  • I am astounded by the cellist's tone. The choir was amazing as well, but as a cellist myself, she brought tears to my eyes. Easily my favorite recording of this entire piece! Well-done!

  • this movement sounds like deep breathing.

and honestly this was my favorite movement of this entire requiem to sing as an alto.

  • good

    make my nerve calm down

  • I read through this last night at a choral sing in Greenwich Village , New York. I really liked this particular part of the piece.

  • We did Requiem at Owens Community College Near Toledo, Ohio. It was an awesome and fun experience learning this song

  • Out of the whole requiem this is my favourite movement. We had John Rutter himself conduct us when we performed this

  • zeer mooi. Wij leren het ook . uitvoering in maart 2012.

  • We sang this in college in a large cathedral. Amazing choir director and instrumentalists. It was truly one of the finest moments of my life to be a part of that performance. If you ever get the chance to see or perform this piece, do not miss it.

  • This version of Pie Jesu rarely fails to draw tears to my eyes. Small instrumental ensemble version enhances the intimate mood of the piece much more than the full orchestra version in my opinion.

The soprano's voice is a beautiful as she is.

  • I love this. Sang it my sophomore year in high school in a choir as big as this. I loved every minute of it.

  • I love this requiem, actually I sang it in my choir, too. This music is so amazing and haunting... :3

  • Psalm 130 1Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD. 2Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. 3If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?

4But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. 7Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption. 8And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

  • The cellist provides a performance that is out of this world. Overall, this entire choral performance and the instrumentalists is outstanding in all 7 parts of this requiem. I'm quite familiar with the Cambridge Singers' performance of this requiem (which is probably one of the best), but these guys here provide something really special in their approach. It's perhaps something intangible for technical description, but the emotional beauty is strong and splendid. Bravo on all 7 parts!

  • such a nice solo...i've been practicing this for my high school orcestra

  • sang this with my choir and a bunch of others in carnegie hall in late june, he is an amazing man with quite the sense of humor

  • HAHA listen tho the horrible cough at 3:25

    I LOVE IT!

  • Okay

  • wunderschön...

  • "I look for the Lord, my soul doth wait for him in his word is my trust".... this passage is rendering, well done.. .thanks for the post

  • I've officially died and gone to heaven... what a masterpiece! Goosebumps all-over. Thanks for sharing!

  • Awesome piece! My props to the choir and especially the cellist.

  • ...someone coughed at 5.26-27, and against at 5.48. That was the only blemish in a wonderful rendition. Such power!

  • I love this part. I always am brought to tears when I hear it.

  • I think this is my favorite of the entire requiem. The words are so powerful...makes me glad that Rutter put in english as well as latin.

  • Geez, he is taking it really slow. Plus the choir seems to be behind in entrances. Like they can't seem to catch up with the instrumentalist. The instrumentalists sound beautiful! Great cellist!

  • im singing this song in carnegie hall in a couple weeks and i am so excited! this is such a beautiful song
