greetings from a german living in the Far west of the

    US of A

  • truly wonderful beyond imagination

  • When I was a kid I bought a cassette tape of Strauss waltzes and wore it out listening to it. I have searched a few times over the years to find an arrangement I like as well as what my reference material was, and I haven't found it. I randomly searched this up on YouTube to look again, and as I was listening I thought how great this version was and then I read your comment. Thanks for uploading this, what a great discovery to have made randomly.

  • @piontro and @Serros13: Now, now, you two, settle down and relax. Press "replay" and listen to the nice waltz music again.

  • un verdadero placer para los oidos !!!!!!

  • one of the most beautiful classical song 4 ever~

  • Of course GOD exists, look at the little sample of HIS creation, his name was Johann Strauss and like him so many others that glorify GOD.

  • @piontro wtf, wtf said that JS was created. he evolved like everything else on this planet not by a plonker who sent a snake to cause the world´s problems. go back and read the little jewish book of fairytales again, with an open mind and see it for what it is

  • @losarman

bashing a concept you know little about is worse than what your discribing,

try to think of existance like a baby,

a baby cannot give birth to itself. well never know the truth.

  • @baconstory having studied for the priesthood and having studied the bible for many years, I wqould think that I probably know a lot more about the ´concept´ than you do. Even tho you are correct to cal it a concept as it is not a truth

    do u beleive in evolution?

  • @losarman

I was tought evolution along side creationism. I understand how evolution would work, but that only explains so much, and to some extent, it has its flaws along side every theory of origin, and ill stick to jesus because christianity seems to create more helpfull+kind people in the world.

  • @baconstory where is your proof that christianity creates more helpful+kind people in the world. In fact the evidence would suggest otherwise. Atheists the world over get on by doing great unadvertised things. Christianity, especially the rc church only gets along by coercion. Either way it has nothing to with there being a god or not. There is a lot more evidence on evolution than there is on a god. Within the next years it will be shown that matter can be ´created´.

  • @losarman

i said nothing about matter being created, I was refering to existance all together,

and christianity wasent founded on facts its all about faith in contrast to evolution. But you can never be 'right' these days because that will only spark arguments :[

  • This masterpiece makes my mind travel to other times and places...If there is a God then he certainly is a fan of Strauss...PS: waldteufel78 thank you once again.

  • @Serros13 my pleasure

  • @Serros13 what do you mean by saying, IF ?? you just win a place in Hell.

  • @piontro Thanks for the info, man! Now I can finally kill my annoying neighbour without fearing the consequenses, I mean, I have already a place to Hell for that comment, right? What do I have to lose now?

  • @Serros13 es hermosa yo la baile con mi padre en mi primer matrimonio, fue increible y la orquesta tocaba en forma maravillosa, es imposible no sentir princesa, bailando una pieza con la belleza de esta.

    Saludos

  • Another beautiful Strauss waltz to repose and dream...

  • brilliant, makes your heart skip!

  • Precious! wow, you don't know how much peace it makes me feel, I feel glad automatically when listening this..oh my Strauss!!!

  • Yeah apparently a lot of people had a similar problem on other sites on the same day, something to do with 'ad sense' settings or something but it's all gone now. Hope I didn't worry you too much lol x

  • Strauss son dedicated this waltz to Umberto I King of Italy ("Nel più profondo rispetto alla sua Maestà Umberto I, re d'Italia"): so "The South" is Italy

  • Dunno why but when I load this page my virus checker comes up with this .. BNP7A\show_ads[1].js .. quarantines it but just thought I would let you know.

  • hi. no idea what the prob might be. it's working here.

  • nothing happes here. i think its ur PC

  • @EnochPowell2009 - I don't get it , but looking at the source - It's trying to show an advertisement based upon your machine's google habits. Interestingly, I can't see an advert on the right hand-side (although I often can when other videos are showing)

  • What is referred to as "the South"? Is it Switzerland?

  • It's probably Portugal. The waltz is from the operetta "The Queen's Lace Handkerchief". The story plays in Lisbon.

  • interesting

  • @waldteufel78 YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. IT'S SINTRA AND LISBON IN THE BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY OF PORTUGAL.

  • @waldteufel78 Yay! Portugal!!! Hahaha just kidding ;)

  • cool

  • Favoloso valzer!

  • Beautifully performed! I like it from 7:44 most.

Wunderschön gespielt! Mir gefällt's ab 7:44 am meisten.

  • When I hear this music of der Waltz König, all I can feel is the immense joy and light of this existence.

All the stars and angels and those long passed out of this land look down upon us from eternal meadows and hills. Their shining countenances light us up, and they bring nostalgia and love across the whole world. Nothing can be more perfect than the joy of humanity and our glorious, wondrous experience in this world.

Spread your happiness to all people!

  • Strauss always makes me feel flying

No one but Strauss can do what he does with the winds, the brass, the strings and the precussion. Everytime I listen to his work I am transcended to another time and place and my feelings overwhelm me

  • 6:27 too! they're all pretty!

  • 1:33 and 4:30-4:51 are one of the best parts

  • マチネの開幕に相応しい曲ですね。

    昼下がりのウィーン楽友会ホールでゆったりと味わいたいものです。

  • titi mo! hindot!

  • Very graceful.

  • great piece!

