What Kentucky wants is for its administration to be constitutionally efficacious in the face of crime which acts to coerce and/or cheat others of their liberty and happiness. The' war on drugs' has cost in excess of $400-billion since the 1970s, has had no impact whatsoever on the use/availability of drugs, and has entangled the US in the moral hazard of foreign adventures of highly questionable morality. Prostitution is not criminal per se, even if it is objectionable to some.
You always have the choice to relocate to streets less bothersome to you and your kids. And given that so few of the streets are frequented by prostitutes and./or drug dealers, those streets should not be hard to find, especially in these time of economic crisis. As you well know, the majority of drug dealers and prostitutes do not ply their trade in the streets, and are not exclusively limited to that line of professional activity.
charles, they do all that in the streets now, although furtively, if Rand Paul has his way, they'll do it openly, and there'll be no fear of any punishment.
So your son can see the woman down the street selling herself to get some shopping money, and hey maybe when he sees people buying drugs all the time, he'll be interested enough to try buying some for himself with some money he finds in your house, might think its candy, or maybe he's older and just wants to try it.
Selling drugs to minors is a crime, and what my kid knows the danger of, he is less likely to buy. If he does, when an adult, that is his choice and the blood price for liberty. After all, he could decide to go and campaign in Gaza Strip for the Palestinians, who play us for fools, and get accidentally killed by an Israeli bulldozer supplied by Caterpillar. Prostitutes have to live too, and are not a danger. Rand Pual will not be forcing anyone to buy drugs or the services of prostitutes.
@RogueSwordThesco He does seem more of a politician that Ron, you're right. Ron is a politician too though. We are always going to have these leeches. But Rand and Ron are better than the rest.
If you vote for leeches, you get leeches. In addition, you can always offer your own services as a politician to raise the quality of politics. There is, of course, as described by Hans Herman Hoppe, and Linda and Morris Tannehill, the possibility of Anarchy, if you want to really exercise your options. Bit radical though, considering that 60% of Americans prefer to not even bother to vote, yet vigorously complain about election rigging, in the election marginal.
The State of Oregon needs a great guy like Rand Paul or other men/women to run and replace some of our legislators who believe they should be in for life.
Many of the legislators of the State of Oregon are financed by the unions, teachers unions, PERS (Public employee representative system) who belive they are entitled to MUCHO bucks at the cost of everyone else.
I thought so too. But I've never seen it stated anywhere. It is quite a huge block of undecided's. Very much worries me. It ain't over till it's over.
That's right... It ain't over. Keep plugging away and spread his message. Having two Paul's in Washington would be a great start to restoring our republic.
This is the first commercial guys. Political ads in general suck. He can either run a negative campaign ad or he can repeat his name 5 times so people will look his name up and find out what he supports. It's first contact.
Rand Paul could be President someday and more power to him.
never mix campaigning with trying to educate. the idea is name recognitiion. a person might agree with 99% of what you say but they find one thing they say "I knew there was a reason i dont like him"
Now if Rand will just get past his notion that turning over Congress on a calculated calendar via term-limits is not a workable option, he might just yet become a true Constitutionalist.
As we all know the 22nd Amendment has hardly prevailed in securing "better" quality Presidents.
Perhaps instead of "Term-Limits" Rand will learn the value of allowing the states to select/recall its Senators and work towards a repeal of the 17th Amendment.
I support Rand of course....but I actually thought this was a little too schmaltzy, it is the kind of ads all the career treasonous politicians run...the appeal of Ron and now Rand has been their constitutional values combined with straight talk.
@dlc208 - While I agree with you... he still has to convince a significant portion of the voting population who don't do their research to understand what's wrong with D.C. This ad appeals to those folks and is more in line with what they expect to see from a politician.
I understand what you are saying. I guess this why I think we need to bring back voting requirements! I'm not from Kentucky btw, so I can't vote for Rand, but I have been participating in the money bombs. Just to have 1 good senator to help counterbalance the bs of my 2 horrible career senators would be great.
man i wish i lived in kentucky so i could vote for rand..

Great Ad to start with!
At work I got an Independent and a Democrat to switch to Republicans so they could vote for Rand.
It's too late to switch parties, but get all the like minded Republicans you know to vote for Rand Paul.

Rand is leading 43-21 in the polls. But I don't get it cuz it doesn't add up to 100. Who are the other 36% leaning toward?

I've been thinking the same thing about Rand being president someday. I think it could happen and what a blessing that would be. Go Rand Paul!

I support Rand Paul, but frankly, I don't like this ad. It's empty, no real content.
Balance budget.
Oppose undeclared war.
Non-intervention foreign policy.
Honest money.
Rand, don't hide your father's value. Be proud of your good father, then you can be a good son. Betray your father, you're nobody. Keep this in mind.

Same here (Ohio). What really cracks me up is that I've never contributed to a campaign for anyone local, but I gladly threw money at Rand.
I've reached the point where I'm just going to support anyone who "gets it" because my congressional representatives flat out "don't get it".
