  • hi! love your videos but how often do you straighten do your hair?

  • @loquit4rock about once a month.

  • were u get heat protectant ??

  • @cassandra1095 sally's beauty supply. idk if they still have that kind there.

  • u look so cute in curly hair...u dun even need to starighten it...i wish i can have curly hair !

  • you're hair is so freaking cute either way.

  • thanks so much for the video! you have helped me so much! yaay!

  • About how long dose that take?

  • @amandam180 it depends on how long my hair is. at this length i think about 45 minutes. at my current length it will take more like an hour. (just flat ironing.)

  • @waterlily716 Alright, Thanks :)

  • You look really pretty with your curly hair, but straight is still pretty too. :)

  • Wow you look great with both straight and curly hair! Hope my hair gets to be just as nice I've been working on it using your methods!

  • dose this work for guys too? because im a guy and i hate my dam curyly hair. my mom is always wanting me to get hair cut. but i would perfer straight hair :'(

  • @Daydragon1234 yes, a flat iron will work on any length of curly hair. you just have to be careful that the hair doesn't stick up at odd angles--check out NicolaFoti straightening video. he uses a mini flat iron.

this only lasts until you wash your hair again, so it's wouldn't be a permanent solution. also why is it that you hate your curly hair? i think it can be really cute on guys. :)

  • @waterlily716 you want to do it for me? :D lol and oh well that is tooo bad that i dont know you :/ because i would sure love to hear that out of your mouth haha :P.

  • @Daydragon1234 i'm actually pretty bad at straightening guy hair. :) i tried it on a friend and it came out really weird looking... lol

  • @waterlily716 just takes practice :) thats all hehe :P

  • @waterlily716 just takes pracitce im sure the 2nt time will do the trick :D lol

  • your tsk sound annoys me, but you look great with straight hair :)

  • u have like the exact same hair as me :)

  • Would it be bad to leave ALL the conditoner in, instead of just a little?

  • @MissDarcei I think it depends on the type of hair. My hair gets a little greasy, and not as voluminous if I don't get enough conditioner out.

  • looks straight, but poofy.

  • @fxckingbrutal lol that wasn't poofy for me. i just have thick hair. aka volume! :)

  • @waterlily716 maybe it was just the camera making it look like that too me then :b

  • how in the crap do you keep your hair straightened all week when you do it once a week. becuz i wash myn every night and when i wash it it goes back curly. so how do you do that. i have to starighten myn every morning and im so tired. it takes me almost 2 hours. then when its time for school im sooo tired that day!!!! HELP!!!! thanks

  • @SuperHoneybee45 I don't keep my hair straight for a week... I usually leave it straight for three days tops. What I meant in this video is that I don't wash or get my hair wet during those three days; I just wear a shower cap or something. You should try wearing your hair curly sometimes too. It's a lot less stressful. :)

  • @waterlily716 YAH! I KNOW! THE PLAN WAS 4 ME 2 GET UP A 4:30 IN THE MORNING 2 STRAIGHTEN MY HAIR FOR SCHOOL...NOOOO! IT TAKES WAYY 2 LONG AND BY THE TIME IM DONE IM HOT AND SWEATING AND THE ENDS GOES RIGHT BACK CURLY! I SAID 4-GET IT! IM STICKING WITH STRAIGHT 4 A WHILE! :D

  • yourr hott!~!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • are you hispanic?

  • lol, no. pero yo hablo espanol. i'm irish//scottish/welsch.

  • @waterlily716 tu hablas espanol? genial! a mi tambien. yo tengo 13. (im in spanish 2 at school XD)

  • @LexipooLuvsChu si. estudiaba espanol por siete anos. :)

  • Your hair is just like mine thank you

  • you kinda make this a bit more harder than it should be....

  • You look so cute, but you hair being natural is awesome-er

  • @kkgemini86 yeah, I have heard of wrapping, but after watching tons of times and watching multiple videos I kinda gave up. My hair is much longer now, and super thick to boot. I'll check out that bid though, thanks! But I think I'm just gonna get my bf's mom to teach me lol :)

  • I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet but you can wrap your hair at night to keep it straight instead of putting it in a ponytail.

In fact, the ponytail might dent your hair depending on the kind of texture you have.

This is the best wrap with natural hair that was straighten I saw on here (/Wu6MLzN7XZo).

Feel free to search "wrap hair at night" on here for more examples! Btw, you can use whatever scarf works for you or a sleeping cap (I use the cap lol).

