  • Such an awesome song :P

  • Love, love, love. :)

  • Penn has written soundtracks for films starring Burt Reynolds, John C. Reilly, Julianne Moore, and a laundry list of others. His albums are strongly admired by the music community for their lyrical content and stylistic skill. I'm sure any studio musician in Nashville that is accomplished has played with some of the greats, but at the end of the day, most folks do not know (nor care) who studio musicians are - even if their musical prowess is superior. Penn is a fantastic writer.

  • I absolutely adore this live version. The album version is OK, but sounds extremely different. The keyboard and drums are stellar here, as well as his charming vocals. If only Mike had released "March Live," with "This & That: SNL Live version," I think it would of sold just a well as the original "March."

  • I wonder if Michael is a Hugo Chavez ass-sniffer, socialist nutbucket like his brother, Sean?!

  • @JoltinDjango i wonder if hes more famous than you? oh wait he is

  • @totaLybeetLeJuice Given that I've been a Nashville studio musician for 15 years now, and given that Michael Penn had 15 minutes of fame 20 years ago, I'd wager I'm as "famous" as he is. Try another insult, sir.

  • @JoltinDjango is your brother sean penn?

  • @JoltinDjango maybe if you moved to california you could get fame, prolly not though

  • @JoltinDjango This is a silly argument. Obviously he is more famous than you. I could randomly pick 1000 people across the country and at least 5-10% will probably know who he is, especially if I ask music fans. However, the only people who would know you are the artists you've worked with (maybe). 22,000 people that watched thios video know who he is, and they don't know you.

Nothing personal or any comment on each of you talents, just facts.

  • @JoltinDjango asshole... i would have used stonger language if your last name wasnt django....but you dont understand many things so u need to grow up a little read stuff... not just american propoganda and have an open mind regarding these kinds of stuff

  • March is absolutely to a song, just a FANTASTIC album! Michael's others are also great!

  • great song and a rockin performance.should have been a huge star

  • THANK YOU!!! I adore this! Watched it live back in the day! He's still brilliant!

  • Terrific song. Sure mom liked him best. Michael's somewhat sweeter, less abrasive and a guy will burn canyons till almost forever.

  • Michael Penn raised my music awareness a few octaves.

    Amazing musician,, cannot be denied.

A flaming star, night and day.

    Peace.

    Rock

  • This show aired two years before March was released, when his band was still called The Pull. Patrick Warren, the keyboardist, had been with Michael since the Doll Congress days.

  • I love these memories from the 80's.

  • This has always been my favorite song off "March". Penn deserves much more success than he's had.

  • Great writer and artist...Sadly overlooked for the most part.Deserves more Reocognition.

  • Icreible, this the first i did import in my life...gretting from chile, thank for upload this videos, thank again, god bless you

  • March is still a great album a classic must have!!!!!

  • Thank you, hayride, for posting. One of my fave songs ever.

  • Hey I didn't know Michael Penn was Sean's brother!!!!! lol I was a baby when Michael's music was released, so please give me a break lol

  • This is the first time I see Sean and Michael together. Back in the days, Sean always refused his brother´s help. No Myth is so far his best album right in the middle when pop was dying and alternative was raising. "No Myth" was one the the best songs in 1989 along with the Ocean Blue´s "Between something and nothing" and The Cure "Lullaby".

  • This is the first time I've seen them together, too. It's usually Sean and Chris.

  • I really like this song. He is a very talented person

  • Thanks for posting this!

Michael Penn is such a fantastic artist.
