@slicstur He did, but the air box design is really bad and lets a ton of sand in when riding in the dunes. This may have contributed. My CRF450x just got back from the dunes this last weekend, did great.
I had a 2005 crf450x, loved it when I had it, not so much now ever since I sold it for a 2004 wr450f. the steel frame feels so much better and the machine is insane trail riding and great for hillclimbs. Both great bikes, but I lean more towards the WR... Great video, looks like fun.
@ptr82 We are both partial to our own bikes, but I would really say the CRF is better. Below are some points to back my argument.
1. The CRF is way out lasting the WR. The CRF is a 2006, the WR is a 2007. The WR has already been in the shop for some serious engine work and has way less hours than the CRF. The CRF has not given me any engine troubles or any indication of trouble (stickler for maintenance, use an hour meter).
@Brandonjnapier I have a 06 WR450F, must say, it handles pretty average i really use to rear wheel, throttle and rear brake to turn it usually. I always wanted the CRF-X but couldnt find one. Had one issue with the battery not charging when i got it. Fixed and aint seen an problem since. It has 2800kms. Does yours have the YZ throttle stop and grey wire mod? If not you need it. Mine has those two things, air box mod un plugged exhaust, it fairly hauls ass!
Dang serious engine work on a 2007?? thats crazy man, did you change the oil and air filter as needed??

2. Suspension and handling on the CRF feels better.
3. Electric start on CRF is 10x beter.
* WR has a speedo and cool little computer
* WR is a little snappier on the throttle.