  • heyyy, m watching your video for the first time, but i must say your a really good teacher! Well made video mate! keep up the good work! God Bless!:P:P

  • Your hair reminds me of Marilyn Monroes hair.. really pretty :3

  • how long does this take? and do you like your hair better long or short? ive been trying to grow mine out for soooo long and its finally down like 4 inches down my back (when its straightened, when its curly, which is usually most of the time, its half an inch or an inch past my shoulders) but the more it grows it seems the more harder to manage. i want to cut it but im afraid i will and then hate it and have to spend years growing it out. what do you think?

    thanks!

    God bless XD

  • @bigsislivie with my hair at this length, at my shoulders when curly and several inches past my shoulders when straight, it will take me about forty five minutes. when my hair is curly and reaches five or so inches past my shoulders it takes me about an hour and fifteen minutes if i'm being thorough.

  • @bigsislivie longer hair is always going to require more time and effort, especially curly hair! so there's no escaping that. deep conditioning treatments and trims are important to keeping the hair easy to manage. just make sure when you go to the stylist to get a trim of about 1/4-1/2 inch and not a cut of like three inches! do you have a devacut trained stylist in your area? they give great cuts that will make the hair more manegeable. hope that helps!

  • @bigsislivie p.s. i can't decide whether you should keep your hair short or long--it's just your choice. but i made a video awhile back about the pros and cons of each.

  • hi, i lovee all ur vids. u'v helped me get my curls wayyyyy better! js wondering.. do u kno how to straighten hair without the heat? i saw a vid about "wrapping" hair.. but im js askin u coz ur my curly hair expert. plz resond, thx !

  • I Hav very curly hair like u in the winter is stays straight but not in summer do u have any advise for that? I also am up early for school wen it's very damp out mess's up my hair any tips for keeping it straight?

  • @ninaiscool13 honestly if your hair is curly, it's going to get frizzy when it's humid out if you straighten. i usually check the weather forecast to make sure it's not humid before i straighten my hair. the lower the dew point, the less humid it is. hairspray will help somewhat, and make sure to straighten your hair on a high heat setting.

when it's really humid outside i recommend going curly, because it's just easier. your hair wont get frizzy. :) check out the rest of my videos for tips.

  • you spelt aqua wrong

  • @Aylistxo it's actually correct. :) "agua" is the spanish word for water. lol :)

  • @waterlily716 oh my mistake hehe :3

  • @Aylistxo not a problem :)

  • Luv it

  • Hey im a guy my hair is just below my eyebrows if i pull t down but its super curly and poofy would i still be able to do this? I wanna go emo lol

  • @lpatw Yup, you could still straighten your hair and it would work just tine. Just remember to take into account how much longer your hair will be when straight. It will probably gain an inch or two... but you could try wearing it kinda spiky so it's not in your eyes, or just get a haircut. :)

  • @waterlily716 ok cool thanks =)

my dad is makin me get a pretty big haircut so i wont be able to for a while but once it grows back ill buy a flat iron and try it out

my stepmom also found this weird gel stuff that doesnt make my hair hard... like it feels normal but it still holds pretty well. i havnt had my hair spiky since 7th grade XD its been quite a while i dont think ill look all that great with spiky hair tho lol

  • @lpatw it sounds like your mom found you normal styling gel, lol. :) you could always just wear your hair curly :)

  • @waterlily716 oh lol and i would but it doesnt look emo =/

  • You look really different with straight hair!

  • my hair is so curly its annoying!!! i do your tip though by straightening it for a week in stead of every day ( i only do it for special occasions because it takes to long) my friends always asks me if i restraightened it ( like if i wash it the night before then staightened again)the next day when i do do it i say ya but i really dont cuz i know they would be like "eww gross" sooo shhhh dont tell!!!! hahaha

  • @ice10112 yup! i go like four days without washing when I straighten my hair. it's really not that gross as long as you still take mexican showers lol. and curly hair never gets greasy! :)

  • my hair is very thick and curly and i dont have much stuff in my house 2 get it tamed

when i straightened my hair with the flat iron it is and was frizzy lots of it and sticks out 2 the side....

its a pain i hope u can help it be tamed

ok im dun and its not as good as i thought it wud be =p

  • my hair is very thick and curly and i dont have much stuff in my house 2 get it tamed

when i straightened my hair with the flat iron it is and was frizzy lots of it and sticks out 2 the side....

    its a pain

  • A tip for you is,

once you've straighten one peice of hair, move on, and go to the next then you can go back over it once its cool. its better for your hair.

and how long does it take you to straighten your hair?

  • @Deanna247 hmmm i guess so, but i feel like i would forget which ones were finished. it takes me about an hour.

  • @waterlily716 my hair is just like urs to and it is soooo annoying

  • My hair's superr curly like yours too! I hate minee so I almost always straighten mine.. Unless I'm having a "lazy day" haha!

