I've since got the brigadier, blue sky and el capistan...! mainly using the latter two, but I may sell the delays to get the new timeline, all depends on how good it is, for example if the timeline can do all the nuance secondary settings that the el cap can do it's well worth it, tape crinkle, bias, e.t.c, same with emulating the brigadier, if it does that then they are onto a new classic delay! it already looks to me like it will be even better than the eventide, can't wait!

@btyremanable Nice rig you got there! I'm also really looking forward to the new timeline. I don't have my El Cap anymore, because I didn't like the hard switches. In addition, it did sound awesome, but ultimately I preferred the tone of the timeline. Although the original doesn't have a tape mode, the repeats are extremely lush and the modulation is breathtaking. The smear control is also very unique and nice for ambient soundscapes too.

@btyremanable new timeline doesnt do all of the secondary functionsof the el cap or brigadier-thats according to strymon btw.

is the strymon worth the money? it seems like the very best tape delay simulation, I need a really high quality but musical delay, it's between this one and the TC nova delay (which has 9 presets) but isnt as beautifull sounding, I make a LOT of ambient music so, maybe someone who ones the strymon can help me? regards, Ben

@btyremanable If your doing ambient music, I'd highly recommend the El Capistan. I've tried the Nova a few times at the shop, but have never been that impressed. The El Cap just sounds so gorgeous.

@btyremanable If you're not touring, I would just buy a real Roland RE-201 or RE-150. I own an RE-150 and got it for 265 dollars on a certain auction website. People complain that there's maintenance involved...Of course there is, and it's well, well worth it. People don't seem to bitch about having to change the oil on their car.

@smartti1970 The delay you can hear in the beginning is just the strymon. I have the spring reverb on it a bit cranked. From 00:20 I turn on the WET. And then from 00:35 I turn on the timeline. Swells were done with the guitar's volume knob.

Oh, man, don't get me started! I always get completely filled with adrenaline (and have a constant headache), especially now the project has become so much more complex. In a way, it's an addiction for the best and the most-easy-to-control. ;)

@DemoColorScheme Yeah, I totally understand that feeling;) MIDI makes me dizzy, and your new rig is a whole new level of complexity. I imagine it would be really easy to control once constructed though;) I may get a programmable loop switcher of some sort along the line, but that's probably the most complex it would get... at least for now!
