I love BMW they drive like mostly nothin out there but i got to mention that this is the stupidest thing bmw has done. Why the hell would you remove the dipstick on a petrol engine that uses oil. If the any of these model's engine break down because the oil level mechanism failed are you gana replace these cars no questions asked BMW? I thnik I will never buy or recommend a bmw to anyone without a way to check your oil level that dosent rely on sensors whan its much easyer with a dipstick. :(
Electronic components are designed to fail. Never seen an oil dipstick fail. I can't buy another new BMW, can't trust the oil monitoring system. Owners have arrived at track day in their newer BMW and the monitoring system malfunctioned, telling them they had no oil in the crankcase, only to learn it was indeed roperly filled, track day lost. You cannot change your own oil now, you must pay the dealer to do it. Such arrogance cannot be rewarded by buying a newer BMW/Merc/Porsche.

Such a load of bollocks this.
A dipstick is a fool proof, 100% reliable piece of kit. What if some sensor goes wrong, leaving you with inaccurate or no readings?

My gosh....is having a dipstick included with a new car such a crime?
Unbelievable
