Few countries in the world can rival that length of tradition.

Charles is a decent chap, but even if you hate him, he will only be alive for so long once he becomes King. 10 years, perhaps. Maybe less.

  • @svengalie You talk about saving money. How about cutting the 1.4Billion in aid we give to India, who has their own space program. How about cutting the £50M a day we give to the EU. People are entitled to an opinion on the Monarchy but like it or not, the Monarchy is a symbol of our history and culture. It is also the heart of the British Commonwealth. For 50p a year or day, its a bargain. I think Ignorance is the reason people dislike the Monarchy, its a shame.

  • Comment removed

  • @svengalie It cost us 65p each and gains us £2.65 each so it is worth it. And that £2.65 is only the money gained from the Monarchy's land which brings in about £40million a year. but money from tourists who pay to see telephone boxes and letter boxes with magical monarchy dust bring in about £2000million pounds a year so they are more than worth that 65p

  • I know the exact roads where you are driving through.

Blame the tax problems on the Labour party, not the UK itself, damn it!

  • I love UK

  • i am a student in UK just to 3 years than i will back to my country

without taxes but Of course with hot haha UAE

  • I love UK

  • THEYRE DRIVING ON THE LEFT SIDE O DA ROAD

  • get the fuck out of my country

  • "Once the government's bent you over and rodgered you, they... bend you over again..."

    *deepsigh*

    XD

  • Where are you from originally, Sven?

  • We have the same in Sweden. First the company you work for pay taxes and fees for having you, then you pay income tax, then you pay a variety of taxes and fees on everything you buy and own, and after that you pay 25% VAT on everything. The government more than half of the money you make. Still you have to wait for 3 months in a healthcare queue. A pro with UK though: most byways in Sweden got a sign forbidding any motor vehicles to go on them. So doing what you're doing would be impossible here

  • I like your video, but you a a CRAZY driver, lol!

  • I think much differently about United Kingdom. I care about my town, but the income taxation is extremely true. Although we have much better health-care than some other countries out there.

  • what town r u in?

  • They make money because if u own a business u basically can right off everything your fuel(petrol) a new vehicle some of yor groceries and so and so

  • America is great, until you get sick

  • Pro's i could write in this little box, Con's- ask me for an email of it however may take a few weeks - months to upload the huge files

  • "The grass is always greener on the other side"

This statement is so true - people in all countries become dispossessed with where they live and see the negatives and not the positives.

  • Why do people come here scrounge as much money as they can and then slag it off? slit there balls in half if they come near me...anyway on a lighter note Anyone tried "secretshag.co uk" I can`t believe how many people are here in UK wanting a secret ride.

  • can u ask me y u decided to make a vid about immigration whilst driving a motor bike??

  • @ChewyChubbs97 why not? Most people sit in front of the camera and talk, who wants to see someones boring/ugly face. Much more interesting to walk around and do it?

  • @svengalie hmmm fair enough but now i have watched your other vids i realised its not on this particular 1 i was just confused thats all as it was the first vid i watched of yours

  • @svengalie And moving helps you get more ideas.

  • @ChewyChubbs97 why would he ask you?

  • Well the taxes are prolly high to pay the Doctors and Nurses over there...

  • @djkissbird you think all those taxes are to pay for doctors and nurses...? they get a fairly decent salary, actually.

  • £1.10p those were the days. lol

  • Pros: errrm, we have a nice flag. It's social acceptable to get so pissed you can't find your way home. We drive on the right side of the road. We don't need to learn foreign languages, we can just speak loud and point.

  • país de merda

  • I don't know, first of all he's driving on the wrong side of the road (hahaha) and does it always look so 'gloomy' there?

  • @kmalenka1 well if you live in new england the weather sucks here too and even still have shitty Roundabouts

  • ive spent the last few years in the philippines... beauty country (physically), beaches, weather, to die for... but the countrys economy and governement here make me sick, i used to hate paying taxes in the uk, now i dont care anymore because i now know how amazing the uk system is. Here in the Philippines ppl pay taxes and get NOTHING in return!! i had a baby here recently and hospital bill was 2k! will have to pay for skool, everything if i stay.

  • im british livin overseas, 100,000 profit is great for any small business. Your tax figures are incorrect, my stepfather is a tax man, he advices me on my taxes. The % would not add up like that. Vat is not 17% of profits, and you claim back VAT. From 100,000, u wud say bye to about 30,000 if u av a bad acntant, about 15,000 if u av a gud 1. In the uk, u can see ur taxes bein used, in hospitals, in primary skool, college, roads, etc. Great country, but boring. pay ur taxes wit pride.

