  • o kurwa!!! mocni są!!!

    POLAND RULEZ

  • Yes this looking a bit dated. Amazing how ignorant some people are about dance. . . .

If you wanted to describe Modern Jive a more accurate description is to say it is part of the Discofox - Hustle family. Definitely not Salsa

  • Well Done, this is a lovely set of French Jive Moves, there are always critics, they criticise because all they can do is pick holes. Keep up the good work, very exotic!

  • ok people learn americano and keep negs to your self ,half a mil hits is good work ,what do u have , ok am gonna have some chips now

  • Brilliant dancing. Excellent example of modern jive, also known as Ceroc and LeRoc (trade names). If you don't know or recognise this style of dancing, don't make uninformed comments.

  • It is such a shame that our videos have been muted. I believe that dancing to a track promotes the music and makes people wnat to buy it. We pay all royalties within Australia for the use of this music and still we can't post it here! Greed really spoils things.

  • @naturally2 I saw this video a while back with the original sound track. I love it! And agree, Greed does spoil things, but your technique is still there and that 's all that counts. As a professional instructor / dancer I am always out looking to break some rules or to construct something new and interesting for students. You guys have put together something that's really cool and neat. Thanks for sharing. This is really superb.

  • @ultimateskydancer

Thank you for your kind comments. I am afraid that this style is looking old now and I've been slack in uploading new content. But your compliments are appreciated nonetheless. Brent.

  • I teach Modern Jive and the moves are VERY similar to the SALSA moves. The only thing that is different is the footwork and this makes it easier than Salsa

  • What is this track ? was the original track the same kind of rythm and tempo ?

  • Don't people read anymore? The video's title clearly states that this is MODERN jive, not Jive. I mean, damn, you people who miss that need to go back to reading 101 and with a quickness.

  • its called CEROC!!!!!!!!!

  • i;m a professional dancer and this is not jive..it's a rumba or a salsa.research more the technical moves

  • Please note this is called "Modern Jive" not "Jive" they are two completely different dance styles. "Modern Jive" is over 20 years old. Where have you been? For the others below, this is also nothing like salsa because there is no thee-step-pause. This is sometimes called ceroc or leroc (company names). It is meant to be a straight crotchet 4 step, low to the ground - no knees up, no hopping or skipping, no triple step-rock-step. It is made simple for people who have never danced before.

  • Thats not Jive... There is no bouncing or kicking, no knees up. Thats more like salsa

  • W00t!... thats awesome :)

Wish i could move like that. Then id take my sexy girlffriend out dancing all night long :))

    HIGH FIVE!

  • its sexy man...too good nd smooth

  • sorry but that isn't a jive choreography... that is a mixture of salsa, merengue and bachata... but i see only one jove movement (at the end)...

    sorry that is no jive!

  • Well come and tell my Ceroc French Jive instructors that! Because this looks mostly like what they are teaching.

  • a agree with DanCze

  • This isn't a jive, it's actually a completely different dance style called "Modern Jive" (some people refer to it as Ceroc since that's the name of the company that brought it to Australia, unless I'm mistaken). They have a similar name, but they are two completely different things. Lol, I've never seen Modern Jive look so much like salsa, but that's just because of the way these two are doing the moves.

  • What s the name of the song please

  • I like 2:17 :D

  • also das is jive... würd ich nie tanzen wollen. und es is schon seltsam wie der typ seine hüften kreisen lässt . . .

  • not for me ballroom all the way

  • i totally agree.. this type of jive is good but too slow for my liking

it's too much like sals (obviously not with lifts) but the lifts are really good aspect of it :D

  • Jive can be done at any speed ^_^ , maybe not all the lifts but dips, drops and spins can be done extremely quickly. I do jive and prefer to dance much faster.

  • The video title says teach yourself.

That means that they can't do this faster, you can do many of these things much, much faster with practice ;P

  • umm..salsa much?

  • haha, good point, some of those moves look suspiciously similar salsa

  • classy!

  • like you xx

  • Cool video... it makes me wanna learn how to dance.

  • I prefere the Jive (from latin ballroom dancing!!). Just because it is much faster, much harder to learn and much better looking ...

  • jive is latin genius!

  • Nobody can make sense of that comment of yours. Jive comes from Swing/Rock'n'Role and a few other dances. It is a mixture of them. The Jive I was refearing to is the Jive from Latin Ballroom Dancing (5 Dances put together: ChaChaCha, Jive, Rumba, Samba and Paso Doble). So if you are saying Jive has its origin in a latin country you are wrong.

  • latin africans in the carribbean along with Black Slaves in America put together the Jive...it has similar roots as the Samba and latin blacks in south america...im a professional dancer...learn to ride the horse a little better before you start showing your ignorance to everyone...your just going to embarrass yourself even further junior.

  • hm... I don't really know what to think about Modern Jive... it's easy of course but it looks kinda.... random? clumsy?

Maybe I'm a little too much into the other dances to like MJ; it lacks a style...doesn't it?

  • lol... it's derived more from merang and rock n roll, than salsa...

but who cares about what it's from... the fact is.. it's fun, it's not difficult, so all you noobcakes who can't do other styles of dance can learn it...

issue though: what's with the word easist... what does that mean?

did they mean to say easiest?

because it's pretty easy to learn :P

GO TO CLASSES, and stop dissing the dance.

