Well played but possible a bit too fast? Yes its a scherzo but some bits still need to be lyrical. Just some advice I got from my teacher! (Im an oboist btw and playing this for my grade 8)
You played this very well. I am from Georgia and I am wondering how far this audition made you there in Texas. I know it is really competitive and I am wondering if this was good enough for All-State or Area. If not, WOAH. it is more competitive than I thought.
Dude slow it down I graduated in 2001 and the trust me the judges like to hear more accuracy than speed. Slow ur role just like the other person practice slow to build muscle memory and just to let you know you started good at the begining but towards the end u can hear ur emboshure getting weak. That's why u have practice on strenthing ur cheek muscle it just take time.
I don't think you know what you're talking about...at all, freshman! It was well executed and there was nothing wrong with the "EMBOUCHURE." I would like to comment on the grace notes though. They seem a little cut off. You should feature them more; make it more prominent but, your staccato fits perfectly fitted to this piece as opposed to your other recording.
so area is probably right around the corner, but my best advice is to slow everything down (mainly the two fast etudes) and drill them over and over again focusing on clarity and accuracy, then gradually speed them up to tempo. it helps tremendously to develop muscle memory...which helps when you get in there and get nervous!
i dont kno if its just me but u very closely resemble a boy that went to my school named Joseph.....and i swear its either u joseph or he must have a twin

@bigstick0007 Why are you trying to play Ferling if you have played less than a year?