  • the people in the united kingdom have cool accents and drive completely opposite from america and seems very interesting to live there :)

  • Is The Area and Region In This Video The United Kingdom Please Reply To This Comment Quickly To Tell Me But Someone Who Knows

  • @isabarriga Brighton.

  • @isabarriga Its Brighton

  • "Emigrating to the United Kingdom."

    Frankly, why ?

  • uk is ugly

  • .....cat aids.....lol

  • Well if it sucks so much, why don't you leave, nothings keeping you here, I'm sure other countries don't have tax, and £100,000 is a pitiful profit for a business to have, no matter how small, and your figures are totally wrong.

Pros: Freedom (something a lot of countries severely lack), strong economy, good road system, economic heart of the world (London), culture, food, the list is endless, free health care (even if you're not paying tax, unemployed etc) Face it, you're a complete cynic.

  • @JohnMD2K I did leave. I'm living in Florida.

  • @svengalie Oh dear.

  • @svengalie Well stay out, who wants a wanker who runs his own nation down and sounds proud of it

  • @svengalie hells yeah!!! I've spent some of the worst years of my life in the UK - in Scotland mostly -. It had nothing to do with the people or other societal/political/economical/etc factors in particular, it's when they all came together in a clear holistic piece called the UK that I decided it's not working for me. How's Florida treating you so far?(disregard the username)

  • @JohnMD2K he said the first year most companies loose money in there first year so turning a profit isn't bad at all. where he is misleading is you won't be taxed on the full 100K for personal tax. they will tax you on the remainder after the corporate tax. I know in canada it works out with all the taxes we give up abouthalf our income to taxes.

  • That comment posted by WebCamFiles was actually me, I was on the wrong profile, if you reply, reply to this account please. Thanks.

  • @WebcamFiles YEP! BIG one, I just emigrated from UK to Ireland-and guess what??? Even tho the Govt here is fucked, crooked etc. and economy totally wiped out!? I love Ireland to death....The people make it so. People in the Uk, head in the sand,no-one talks, no-one knows who ya neighbour is etc. Good luck

  • all your facts are wrong, its on the last 5 thousand and the 100,000

  • I would never want to live in a country that I would not be free. Sorry you live in a Country where the government doesn't trust the people it governs. The US is not perfect. The government here still fear the people as it should be. The Democratic Liberals do there damn best to try to take away every freedom they can, Thank God we have a strong Republic GOP that are looking out for us. Having a strong NRA doesn't hurt anything either.

  • Fish and chips. Found a good thing :D

  • i want to live theeeee ;O

  • nice countryside! We had to leave just cuz of what you have spoken of in your really great video............We now can keep more of our money in another country........but the whole world seems to be going crazy....keep up the good work!

  • I'm thinking about emigrating from the U.S. to the U.K. I'll pay more in taxes if it means getting away from all the fucking rednecks.

  • @BayesianMan

You must be out of your mind man. I'd give my soul to get out of the U.K.

  • lol 0 pro's billions of cons hence why im off out of here hopefully next yr off to america lol so uk = S H I T dont bother even thinking of moving here its not worth the living hell

  • Our History and Culture

  • There are Englishmen which come in Russia and live in it(her) in a separation from a civilization, I saw a plot as the rich Englishman has thrown all riches and has gone to live in глуху Russian village, and in England it(him) if I am not mistaken have counted for the odd fellow. Mysterious English soul...

  • This video sounds like more of a complaint about taxes than the UK. This fellow would complain about taxes anywhere.

  • @InfidelAvenger No because the taxes elsewhere don't compare to the uk.

  • @svengalie they do in Canada

  • @InfidelAvenger And what is so absurd about complaining about high taxes? Do YOU pay taxes, if so, in what tax bracket are you in?

  • I think there are SOME good things about the UK, but I've wanted to emigrate for a long, long time. As you said, too much tax, over-priced goods/property, shit weather, overcrowded, and a general environment that I don't find conducive to a healthy lifestyle. Much prefer a Mediterranean lifestyle, or Australasia perhaps.

The English in particular seem to assume that everyone lives like us. In tiny box houses, overpaying for everything and no stable weather to enjoy the outdoors.

