  • omg Sir TYT, have our singapore government sue you yet for making this video.......

  • Another Singaporean judge violated international law again today by not only court ordering a man to prison but to be Tortured by Flogging (because of gender) This man will be stripped naked, tied up, and brutalized by paid prison homosexual perverts or sadistic guards and beaten over and over and over again 24 times until his flesh is mutilated and they have satisfied their fetish. These are human righs violations and sex crimes committed by a barbaric third world government. Disgusting cruelty

  • It's Chee So-on J-uan

  • Empty vessels make the most noise. Don't get me wrong, I was overjoyed when the WP took over the Aljunied GRC. But Chee Soon Juan is a dud; only capable of criticizing, never capable of executing. He constantly talks about how our government detained opposition leaders... in the 60s and 70s. Wake up and smell the air Dr. Chee. Us modern Singaporeans don't want to hear you whine and bitch about a broken system. We'd rather hear your ideas on fixing it.

  • @traveltalessg

It is exactly people such as yourself that help to keep things the way they are for those who wish to keep you under thumb. Some of the people detained in the 60s and 70s only were released recently. That is a serious problem in a truly Democratic nation. In addition, maybe if you actually visiting other political party sites you would see that they have a lot of alternative suggestions For Economy and Society as a whole.

  • Whenever I watch The Young Turks I am so envious of the freedom of speech you guys have over there. We don't have such a thing here.

  • Yeah, Singapore is perfect --no jury trials. The idiots bought into the USSA's drug prohibition even though they get nothing from it, except slavery. The poor women the cartels use as drug mules get sentenced to death (because there's no jury trial there, to at least weaken the ugliness of the immoral and stupid prohibition), and the fat rich cartelists created by the prohibition laugh. You have to be an idiot to believe a government without jury trials is perfect.

  • Singapore has the perfect Government, I would love to live there.

  • "Caning is nothing more than a form of torture. Singaporean authorities should revoke all laws and regulations permitting such barbaric practices, which belie Singapore's claim to being a modern and just society."-Phil Robertson, deputy Asia director at Human Rights Watch-May 2011. This immoral abuse of males continues by paid prison perverts under the guise of vicious laws in third world Singapore. UN sanctions are long overdue against this ruthless regime.

  • We do not have the freedom of speech at all. Singapore is in fact a well-disguised dictatorship. Singapore is like a listed company, whereby the shareholders (government) are only concerned with GDP figures, and not our people's welfare. The cabinet of Singapore draws the highest salaries compare to other countries' while normal households are struggling to pay off mortgages, education loans, car and other expenses. Indeed, the rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer!

  • Singapore is the only country in the world it seems that is able to have a strong centralized govt AND have a standard of living that is equal and at times BETTER than that of the USA...however there is one thing that Singapore has that sadly the USA does not..and that is a BACKBONE .. it's no wonder that average american teenager doesnt care too much about the law because America doesn't do much about penalizing, merely a slap on the wrist, B.S. like that doesn't go down in Singapore, i luv it

  • @protoman500

You've got to be joking right? I do have a warm place in my heart for Singapore and singaporeans. But the Gov is a load of BS. And I accept that. Let us not confuse "standard of living" with convenience of living. A dollar in america will buy you far more that what a dollar in singapore will buy you.

  • Pople cannot collect funds, hold meetings, get sponsorship, interview without a permit- and of course, permits are not granted. The courts will bankrupt an individual. Try getting ltitgation for any other matter, e.g. medical malpractice, civil damages etc and one finds it difficult. Even if one wins then the amounts are paltry. Many Singaporeans haven't actually voted because there are no oppo candidates in many constituences therefore there is note vote- automatic entry.

  • HAHA CHEE SOON JUAN!!! joke sia. if it were another person i might listen, but him?? come one so many singaporeans hate him

  • @yorkiedon that's because you've been reading too much media.

why do you hate him? why do people hate him?

    you must be rich.

  • @whytesurfer While what he says does have some sense, ultimately what he is causing, whether or not planned, is instability, poisoning the minds of people. Look at the opposition, like workers party, they dont need to resort to such methods of undermining the government, yet they have won a GRC and will continue to do well. Why, because they use the right methods, thus have gained the support of people, unlike Chee Soon Juan.

  • @whytesurfer Btw, me rich? haha no my father has an average pay of less than $5000 a month so does my mother. But life is all right

  • @yorkiedon

So joke because "other singaporeans don't like him" You are an fickle person then.