  • omg you people are so stupid, you see jive and think thats exactly what it is! did you fail to read the modern in front of it??? its dance style derived from Swing, Rock and Roll, and Salsa and some others

  • looks more like salsa...definetly not jive ppl

  • Why so many ignorant comments. Please read below before making a fool of yourself. This is not salsa or jive. It's Modern Jive - it's a dance style all of its own.

  • @naturally2 those comments are not ignorant ;) the tilte 'modern jive' makes people expect something like...well, modern jive :) and the dance on this vid looks nothing like jive. I dance salsa and I agree that this thing looks much like it!

  • @naturally2 (From someone who dances Modern jive / Blues).. Best not argue with idiots, they always bring you down to their level! I bet most of the negs have racks full of black and white shoes and probably dont dance to well !! ;).

    All the best.. D

  • its sexy dancing

    rofl.

    not jive.

  • Where is the bounce? This is not jive! :D

  • This is not jive - nor does it claim to be. It is modern jive. No - you don't "skip" you walk. Many people know this as ceroc. Ceroc is a company. Modern Jive is a dance.

  • yeah.this looks like salsa.check the steps.its salsa steps.deffinetly not jive.but nice.

  • this is not cha cha or jive .

    sorry people .

  • it isnt chacha

  • ni, it isnt chacha

  • This is the same style of tune as Pusherman written and performed by Curtis Mayfield.

  • thx for the fast answer! btw choosen a great song ;)

  • No problem thanks.

  • What' s the one on 1:12 called ... sry if it's a dumn question ?

  • we call that the "layback sweep"

  • How do you call the figure from 0.42?

Great job, such a shy that you live do far away:)

  • It's a tacky name really - "death spiral". I'd prefer falling spiral or something.

  • i mean this specific version

  • Can anybody tell me the name of this awesome song?

  • tilt ya head back from christina aguilera and nelly =)

It's not jive music, but cha cha (I think)

  • I would really like to see how she stands up again ;-)

  • Nice Jive - check out my jive.

  • c'est pas du JIve ca ! ! ! !

  • Why name this dance modern jive when it doesn't have NOTHING similar to standard jive!In my opinion this looks like night club free style dancing(not an disco dance)...

  • Please read the other comments about the difference between Jive and "modern jive" They are completely different styles and Modern Jive is widely known and danced as above in UK, France, Australia, New Zealand and many more countries.

  • I like it. very sexy looking dance.

  • nice for biginners ... but i prefer reagual latin dancing and therefore the ballroom jive ;)

(i know it is "modern jive" not jive, there are some stupid people here posting :)) )

  • You call it jive? :)

It's just basic 4-step hustle - the way we dance it in Russia is absolutely the same.

Basic steps 1-2-3-4, men starts with left leg, lady - with right.

    :)

  • We don't call it Jive we call it "Modern Jive". There's a big difference. - yes the footwork is just straight 4 steps.

  • btw, when you use the name "Modern Jive" and when you use the name Ceroc or LeRoc? They are different names for the same dance, arn't they?

  • Modern Jive or LeRoc or Ceroc - it's a French dance, like 4-count Hustle is a Russian form of American Hustle or Discofox is a German form of American Hustle and doesn't belong to Ballroom Jive.

  • The reason why Modern jive has become popular is because the footwork is so simple - it's a great starting point for those who have never danced before. Yes Ceroc and Leroc and other company names teach basic Modern Jive.

  • this is kinda salsa not jive....who the hell r u to put u'r videos on youtube 7 tell beginers that is jive?

  • It's not salsa, if it was salsa it would have salsa footwork, and salsa music. And I believe the title is "modern jive"

  • I like the way you start with "kinda" salsa, implying you don't really know yourself then going onto telling people they are wrong. This is infact 'modern jive'. A basic dance style design so that beginniners can learn and more 'advance' dancer can also attached more complicated steps such as salsa rumba and so on, allowing two skill level to easily dance together. That is the geniuous of 'modern jive'

  • I don't understand the first part of your post, but I agree with you on the second part. What do you mean "telling people they are wrong?"

  • the song is by Christina Aguilera and Nelly. It is called "Tilt your head back"

  • OMG...this dance is awesome...wow

please can somebody tell me whats the song of this video pls.......????? Is it Christina Agulara???

  • Yes it is Christina. I think the song is called "heat"

  • OMG...this dance is awesom...wow

please can somebody tell me whats the song of this video pls.......?????

  • Hi guys [:

    Great video.

My teacher at school is teaching us the whole jive thing but it doesn't look like your beginner oness...

our teacher like. based it on *rock back on right foot (for girls) 1 2 3 (left) 1 2 3 (right) and then yeah it just keeps repeating themselves. do you think you have any routines to help me create my own for my partner and i?

  • Jive is not the same as Modern Jive. the tripplets and rock step are not used and the tempo is much slower. Modern jive suits the top 40 hits and dance hits music that you hear in clubs and at parties these days.

  • Nice video ... I like your web site and the clips on there ... I've only done 5 lessons and need all the help I can get! I will be purchasing some!

  • Thanks Cabair. O look forward to seeing you there.

  • Congatulations Brent & Karina on the 10,000+ views breakthrough with this excellent video of yours.

from Gerry ( in London )

Looks like the " still " theory has worked this for you.

  • Thanks Gerry for all your help. Have you noticed my last video with a light bg. Not as much attention to that one as yet.

  • if I could dance like that

  • nice moves..

but this isn't the dance sport jive ryt?:p
