i do not get what synth pop has to do with gay - must be some wrong wiring in someones head together with some kind of low self-esteem complex because metro sexual does not mean gay- but let's talk about synth pop: I love the riffs of synth pop from bands like yazoo, erasure, depeche mode, mesh, human league, soft cell, abc, and early spandau ballet are still outstanding, catchy and timeless. not to forget the influence synth pop has on modern acts like lady gaga and david guetta - thanks

The idea that synthpop is for gays has its rootsin the Heavy Metal culture in the 80:s I think. I grew up as a hardrocker so I know how the talking was. That and the fact that both Neil and Chris in Pet Shop Boys were gays and Andy in Erasure did not improve the reputation.

Then I bought Depeche Modes single collection 86-98 in the autumn of 98....I remembered it still today. As soon as i heard Dave Gahan in the intro of "Stripped" I was trapped. Then I was converted in to the synth music...

Thanks for the sample. I was browsing for tunes new to me. Given how much music is avail., I'm glad the net allows me to wait for the *amazing* to come along.

Waiting for the "WOW" song. For me, a song like that is VNV Nation's "Beloved." (well, VNV Nation does this fairly consistently IMO). And One's Panzermensch is another that blew me away. But suffers from severe overkill, as I played it way too much. But I remember how I felt when I first heard it - which fits my point.

How is synthpop gay? Regular pop is gay. Synthpop is underground and retro and extremely cool. This is coming from a teenager constantly swamped with mainstream crap. I would take any of these bands over N.Dubz any day.