  • @svengalie I meant 25p per day, not week but I do not agree with your figures but nice video

  • @tonightwefly Can you cite a source for 25p per day? I can find plenty of places where it states the cost of the NHS is over 100 billion. There are 61,414,062 people in the UK (source:World Bank, WDI) So 110,000,000,000/61,414,062=£17 91 divide this between 365 days = £4.90 a day. BUT not all those people work. Why do you think my figures are incorrect? Do the math yourself.

Not one to argue, it was interesting to investigate and work out.

  • @svengalie yea i do see it now, it must be a hell of alot more than that 4.90 per day per person, only 37 million people work in the UK so the figure must be more

  • NHS cost's 25p per person per week in the UK, pretty good deal to me

  • I speak American.

  • why does everybody wanna come to immigrate to the u.k for ??

  • @jhvidss benefits duh

  • Pros:

    The BBC (excluding BBC3)

    Cons:

    Everything else

  • I dont live in the UK but I can add a twist to this. I live in Ireland which of course is right beside the UK. The Pros of the UK over Ireland is you dont have VRT tax and your VAT tax is cheaper than ours so hence your cars, bikes etc are cheaper to buy than ours. You have alot more variety and a much better dealer network. Pros of Ireland over the UK are less traffic, not a police state like the UK and in respect of businesses our corporation tax is only 12.5% and no 'double taxing'

  • Speaking of Holland, check out our 52% (thats right 52!) tax rate on income over 54K Eur (which I don't make by far though).

Have to agree with powerplant by the way. Love riding in the UK, defnite pro.

  • i hate pakis , get out!

  • Living in the UK pros (bearing in mind tax)

Free health care and other public services

many oppurtunities to find a career you want if you pursue it

as everyone else learns english, we dont have to learn another language

Part of the EU and have internatnial relations with places like america, canada, australia, new zealend, south africe, india, etc

i cba to wright anymore but im english and love the weather and would never want to live in another country

  • What bike you got??

  • You can take stupid jabs at Americans? pro?

  • w wwDOTerepublikDOTcom/en/referrer/FaintyDave

Help your country become the greatest in this massive online social strategy game!

Work, train, fight, run your own company and become rich or get yourself elected as party/country president, do it all at the same time if you like!

  • Emigration......well with the state of this nation, well worth considering, the uk lost it, gave it away and sold it,s birthrights since 1993, the immigration scene is beyond belief, and indiginous english people wishing 2 work, live and prosper face unprecidented internal barriers, 4 those who care it,s sad.

  • in the uk people drive on the wrong side of the road

  • I think you migrate out of your country, and immigrate into another.

Pros of living in the UK are:

    1) You get to call people mate, and take the EuroTunnel

    2) You get to call your money 'Pounds'. (this is good for rappers. They can say something like: "I look fat 'cause I gained pounds, etc....")

  • Emmigrating???? we brits like to call it devastating!

didnt notice the borders till you mentioned it!

beware of recording dodghy shit in the uk

  • Emmigrating???? we brits like to call it devastating!

  • mate, seriously you pay tax everywhere, so shut up

  • I hate the U.K. with a passion. I can't see what the other 10% of the populous (immigrants) see in this grey, rainy, taxed to the hilt nightmare of a country!! I think im going to Australia...

  • @hargreavest same,id love to leave britian

  • @hargreavest yes, go to the other part of the british empire which is full of holes because of mass mining and huge government censorship (the internet firewall and games)

  • i've got a pro - if you get bored of nice weather and sunshine quickly come to the U.K!! we have cloudy weather 11 months of the year and plenty or raining cold days all year round!!

  • pros of britain.

whe nyou get shot. there is a free medlink bus to the hospital.

con of that. you get to the hospital and catch MRSA.

  • Why do you think we (Americans) separated? Too many taxes. Mind you, there are still plenty of taxes in the US but it's not nearly as bad.

  • Pros:

If you are Polish it's easy to find a job and it's higher paid than in Poland.

If you move to Scotland we have great views.

Muggers will likey only ask for £1 to stop them stabbing you rather than your entire life savings.

    Think that's about it.

  • And that's why I'm emigrating.

  • Don't forget council tax.

  • There is no place like your place of birth.