  • @alexxis931 hahaa almost everyday's a lazy day for me--see my other videos. much less damage and much less effort. :)

  • Wow looks like you have some VERY thick hair! Idk what my hair is. Some days its almost straight. Most days its wavy, and some days it has random curls. Its about medium thickness as well.

  • I wear my hair straight everyday and my hair gets curly every time I walk to school I put my hair in a ponytail and wear a hood over it but it still starts to go curly. Do you have any suggestions?

  • @theabba567 only straighten your hair when it's not really humid outside. google "hair forecast." also try straightening your hair on a higher heat setting and in very small sections.

try wearing your hair curly sometimes. it will cooperate with the outside much better.

  • @tennisgurl206 yes, lots of people have a mixture of waves and curls on their head. you seem to be describing a loose 3a pattern. that type of curl generally gets tighter as it grows longer too. google "curl type" and click the first link for more info on curl types. ;)

  • How long does It usually take to straighten your hair? :D

  • @Pixie1343 forty mintues to an hours depending on how long it is. for that reason i don't do it very often :)

  • lmaooooo

"I also like to have a glas of water....cause I get thirsty"

    ahaaa wicked randommm, love it.

  • @LookItsColette hahahah that's me. but seriously it gets hot while you're straightening.

  • WOW!! finally a white women with real curly hair. All the vid's on utube bout straightening are white girls with already straight hair wanting to straight their hair!

  • @lovelygirlvira I agree! lol wavy ≠ curly

  • what hair protectant do you use?

  • @theabba567 i don't often use one.... but i should. i have trouble finding out without silicones. i know tresemme heat protector is good. (my friend uses it.)

  • Damn u look way better with straight hair :) and thanks for the vid but I don't have that much of curly hair lol

  • I think this way personally takes to long because I always do my hair in the morning before school. I love ur hair tho it's so pretty.

  • ya 200..is it too much or too less?i have tried hair spray..but leaves my hair sticky later ..i have frizzy wavy kind of hair...

  • n i dont use any kind of products before/after ironing..

  • @sshh510 some hairspray may help. what brand of straightener do you use. 200 degrees celecius did you say?

  • i use a ceramic one which has a switch to adjust temp...n the max it has is 200c..n i iron my hair at tht temp!!!

  • why is tht my hair becomes wavy just after like 15 minutes....?? :'( first it wil b pin straight then puff everythin goes off!!

  • @sshh510 you may not be straightening your hair at a high enough temperature. what kind of flat iron do you use?

  • how long the hair stays straight?

  • @sshh510 until you wash it with water. it may become poofy or a little wavy overtime though, especially if it's humid outside.

  • how long does it take u ?

  • @about 40-45 minutes

  • @waterlily716 same it takes me th same amount of time i thought i was the only person who took that long

  • Is your hair frizzy also?

  • @sillyxwilly93 a little, but not much

  • i have super culy hair !!!

  • my curls look like frizz!! argh!! do you know how to get rid of that?

  • try checking out the rest of my videos--they're all about dealing with crazy curly hair. :)

  • looks good!

  • What if im a guy and have suuuper curly and somewhat long hair but just want to reduce the curly ness so it hangs down more rather than get puffy? But I certainly don't want it as straight as girls have it.

  • The only way to do that would be to get a chemical relaxer (rather damaging). Or I get you could use a large curling iron to make waves in your hair.

I bet with a better haircut and more moisture in your hair (leave-in conditioner and gel would be a start) it would be just as curly, but less poofy though. :)

  • You're so gorgeous with straight hair :D

  • i have the same hair except mines shorter. it kinda gets a little puffy, do you know how to sorta stop it from doing that?

  • when straightened? wear it in a low ponytail with a scruchie and most of the poofiness should go away.

naturally? check out my other videos. specifically the styling one.

  • my hair is almost as curly exept that for some reason the roots on the top of my hair are pretty straight

  • they're probably curly, but getting pulled down by the weight of your hair perhaps

  • yeah maybe! i wish yhey wer curly though so i can get more volume there because when i straighten it or even when its curly it looks flat.....i hate flat hair!lol

thanks for the vids, they are very helpful, now i dont have to staighten my hair as often!!!

  • I know getting a hair relaxer is damaging, but I've seen ones that you have to put olive oil in after and it has olive oil in it. Will these relaxers cause less damage? I am kind of tired of straightening my hair because my hair is almost as curly as yours.

  • To be honest, I don't know a lot about different types of relaxers, sorry. It's probably still damaging tho.

  • gel makes my hair get wavy again....

  • really? when i use just a smidge it doesn't do anything.

  • i have reallllly curly hair and i use gel and i iron my hair at night but i showered in the morning so i already have the gel in my hair is it bad to iron with gel in it?

