@aksiadn i'd imagine it's because of the low down torque and power available from a V8 and the lack of turbo lag or even being off boost at low revs... Not the way forward if you ask me, surely a massive V8 is to heavy to chuck about a drift circuit?

Almost every car in this video has a 2JZ. The Soarer has a 1JZ i guess but all the chasers have 1.5JZ atleast and the zero crown is also 2JZ swapped. The 2JZ and 1.5JZ really take the advantage in D1. and all these cars have 700HP+
