How do you deal with rebellions in this game? I have tried playing as Japan and a few thousand revolting peasents will defeat a trained, fully maintained army that greatly outnumber them everytime.
I wish you would merge EU 3 with Victoria 2, I'm sick and tired of just playing different games all the time, try to do a smooth single run covering mideival times, rennaisance, enlightment era, industrial and modern.
just click with right mouse button on nation herb *for example chose grand campaing , and right click on france herb, --- whe rest of nations available will apear) greetz and simply chose what nation will you play
a little qustion. how is this game different to EU3? I mean why should I download this game instead of playing EU3? And is there the byzantine empire?
nope, it doesn't have better graphics. it does have a plenty of new sprites though, a new AI and gameplay mechanics, also they've added a plenty of new possibilities to mod the game and they're constantly working on upgrades afaik. you'd better ask on their forum.
apparently they gave in to the gravest demands of their fans
i play hearts of iron, eu, victoria... but this game i dont understand the mechanics... 15 infantry, highest possible morale versus 2 rebel= defeat to the soldiers? i dont know did they calculate it because it does not show the battle modifiers unlike hoi or viki
@JurishzteR which reminds me of my nephew who played EU2 and FTG for almost ten years now. If you lose, try going back to the province you came from, then try again. Every time a dice is rolled, so there's always a chance of losing. But i also found rebels very hard to defeat. It is duly noted by FTG-developers.
this is the same of EU2. but i have missed one of the most interested thing in this game, you can not change the culture of any town. for example: constantinopel was an greece culture(orthodox), after 1453 is it a turkish cultur(sunni). you can only change the religion but not the culture and its very unhappy
Hi everyone! Quick update compared to EU II: ·Simplified and improved user interface ·New graphical content incl. tailored sprites for individual nations & cultures ·All original scenarios improved & rebalanced ·Improved AI ·Vastly improved modability over EU II · Gameplay improvements including; - New core types of warfare - New privateer leader type - Reworked & improved spread of Protestantism - Reworked rules for calculating supplies & attrition More info in the sidebar!
It was an editor that let you easily create your own scenarios (edit provinces, dates, events, countries, etc.) instead of having to go through all the csv's yourself :) E.g. start as USA in 1400 or set all selected countries to 1 province. Unlimited fun!

@techyourself Personally I like this for some reason better then EU3. My first EU game was #3 but I saw this one one steam a year or so ago and got it. Its less complex for sure, but I like it. EU3 is a great game also
haha, one doesnt play the europa games for the stunning graphics, and thats what is so lovely with their games, they dont go for fancy on the surface, its all depth. i one is looking for fastpaced stunning graphics then this is the wrong title, if one enjoys a true strategy/simulation game, likely this is bingo.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
This would be worth a try if the graphics weren't so crap. If someone wants a good looking game of this type, try Hearts of iron 3. You can do the exact same things and probably more, plus the graphics wont let you down.
I'm enjoying myself when I play it, so I'm not wasting my time playing it. Just because you think it's waste of time doesn't mean it is. Actually me writing this comment as a response to your BS is.
Most people who enjoy EU2/HOI2/Victoria/CK enjoy themselves when they look at the "crap" graphics. Preferring good graphics over inferior gameplay is hardly being educated.
I've also played HoI 2 and enjoyed it very much despite the crappy graphics. HoI 3 is also superior to 2 in other ways than graphics, for example, when playing as Finland, you can afford to lose one or two provinces to Soviet Union, while in HoI 2, the strategically important province of Oulu is just 2 provinces away from the border.
Well, I must admit, even if I'm alone, that I prefer a nice beautiful and light 2D game than something in 3D, slow, for actually nothing more in the gameplay than the 2D.
It's very brave to do this and I'm happy they do not make this game with the same design as HoI III or EUIII
EU3 is one of those games that I dearly wanted to get into and bought it on release day, but because I'm not a geography major, I never could get into it. Those popups that occur asking you to confirm something with another country and only the ability to confirm or cancel, and yet since I don't know that country and the window stops me from checking things out, Im expected to give a split second answer. This always left me flat with EU3. I always hoped they'd change it, but never did they.
Well I don't know if it's different with the expansions but I have EU3 and both expansions and when an event happens you can pause the game and look around the map, also there is a button on the right that you can use to search for provinces.
Really? I'll have to have another look then. But it's always bugged me that there isn't simply a button that says somethign like 'GOTO" that would simply take me to that province, (place on the map) from whom the request came from. That would so simplify finding where the requests come from, and eventually teach the user some basic old world geography from the vast amount of events that pop up in the game. Thanks for the reply, I'll load it back up and see what's up with this.
I know what you mean, even though you can pause the game, and even though there is a button to search for provinces I can sometimes take 5-10 minutes looking for some obscure country. I've even resorted to alt+tabing to google the countries before. :) really though this isnt to big of a problem. Another thing is sometimes you will get a message and you can click on the Coat of Arms(the shield) that came with the message and it will teleport you to that nation. However sometimes it's your shield.
@HonestObserver EU3 i have to agree, FTG is another kind ;-) I find the map of EU3 too blocky (no other word) The map in FTG is beautifully curved, like the maps those days were.
It's made on the enigne of EUII by a group of modders from the Paradox Forum, but with acces to all hardcoded stuff of the EU II engine. That's what I understood about it ;-)