Perhaps you won't like sunshine, if "other singaporeans don't like it"?

Actually read into things other than the Straits Times and find out more. Dr Chee has won more awards in his fight for a truly Democratic than any other Singaporean.

  • @varlan But at what cost? Once again i stress that other opposition parties such as Worker's Party are able to gain the support of Singaporeans unlike CSJ. I believe what CSJ is doing has value in it. Democracy is what humans yearn for, yet it is the way in which he tries to achieve democracy that is truly disturbing. Is he truly bringing good to Singapore by fighting like that? Or are we progressing further with somewhat more reasonable opposition like WP?

  • We, normal Singaporeans, spend majority of our life paying for housing while Members of Government can easily get it few Landed houses with their annual pay plus bonus....

  • CSJ is a well educated and smart person blessed with an outstanding ability to deliver good speeches. Having said that, he appears to be suffering from compulsive impulsive disorder. His aggression directed at the PAP is not derived from his passion but his stubborn impulsive disorder. If he humbles himself to get some therapy, he may be able to tone himself right and help stop his wife and children's sufferings because of his egocentric subliminal aggression.

  • I would like to get the Singapore Government one million time stone cold stunner. And spit on the oppressive govert

  • Chee Soon Juan. Not Chee Swan Juan

  • What is mentioned in this video is true. I myself is a young Singaporean. In school, students are taught about government system and how good they are. However, they failed to mention any shortcomings that occured.

I myself felt scared to even speak up to the government or even have a massive protest in public as i will be caught and charged. But look, the government is blind to see that the internet have no police so Singaporeans like me can speak out and say what they feel about policies.

  • @tintinspartan They do police the internet as well...

  • @Urza26 U got any idea how they police the internet? How can i bypass the security? through youtube?

  • @nspeon If you talk about core issues without slandering the government itself, you're pretty safe... You can see lots of people talking about how lousy the Singapore government is all around the web though. It's not too bad now, but you still have to be cautious. People still get questioned for posting comments such as "burn the minister" even though the context obviously means to sack the minister instead of physically burning him or her. Just my opinion

  • @Urza26 U're so right. Btw Dr Chee and his Singapore Democratic Party has recently toned down (read: avoided more lawsuits-always good to have as few as possible when you're bankrupt) and focused on bread and butter issues like rising cost of living. The % of votes that they garnered for the May 7 General Elections went up 12% to about 36% while another opposition party won 6 seats out of 87. 1 of those 6 was our Foreign Affairs Minister. Our elections are not fradulent... just gerrymandered.

  • He is making up a lot of stories and has a persecution complex.

  • @mfleee He's fighting for Singaporeans, many of which are ungrateful wretches like yourself. JB Jeyaretnam, Teo Soh Lung and many others have been persecuted simply for speaking up for the people. "Persecution complex"? Have you been so brainwashed as not to recognize the sacrifices of these people and the bias of the mass media in demonizing him?

Or are you a PAP puppet? Btw, JBJ and him are friends and CST and him fell out graciously, not like what the media reported.

  • Vivian Balakrishna asked the poor: "Do you want to eat 3 meals in the Hawker Centre, Food Court or Restaurant?"

3 meals in a Hawker Centre would cost about $10 x 30 days would cost $300 monthly leaving $30 to pay for basic neccessities. The poor could hardly afford to eat 2 meals a day!

  • if singapore wants freedom , they have to earn it.

they can either revolt or leave it how it is without freedomof any sort

  • Comment removed

  • @ddp213 , its all a cover up. the government covers everything

  • Oh My Buddha/God/Allah/Mother marry/Satan...This trouble making piece of shit from my country even came to tyt....

  • whether he cheated or not, but one cannot deny the fact that Lee Kwan Yew admitted purposely bankrupting serious opposition leaders thru "justice system"

  • Singapore is not a country with democracy, it is not even communist. It is more like a company and the citizens are the employees of the company. The management enjoy the riches while the employees slaves away. Temasek holding is just another company owned by the LKY family that generates money for the government. Not the people.

  • Singapore is a pure communist country where the politicians are snobbish and pay themselves $3-5 million a year as their salary.

  • I live in Singapore, it really sucks , I’ve even got arrested for no reason at all because someone tried to frame me up for his pleasure, and my friend got held back for ages just for simply asking the penalty for marijuana for his school project .