  • nope. and if your gel has silicones in it, it will actually protect your hair. i find that when i iron gelled hair it's not as soft however.

  • great!

    thank you sooo much!

  • how long does it take 4 u 2 do all of that??

  • oh 40 minutes to an hour depending on my hair length

  • oooh, ive used that gel before. i have super curly poofy hair , and i used it to define my curls.

    nice vid:)

  • you should blow dry you hair first

  • nope! it gets really poofy if i try to do that with a round brush.

  • same i never blow dry my hair !

  • when you put gel or something wet into the straightened hair at the end, does it get curly there??

  • no, that was just gel, and it didn't make my hair wave at all. it just makes it softer and smooths down any baby hairs. :)

  • This helped me so much! THANKS! :D I Subscribed!

  • yay! thank you :)

  • are you spanish ?

  • hahaha no. i speak it decently though, and i enjoy the music/culture.

  • This video is good thanks!!

I have the curly hair too but I hate it!

I straighten it everyday and, well I want to stop but I just think it's so ugly! Any help?

  • It is really hard to get out of a straightening rut, but the reason your hair looks bad is because it's probably really damaged. Check out my Curly Girl Method video and naturallycurly . com :)

  • Hehe, You Remind Me Of Buckwild(x

  • Your hair looks so cool when it's straightend! :D

  • I always feel very glam, but my curls are more me if that makes any sense. :)

  • first, I love your videos :)

I have really curly hair like you, I find that the top layer of my hair is really shiny and soft, but underneath is really dry and frizzy, what do you recommend to make it just as managable as the rest of my hair, more product?

    Thanks :)

  • Are you talking about straightened curly hair or hair in it's natural state? My hair is also naturally more coarse on the bottom layer. Using more product is definitely good and also try to shape the individual curls. I twirl sections around my fingers, and I find this prevents a lot of flyaways. hope that helps! I think I'll be doing an example video in the near future.

  • thanks :)

  • your hair is beuatiful!

    like you!

  • Great video! :D Could you please tell me what your curl type is? I think it's pretty similar to mine... And what do you ask for when you get your hair cut? Because your hair cut is adorable!

  • Thank ya! My hair is somewhere between 3a and 3b. I didn't ask for anything specific, just long layers and face framing ones.

  • o my god thanks cuz my hairs really really like urs like the same and i'm getting a chi this summer for school it seems in this video it works real well where did u get urs ??

  • I'm not sure; my mom got it for me at christmas. But I know they're available at beauty supplies like ULTA. :)

  • thank u hhehehe u rock :)

  • yea so im a guy for starts.. and i hate my wavy hair.. its not curly just like, ridiculous... id say its roughly 4 1/2 to 5 inches. my hair is also very thick.. i will be getting it trimmed a very small amount and thinned as well shortly. i have no experience with hair at all nor do i know if im at all capable of straightening my hair, but i do have 2 sisters. what would you say is the best straightening method for me to try?

  • Um, really I don't know. The other day I tried to straighten my guy friend's hair, and I was really bad at it. You can try it but I really don't have any other advice than to embrace the waves. :)

  • aha hmm i was considering the japanese straightening method for a semi permanent affect. do you know anything on that?

  • yup, i do. i've never had it done personally, but i've read up on the process and such. it's expensive (150-200 bucks) and lasts for about 4-6 months at which point your roots will start to grow back in textured. it uses really strong chemicals so it's really damaging.... as you can tell i'm not a fan. :/

  • hmm yea i was pretty conflicted about it for a while, but yesterday, i tried straightening it, nothing special used to straighten it the flat iron was curlmaster ceramics and worked its magic, i first combed my hair out without a product oh it, it was simple cause i begam combing it wet and blow drying it, then i just tilted my head and attacked it. it worked very well actually, course that not something to do often because i havent bought heat protection yet.

  • In the picture at 7:07 you hair was SOO light lol. and the rest of the time it looks really dark. ?

  • i think that was the flash from my camera at 7:07. my hair tends to turn more goldeny in sunlight, etc. :)

  • I take four hours Lom

  • wow! how long is your hair? i would never flat iron if it took that long.

  • it'z not long it'z medium it'z just curly curly though I just have straighten my hair like 2 cuz of that

  • thank you so much for the video=]

  • you're welcome :)

  • wow u look gorgeous both ways!!!! curly or straight..

  • wow your hair is so cute straight!

  • thank you!

  • thanks for the video.....i used to flat iron my hair once a week but i felt like it was damaging my hair so now i do it like once a month, if that. its so time consuming though!!

  • ditto--I only straighten my hair like once a month since it takes like an hour and a half. I never really got addicted because it was so time consuming and I am lazy. :)

  • i feel the same way

  • thankx for the video