  • So I looked at the next options i'd like Germany: Cons: - Dont know the languege - Need some money upfront till things settle down - german authority strictness Pros: - Taxing ok(depending on Land) - Goodish pay - Easy to find job - Rent ok. - Ok weather - Driving on the RIGHT side of the road :D
  • Comment removed

  • I have E.U. citizenshi too, perhaps the only good thing that came out ok for us after joining the E.U.

As for the people... they're bad people and good people in every country, and the national character is not as predominantr nowadays.

Speaking of E.U. Since we joined the E.U. prices have tripled, while salary's didnt grow that much.

  • yeah, I guess I shouldn't generalize people ... but I would assume that the UK would be much more expensive than anywhere else. I meet lots of British people here in Canada because they find the UK too expensive to live in.

Im not sure about Germany, it's a bigger country and like the 3rd or 4th largest economy in the world...

  • @3x0rcyst3m UK also full of Chavs-Unintelligent Noisy Teen-agerS-CUNTS for short!

  • @LabiaLicker1 Meh, every country has its idiots.

In North America they're called rednecks.

  • @3x0rcyst3m EU citezenship? never heard of that. lots I havn't heard about though.

  • I get shit pay over here for what i'm doing (2d graphic design and DTP), and the salary is taxed 60%... so i wanna emigrate somewhere in the western part of Europe. Now from an emigrant's point of view. UK Cons: - WEATHER - Taxing and insurance - Too much paperwork to change(DVLA fo example) - Rent - Shit pay compared to british citizens Pros: - Know the languege - Like the culture and the poeple - Easy to fit in
  • I would shit my pants if i got to live in Liverpool!

  • Uncle Sam takes his pretty penny as well....other than that i would give about anything to even go back to England let alone live there.

  • yeah you guys are getting F@%$ed but so are we and the sad part about it is none of us are doing a god damn thing about it.

  • @NathanSmash we must fully see the danger and then unite again as a people before we can have the will to act, sadly our people have succumbed to the propaganda of the enemy and are slaves. They fight under the banner of PC and anti-racism for their enemies cause.

  • You can move here to southern Georgia (US). Temps close to 100F in summer, so many gnats you need to carry something to slap them off if you are outside. Long riding season though and lots of good roads. Not many people and jobs are few. However, you can ride for miles and see nothing but country. The county I am in has a pop. of 8,000. No large towns, fairly low crime.

  • i was thinking of workin in the uk for a year and i thought i want to live near the yorkshire dales.

Am i right to think that that area is heaven for offroaders?

Or just for riding on hilly roads?

I live in Holland now which is essentially flatland with only farms.

    iam sick of it.

  • Absolutely heaven for offroading.

Problem is the powers that be restrict where you can ride.

Can't say I've ever been up that part of the world.

I could find out for you if you were serious.

  • Well if its easy for you to find out you would be helping me allot, i don't want to burden you with anything do.

i am quite serious about it, at first i thought London was a good idea but i quickly turned on that idea when i saw how nice northern England looked.

    Nice video's btw :)

  • @powerplantnl Just visit for a holiday I`d say? DONT go to inner-cities(obvious),most small towns are shite, people in the towns, good or bad???? Unfortunately you`ll meet more bad. The good people hide away??? Come for a holiday, enjoy the hills-Then go back to Holland and enjoy the people!

  • -pros- food jobs if you have the skills no dangerous animals like in aus or africa NHS is good better than heath insurance in us -cons- weather is crap chavs, rap\hiphop culture, gangs police are crap expensive broadband is slow
  • Your understanding of the tax system is like that of a 12 year old. We don't have flat rate tax - 40% is only on earnings over around 40k. VAT would be passed on to your customers and you'd claim it back on expenses. Roads have to be paid for, they're not a freebie, and unlike many other countries, Britain has only one toll road.

If you don't like living in Britain, why don't you b*gger off and live somewhere else?

  • That is right, VAT is claimed back.

So let's say you have £100,000 profit, and you and your partner take a full split of £50,000 each as a salary, then no Corporation Tax is paid. You will pay only Income Tax on it, just like if you had a job that paid £50,000.

  • And before some fool says you pay 40% of the £50,000, you don't.

You get a personal allowance of £6,475 tax free.

Then you pay 20% on the next £30,925 which would be £6,185

Then you pay 40% on the rest (£12,600) which would be £5,040

You would also be likely to pay up to £4,259 in National Insurance contributions

So your total national tax bill would be £15,484 leaving you take-home pay of £34,516, plus you've paid for healthcare and a state pension.

This doesn't seem so bad to me.