PLUS the locals don’t even dare to revolt for their rights, I asked a cab driver ,but it was no good you know what he told me. “but we have no rights to revolt, its against the law”

They’ve already lost their sense of freedom

  • @hybridpyrotech you know. revolting wont help. just look at the other states. iraq, states, the middle east. Going against the government would only BRING CHAOS AND NOTHING ELSE.

  • @lifesoeasy America began as a revolt against the British. Russia and France revolted against their monarch governments and the initial chaos brought their people freedom(tho that can be quite subjective)...

  • @lifesoeasy Yeah.. You have a good point. Here the way to go about it is to vote for the opposition. Too bad many people are too confused to see the PAP's current sick policies for what they are.

  • @butterflye2020 - sound horror but the truth is - less than 3% jobless rate, more than 85% homeownership, so many foreigners rushing to work here due to its safe, good salary, truly integrity government. Highest GDP in the world - US$40,000 so migrate? Maybe you should and the further the better, bitch! Honey honey ,please state something that's fact! With so many plus yet you are still not satisfied , well, only heaven suits you but with your character , HELL is reserved for you!

  • @jacky777able Brother, I am living barely enough for myself. Credit outstanding, I cannot afford a house, my pay does not allow me to rent a house, my pay stagnant, pay comes pay goes almost immediately, food damn expensive... I already living in hell...

  • @jacky777able , 99yr leashold isnt exactly an ownership is it? they take the land back after 99yrs.. you dun own it permenantly, its a lease contract.. not homeownership dude..

  • @butterflye2020

Chee S.J. just like J.B. Jeyaratnam has a beef with govt. Why is this so? Only he will know the answer.

He has been convicted for claiming his wife's expenses as his own while working for the university as a lecturer.

Revenge? He joined the Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) - opposition party and proceeded to oust the Secretary-General & current MP Chiam See Tong. How can anyone trust him ? Can you?

  • @kimpexp1999 Unless I'm mistaken, he was convicted AFTER he joined SDP and only a few months after that. Now isn't that such a nice coincidence. Please stop spreading lies about people who are trying to speak up for the people. JBJ is also a great person.

No one throws their life away just because of a "beef". It's because of injustice, real injustice, that heroes rise.

  • ..correlation, with happiness..

  • Incidentally, US Minneapolis-based explorer n author Dan Beuttner backed by NGC (w 5 yrs research) with data from Washington Gallup, World Value Survey n the World Database on Happiness (7 decades comprehensive polls n studies) picked Singapore as the happiest place in Asia. He found that the correltaion with happiness on a worldwide level are based on factors like tolerance, equality and security, trust, access to recreation and financial security - "all of which Singapore has."

  • @renez100 lol, well look at what Singapore is up against! China as world's worst human rights offender, Japan for the world's highest suicide rate of developed countries, the whole Southeast Asia region where poverty thrives, Taiwan living in constant fear of China, North/South Korea in constant political and military scuffles (one of which has nukes), and India which is everything above.

What I would like to know is where Singapore stacks up with say, Sweden, Canada, Germany, etc.

  • @MilkByCow Waitamin.. Milkycow, you're holding a teeny-weeny tiny city-state and pitting it in parity with the huge countries? You're kidding.

Well, if you must know, we're holding up all right and doing the best we can to hold crime at bay. Just keeping our heads above water and surviving well, thank you.

Keep up with your piano lessons. I've yet to brush up on mine, I'ts been quite awhile and my fingers are getting stiff...practising arpeggios help.

  • @renez100 I'm merely comparing the average level of happiness of their citizens, not the strength of their economies. I'll say though, for a small city state amidst larger and much poorer countries, Singapore is doing pretty well. Of course the size of the country keeps all the wealth concentrated, which might explain why. And please, Germany is not huge ;)

random tangent: I don't take piano lessons :D, just listen to songs and copy from memory and ear. I no longer have a piano, however. :(

  • @MilkByCow Really really sorry for not replying earlier. It just didn't occur for me to check. I'm interested to know...Where's the piano?;(

Coincidentally mine is gone too, outgrown it with no time to spare. that's why I enjoy listening and deciphering the musical instruments used in any musical piece, contemp or rock. It gets me going...I don't care much for the lyrics tho. Times were when I didn't practise my piano pieces and sheepishly showed my injured finger to my teach ;D

  • How sad it is that we can't speak freely in singapore.