  • Even Jesus and the Holy Ghost will dance when hear all Strauss's Waltzes. Masterpiece!!!!

  • and then died again

  • Comment removed

  • wrong, but thats what u will be soon..

  • Strauss is amazing! Gives me a special feeling

  • Einfach nur super! 1000-Dank für dein eifriges Posten dieser ganzen Meisterwerke!! :-))

  • its a wonderful sound composed by a legend artist from the past but still love to hear form now and then

  • It´s so relaxing!! My mind is just floating in the notes. I forget everything abaut the world and want to dance non stop!! haha

  • yes, excellent version

  • My late father loved this piece of music; especially the 'chorus' which, correct me if I'm wrong is in D major. I too love music, where would we be without it? This goes from an almost poetic line to a building crescendo which only Strauss can perfect. I absolutely adore the Vienna Philharmonic New Year Concerts. They are a pleasantry of expectation!

  • Outstanding! All of Strauss creations are master pieces. 6:27 is soooo beautiful!

If people now a days listen to this kind of music would help being nicer people and minimize conflicts against each other including nations.

  • I agree. My favourite part of this waltz, too :-)

  • Hello waldteufel78 I really appreciate the information you gave us about Joseph Lanner and Michael Pamer. Thank you Thank you thank you. I love this music and specially Johan Strauss waltsez. But the honor should go to the one who deserves it

  • that would be Lanner and - then - Strauss :-)

  • OMG my favourite waltz of all time..I'm part-Viennese so I love the music of the Strauss family!! It will live on forever!!

  • Johann Strauss Senior was known as the father of the waltz, but his son Johann Strauss well and truly deserved the "King of the Waltz" title!

    Absolutely sublime!!

  • humm... I am afraid I have to disagree...

Johann Strauss senior was kinda co-father. the one and only true father of the waltz was Joseph Lanner. he developped the early laendler and simple waltzes of his teacher Michael Pamer into the legendary viennese multipart concert waltzes (before Johann Strauss senior did!)

  • It seems that Johann Strauss convinced queen Victoria that it was a grear dance and the queen lifted the ban against waltz in England. So I guess Johann is the father.

  • That happened in England, not in Austria, where the waltz was born. One important difference between Lanner and Strauss: Johann toured all over europe while Joseph played in Austria, Hungary and Italy only. In other words: Johann Strauss exported Joseph Lanners invention.

  • Strauss was the most brilliant orchestrator as well as composer of all time.

  • I adore this tune. Yiu can just imagine a nice sunny day with roses blossoming, can't you?

  • Wine, Women and Song! as someone said (forget who).

  • god bless the orchestra and all the musicians and the maestros!!

  • There are words also to this beautiful waltz are they not? Lizzy _Tish

  • hi MotherIlona56. yes, there are words. i guess it's several versions. for example for the vienna boys choir.

  • it's so nice ... incredible music...i adore it ... i adore classical musioc but this is my favourite valse

  • It's timeless !

  • I heard this song many times in my life ,especialy when I was young.I can remember my dog .I usually singed to my dog Cherry when i was a kid.I am so delighted to hear this song.

  • I love this song! We play this in Band. I play the trumpet. We don't play the whole song, but we are pass it. We also play surprise symphony by Johann C. Bach. But good job on this song!

  • I like it!!! It's genious, intelligent and still simple enough that it grows to every persons heart. :) Maybe i like it even more than THe Blue Danube waltz. :D

  • When I play it on the flute it's hard for me!

  • Sei gesund!

  • brings back wonderful memories... LIke the 1st of the New Years concert from Vienna...

  • I am sure you are correct in everything you say about this beautiful piece and its orchestration. If pressed, however, I would personally have to opt for the Blue Danube... it is so varied, re-inventable, majestic, romantic, cool... and a gift to new arrangements... This one has sent me scurrying back to the Danube... Thanks!

  • Sorry to differ from your opinions, but the masterpiece from Strauss is the waltz of waltzes;THE BLUE DANUBE.

  • this is my favorite of all of strauss's waltzes :) i've played it many times in my city youth symphony, and i never tire of it <3 its absolutely gorgeous and beautiful, and i always enjoy listening playing and dancing to it :)

  • I didn't recognize this by name but I instantly recognized parts of it, especially around 0:35

  • Really beautiful!!

  • Oh god, this is soooo wonderful !

  • Thank You for Uploading this wonderful little slice of heaven. Merry Christmas Everybody!! :)

  • beautiful music

  • the best Strauss'waltz maybe. i love this version

  • I think I may have a new favorite version of this waltz.

    Many thanks for sharing this.

  • Ohg i'm sorry. I was being stupid i forgot to turn the volume up.

  • :-))

  • awesome:) Like Strauss'es waltz:)

  • why dont i hear ANYTHING

  • I love Strauss, and this waltz. Thanks for the background info on the conductor and why it's your favorite version, very light and breezy. The orchestra sails sails straight through many places where others linger to bang the drums a bit and catch their breath. So technically good, and so beautifully arranged.

  • itìs the most beautiful valzer i've ever heard... i adore classical music and i'm a pianist and each time i can hear Strauss or ciaikovskij's valse i'm really pleased and glad. thanks for posting it.

  • What music. Can you imagine hearing this when it first came out? It would have blown your mind.

  • For sure ! :-)

  • Ich liebe das video!!