  • Yes, that is exactly right.

  • dude! Seriously your high street tax accountant would deal with most of that tax for you - you'd pay no-where near what you're quoting.... just VAT for example - yes your company has made enough money that is has to charge VAT - but now you can claim back VAT on all business related expenses - that brings down your operating costs.

  • Trouble with road tax is that its a green tax... and you know how that lot equates in real life. The ved on a bucatti veyron must be a fortune due to its emissions, yet you could leave it in a garage for 28 days of the month and still be expected to pay more than a mini(bmw modern) driver who drives everyday. Just an example, if an unrealistic one, LOL

  • Damn, that's a lot of taxation! Doesn't really mnake for lots of mom-n'-pop style start-ups. Only ones who can handle it now are the multinationals who have way deeper pockets and can afford lawyers to seek out every loophole.

Love how you get to the pros and the vid stops!

    LOL!

Might I suggest a pro? Pubs! I really miss being able to go down to the local pub for a pint.

Where I live, you have to get in the car and drive 30 min. to a sport bar. :(

  • You get to meet Sven in the flesh mwahaha.

Not that im a stalker or anything.

    o.0

  • check out the guy in the Ford KA at the begining, his number plate is "pwn" =D

  • that looks like Brigthon / Hove :)

  • as far as i know britain is one of the only countries to pay road AND petrol tax... same as we're one of the only country to pay a blummin tv license

  • Also (to back up other comments), the 40% tax band applies only to income earned /above/ £36,000 (i.e. the first £5k is tax free, and the first £31k is taxed @ 20%) -- it isn't a blanket rate once you earn > £36k as a lot of people believe.

(Not to mention the fact that you would pay yourself dividends which are technically free of personal income tax liability up to £35k I believe). Total tax liability in this scenario is likely around 25% ?

  • Same with the taxes and VATS over here in the Netherlands :(

  • Pro's?.... Hmm, probably the fact we can emigrate at any time? =)

  • EVERY1 instead of seeing the other side of the pond as the U.S. come to Canada! yes we have our problems to, but how often do you hear in the news of Canada in billions of debt Canada starting a war, Canada's Prime minister assassinated.

  • someone i know is going there for college

  • haha i wouldnt come here for education though........

  • I've been. I'm a massive fan of Canada and the inhabitants, bit cold for me though.

  • yeah, i bet u would never hear this from a Canadian sven, (cept m13 maybe), but it hit -50c here a few days ago, ahaha i went outside just to check out how cold that really is, i fully regret going outside!

  • Hey Sven.

I live in holland and I can tell you that we dutchmen have to deal with exactly the same taxes. I personaly think it's pure theft! Thats why stealing is forbidden by law... the goverment doesn't want competision.

p.s sorry for the bad grammar (A) talking english is a lot easier :P

  • lolololol

  • This country seems awful because of the ignorance of some of the people who live here... they are ignorant and dont know anything about their own country, and claim to know a lot about other countries and compare the two!

Learn a bit about your own country first...

  • Also, all your tax calculations are wrong...

The 17.5% VAT is offset against input VAT,

    The Corporation Tax is 21%

If you pay CT, and draw out less than higher rate tax limit £43,000 as dividends, you pay no more tax on it.

So, the total you pay is 21% upto 43,000.

  • The pros,

Ask the millions who CHOOSE to live here, 60 million plus at the last count! and then the millions if not billions who would like to live here!

I choose to live here because this is the best.

Also the people who do not like it here can leave.

  • Alright.

Ask the Millions (and/or billions) If they know the cost of living in the UK vs where they were living. And juxtapose it against the Potential starting income. I think most would stay put. (Or make a worse mistake and move across the pond to america to be ridiculed by anyone who isn't in the exact same situation.)

  • The answer to the question is really simple.

There is a trade-off between the cost vs. benefit.

Countries with nil, or negligible tax regimes, (mid-east), the price is poor law and order, lack of freedom and no rights / civil liberties.

Countries with low tax regimes, only the richest save, as huge amounts of stealth taxes are imposed.

Countries that are visibly expensive, are visible better places as well, the UNDP and Human development index starts with some of the most expensive, check it out

  • The thing is, the UK would be so much better if we actually had a summer, or any sun for that matter... hell as long as it wasn't always raining it'd be better. Atleast then the shitness of this country would be made more bearable...

  • Damn and I thought the US was bad for taxes