  • We e'v just got to admire this amazing woman who's Top TV financial journalist. Maria Bartiromo host of CNBC's Closing Bell and top-rated The Wall Street Journal, who was in Singapore to host CNBC's 9th Asia Business Leaders Awards exclaimed that "Coming to Singapore, I find this economy, so dynamic. 17 (17.9%) per cent economic growth in the first half of 2010, new areas of vibrancy whether it's tourism health, care, financial services. this kind of stuff turns me on."

  • All of you keep badmouthing Chee saying he's a liar, an idiot that probably wouldn't be able to run the country well if he were to be elected.

But did you know he gave up a good career and life as a lecturer in NUS so that he could fight for the country's freedom, OUR freedom, OUR rights. And yet all of you keep insulting him. Do you FULLY understand what he has had to go through. For being sued countless times, he had to sell his house just to pay up the fines.

  • @gshygs - are you crazy? do you mean someone cheated the university and was sacked then join the opposition to win a parliament seat was consider a great man by you? A criminal rob then try to become a opposition MP and that means he is a great man? you pity him as long as he wants to be a opposition candidate running against the ruling party , what kind of reckless voter! Dont tell grandfather stories , we dont buy it!

  • @gshygs oh yea, get your facts right...

  • Dr. Chee should be thankful he is living in Singapore and not US...

[[On September 24, Jason Ditz reported on Antiwar.com that "the FBI is confirming that this morning they began a number of raids against the homes of antiwar activists in Illinois, Minneapolis, Michigan, and North Carolina, claiming that they are ‘seeking evidence relating to activities concerning the material support of terrorism.’"]]

  • In the end, Singaporeans did make a choice to have their rights taken away for "superior" centralized governing... Whether it is good or bad is all subjective. And objectively, it is indeed oppressive to other political party candidates (lesser views and coverage, rule of law against other candidates, etc). The average Singaporean knows nuts about any other party than PAP.

  • The Associated Press Aug 2010 reported tht Singapore regularly ranks near the top in expatriate quality of life surveys, and the govt expects the economy to grow as much as 15 % this year as trade, finance and tourism boom after the global downturn. Foreigners from developed countries are drawn to jobs in finance, shipping and at corporate regional headquarters.

Far from scaring them off, Singapore's tough law-and-order policies tend to attract many expatriate families and other visitors.

  • dr chee looks like thewinekone

  • Dr Chee should stop embarrassing himself by watching his behaviour and stop making a fool of himself.

  • @bonchygeez

Umm..hello, have you even been to Singapore. I know I have been there and live for a while, and it's terrible in human development. No kid

  • @strongyang The standard of living is extremely high in Singapore, so i dunno whad ure talking about. Ive been there before too and i know many singaporeans. they haf better quality lives than the avg americans

  • @killerchipmunkattack

Well, that doesn't reflect anything. You don't know how opressive it is in Singapore. If anyone turn against the government of Sinagpore, imprisonment will be sentenced. The standard of living DOESN'T NOT EQUAL to THE QUALITY OF LIVING.

  • I don't think Pres Oama will bother about Chee because Obama has already been to Singapore for the APEC meeting. Singapore showcased the Marina Sands, Marina Bay, CBD, Suntec City, the city streets, cleanliness, shopping malls, our disciplined and well-educated people and the efficiency of even the cleaners and service people who keep Singapore spick and span.

  • how can various claims here on the two extremes in singapore ensure the survival of singapore?

how did the anti-american sentiment come about here with this tyt interview?

for such a small island that keeps barking , can one say that it can't bite when racism raises her ugly head amongst the races?

given the great divide between the malays and the chinese, will comments here only create a greater divide between the majority malays and chinese have-nots against the minority chinese well-to-do,

  • see goodbye to Chee. Chee, byeeeeeeee.

  • Don't tell lies. Tell the truth, why you were jailed?? Singaporeans don't even support you. Your percentage in the electoral votes in EVERY election shows ZILTCH!! Oh Please.. don't talk crap Obama . as well as, the business world, knows more about LKY and Singapore more than you think he knows..Good, you;'re just embarrassing yourself here for alll to see.. You belittle our govt and leaders and country. Even the poor, uneducated old folks vote for our govt , just not you! They know too.

  • @TacticalOrgasm You're from Canada? hahaa! Singaoreans aren't easy to outsmart! who're you trying to kid? prolly someoutback in ulu Singapore.,,tsk tsk!

READ ppl's comments on your profile page again and again. it tells enough of how users think @#$%% of you..Proves to us that youre just a louse. LOOK AT THE NAME YOU CHOSE FOR YOURSELF! Educate YOURSELF. Poor breeding.Tsk tsk!

  • @trini133 haha, my "NICKNAME" doesnt prove anything u dumb motherfucker. u cant even argue ur point coherently u stupid fuck, i suggest u go fuck urself and ur amazing grammar, dumbass

  • @TacticalOrgasm Man, you're from bad upbringing. full of bad words. NO wonder your page is filled with hate comments dissing you back. You must've done something that ppl are pissed with you. We know where you're coming from- Singapore, not CANADA. Singaporeans don't trust your party, that simple

Go educate yourself on Temasek Holdings July 2010 's Hardwarezone forum in Singapore. Its portfolio climbed to $186 billion......

Corporate Credit Ratings" Standard & Poor's AAA, Moody's Aaa.

  • TYT, are you aware that the SDP Party that Chee is heading now is because he ousted the founding partry leader, Mr Chiam See Tong and Chee's mentor. The former invited Chee into the party without any inkling that in a matter of time that his protege would 'bite the hand that fed' him'.

Ask the Singaporean why we don't trust Chee. If we can't trust him with our govt research fund which he dipped into for his wife's personal work, how can we trust hime our our state money?

  • @Tyroneblu7

if the media gave CSJ more airtime, Singaporeans would definitely listen.

  • @whytesurfer I understand ur point of view. One must have a clean slate - be it from ANY party to be fair to all. Maybe CSJ was too forceful in his words that it scared the hell out of me tho' the present govt needs to finetune its ways too.

  • Gosh! Am I glad I found this clip! What a horrid man this Chee is for such distorted views of Singapore!! As a Singaporean ,I believe that to get the whole truth of how we view this man, do come over to Singapore and interview the man-in-the-street, young, old, poor and needy.and ask why they keep electing a trusted govt. We are free to vote and we don't want him. Singaporeans give Chee's SDP party a strong miss. He always gets the lowest votes-15%!! Singaporeans know his past record.

  • @renez100

You are hilarious. Who counts the votes? Why need to put your name on ballot? It is all about control. Only people who can make singapore better for the whole society is someone with the mind and charisma beyond anyone else. I think it would be interesting to see an outside study done of complete anonymity to find out how people really feel. And even still I think that that would be impossible because many are too afraid.

  • @varlan You , I think are hilarious, not me dude. Travelling is my cup of tea but where I call home? - it's Singapore, my homeland. Maybe not to you. Vancouver BC? Toronto? not bad I'd say, beautiful weather - 4 seasons. It's coming winter but not for me. Love it as a holiday destination tho.

I tell you, my cousins' families packed off when Singapore wasn't world class. Their jaws dropped on arrival here- they were amazed at what Singapore has become and I bet they had some regrets.

  • @renez100 Where someone calls home is unique to each person. You and I are born in the same country - possibly even the same ancestry - but Vancouver, BC is my home because to me, there is nothing like a hot coffee/latte/chocolate, smoking a cigarette, wrapped in a warm coat and a toque while snowflakes fall slowly and silently around you. The cool damp air in spring carrying the musk of oncoming rain.

I could continue but point is, your comment is bordering on blind nationalism.

  • @goshadowkenny Oh, I literally meant to advise varian that Singapore isn't as bad as he made it out to be. It was like he was fleeing Singapore as if it was depressive when it isn't so. Clearly, both countries have their own exceptional qualities and I love being in Vancouver BC, so wholesome and vast, Grouse Mt...n the sharp chilly air. We've 2 generations there and we still visit each other.

yes,I know..w hands cupped around hot brewed coffee n overlooking the snowy landscape.

  • @renez100 I checked out varlan's comments and I believe they are legitimate in the sense that his POV is not unique as I've heard similar claims from my own father (whose family has lived in Singapore for 5 generations, and still do). True, it's a far cry from China or North Korea but from what little I know, the current administration doesn't run the country as a true democracy. And I believe that is what varlan's point is.

  • @goshadowkenny 5 generations in Singapore n they haven't left..that's good . Been to Singapore then? Check out these vids >>Resorts World Sentosa, LAS Vegas Sands, Disneyland, etc. We've had the YOG recently; and the F1 Nite Race attracted 80,000 ppl n 500 million viewers around the world. It was so successful that Bernie Ecclestone wanted 12 more years held here. True democracy can cause chaos, riots, injuries resulting in instability . Singapore is small n there's no room for error..

  • @renez100 5 generations in SG and they continue to stay because of financial circumstances. I myself was born there, but left as a toddler. I have visited on occasion, and I agree what a beautiful blend of natural and metropolitan structures, but the issues in question are internal, vs. your international-relations examples. Again I haven't lived in SG long enough to form any opinion, but I just want to bring to your attention there are ex-SGers who feel hurt by the gov.

  • @goshadowkenny pardon me if I don;t understand your plight. If it was some mismanagement on somebody's part or something like that, then that somebody has to answer for his upperhandedness. . like, I'm not surprised that there're ppl who'd get over their heads and think they're overall in charge when they're just holding a MINOR position in the govt. P'raps, these the spoilers then?

As for me, I'd go to the highest in authority for assistance and override him to prove MY point.

  • @goshadowkenny May i ask who truly enjoys these Resorts, F1 races etc? The security guard who works double shifts to make ends meet? Some civil servants even moonlights to earn extra income to cope with our living standard. And how do this constant struggle to make ends meet affected our family life especially the youth? Ahhh Downtown East slashing, that was a good example. How do Singaporeans cope with loans to maintain themselves? Ahh the Ah Longs. All is not pretty in Singapore my fren..

  • @renez100

So, I realize that you said they haven't returned....apparently the regrets aren't enough.

  • @varlan Hi that was 3 mths! Simple. The fact that they've been away for far too long blew them away when they saw how Singapore is now. They'd never expected that we'd advanced this far, and even then they knew they couldn't set up roots all over again nor would they be able to assimilate into our culture..

I don' think anyone would want to start all over again especially when the parents themselves aren't in their prime. They certainly did leave with starry eyes in awe and admiration.

  • @renez100

    Fuck u

  • @rosewood223 eerrr. Gosh, NO thank you!

Hey, the whole of Singapore knows about Chee soon Juan. I'm not the only one. It's been reported in the newspaper. You could dispute it by writing to them, not to me....sheesh!

  • @renez100 You know how many young adults are supporters of SDP and how many Singaporeans hate PAP and Lees?

  • chi suun juan had sex with white men

  • jacky777able appears mentally unsound or incapable.....

  • Comment removed

  • this idiot is the worst singapore opposition politician , a liar , brain washer, asshole

  • @jacky777able he is a brainwasher??? so is PAP!!!

  • Singapore is a corrupted country. human are their resources. Please think again the goverment back in the olden day are not the same any more.

  • considering relocating here -- must be out of my mind, if i listen to this guy. if you're listeining out there -- let me know what's going on.

  • @pobaldy66

Well, I've been here many years, and if you are a foreigner you are treated like gold. But if you have a shred of dignity for human rights, I would suggest against it. I will be leaving soon. Unless you are into banking, finance, engineering, or IT, you will be living a shitty life. Mind you if you are in those fields or Single man or woman looking for adventure...then its awesome...for a couple months... Good luck whatever you choose.

  • At the time when Singapore got separated from Malaysia in 1965, do you know that the black pple can't even sit beside the white pple on a public bus without being attacked on the other side of the globe? Histories foretold crimes committed in less enlighten times throughout the world. Why would I want to base my human rights perspectives on those who have committed worse crimes? Time changes, try to keep up without resorting to vulgarities.

  • Another crass accusation. Grow up, nothing in life is perfect. Issues shld be handled appropriately and situational to requirements as changes are inevitable even as we argued now. Continue to dream your utopian dreams.

  • jooss0202 , it is time for you to convert to sdp supporter

  • Convert to sdp and become one of the dimwit like urself or wendyneo who waste time making dorky videos nobody else thought were funny except the sdp pple? No thks have better things to do with my time.

  • Hi Joos, if you are not converting to sdp supportter, then be anti-PAP will do.

  • You need to go for brain washing to be anti-PAP.

If you are in your 30s , then you ought to be anti-PAP. We will help you with it.

  • sylvester134 , not only are u making no sense, critical thinking too seem to have gone to the dogs...

basically think most sdp's recruits are this calibre

  • @joos0202

I don't think that you understand the importance of the videos. What that woman was demonstrating is that there is major injustices. I'm sure I will leave Singapore very soon as well. It has been a great eye opener for me to see this area of the world and how wild it is. I feel terrified for my children and I swear I will bring them up to be critical of anyone or anything that tells them that they must suffer for the greater good. This is life...sadly humans haven't evolved...

  • The human rights countries that you envied are committing worse crimes to POWs, religious and communist fanatics. Go ahead based your standards on theirs.

  • joos0202 , In Woodlands .. SDP had won 30 over % supporters. You are still sleeping.

  • Sembawang 2006 election sdp over 30%?!!! sylvester134, ur either living in another woodlands from some ulu country or ur still not born in 2006..

my 1% is based on entirety...

Wanna tok big? Get urself qualified to vote first.

  • Which countries in the world now that is not fighting terrorists, putting security in first place? For multi-racial society like us, security is our main concerned not chee's ego.

  • Violence and chaos are not justifiable esp, when avenues for recourse are in place. Would you rather then have mounting deaths and damages just because people couldn't manage their emotions??? LA riots and Filipinos' examples are the worse examples, because you clearly did not understand the systems that led to the outcomes. the 57 deaths connected to the Filipinos' govt , showed that the pple are not ready despite the Marcos event two decades ago.

  • Another flawed argument, "human rights failures?", your claim or 99% of Singaporeans' belief? Why not just state that you believe chee and sdp entirely and unquestionably. Now why would 99% of us rejects sdp and chees?I choose to believe 99% of the populations so, shoot me.

  • Another flawed reasoning, because someone rejects chee and sdp, they're followers of pap? Your presumptuous and judgmental ways just sound more stupid. Whether it's sdp or pap, one should verified their claims b4 stating our positions and not be blind followers of words. Pple are not without vested interests.

  • Unlike you I will not take anyone words without checking and validating its relevant and facts. That is the difference between sdp supporters those who are not.

  • Peaceful protests. Have you any empirical studies on the impacts of these protests??? The protest are there because, the ruling systems were failures. One do not protest blindly for improvements, we made suggestions and studies their feasible implementation. This is an area that Chee and sdp had failed miserably.

  • Under what circumstances would you say Singapore systems are total failures. If there're not, the next questions should be how to improve and keep up with changes. Street protests are means to an end when all things failed. They shld not be treat treated as the ultimate goals in representing democracy esp, when you do not know how or why things are the ways they're. So why wld I want to be led by a bunch of nincompoops like sdp?

  • There're many ways to be heard. If u can articulate your reasons forcibly, you will have supporters and be heard. Define "bravery", just because I don't trust SDP means I'm not brave? We've many choices, you think I'll be around because if I'm "fearful of dictatorship"? Do u realize the flaws in this line of reasoning?

  • "Speakers Cornered", go and watch this video and ask yourself were Chee and his SDP devoid of the opportunity to assemble and gathered? With hordes of audiences and reporters there, did these bunch of nimcompoops made any significant speeches?

  • Are bad behaviors typical of americans, filipinos, australians? B4 u answer that question, go and read up on the 92's LA riots, 57 death in Philippine massacre and attacks of indians students in australia. With Chee's past records and you believe s'poreans are all saints? Someone needs to wake up from his Utopian dreams.

  • What so big deal abt getting permits for gathering and speeches? You have a huge location, audiences and even journalists (in most of SDP's gathering, reporters are always there)? Is that oppressive??? S'poreans are no saints and so are americans. SDP Chee's rouge like tactics in the past are notorious, he and his party strive on chaos.

  • @joos0202 In SDP defence they were following Ghandi's tactic of civil disobedience. This would expose the brutality and inhumane face of our system. Just like how it exposed the barbarity of the British colonialists in India.

  • What is TYT? Inconsequential small timer that didn't even bother to research on the topics of interview. 8:11 Chee's "people are terrified to vote for oppositions" . Then, how to you explain the 2 opposition wards that have been around for 2 decades??? Most of us are already tired of calling the CSJ the liar. This show say a lot abt what kind of crap can come out of such an American show.

  • I was just talking to a girl from Singapore. Very cute girl. XD

  • SINGAPORRRRE! Hooray, my lovely autocracy! Give me ten years to work on my technique.

Cheen Soon Juan is a joke.

  • Why is he a joke? He sounds like a the type of freedom loving person who should be supported.

  • not very effective, plays right into the ruling party's characterisation of the opposition as economically stupid troublemakers.

  • I hate this fucking capitalist dictatorship! Fuck Singapore. I think they should be part of Malaysia, period!

  • yeah, the constitutionally racist, Muslim nation. Nothing against Malaysia, but we both have our problems.
