  • THAT TONE <3

  • I love Kirk's solos!

  • :)))

  • Thanks for uploading, man! The first three albums kick ass seriously!

    3:16

  • @MetallicaShady83 I think because the drums are missing. There are too much low frequencies without the high cymbals etc.

  • Doe's chuck norris know that kirk hammett is better than him ?

  • Modern day pro tools recording sound like pure shite compared to this stuff.

  • Wow... you can really hear the cuts. No protools back in those days haha. I love it, great tone even by today's standards.

  • dam listen to that tone..fucking awesome

  • This is so epiiiic

  • 3:44 when the solo bends up, you can hear them hit the strings.

  • @VFVFCo68 Wow really? Hitting strings is the most common way to play the guitar I think.

  • @wogen20 epic comeback lol

  • Mustaine was kicked from metallica before any album recording. Its all hammet.

  • @WolverineTheDrummer Dave Co-Wrote RTL as you can hear a spider chord was put in the song

  • @SalazarTheElder Mustaine didn't "co-write" the song, Metallica just took a riff he had written and put it in the song. Same shit with Call of Ktulu.

At this point Mustaine already hated 'Tallica so much that any co-writing would have been impossible and they hadn't even thought of this song before Mustaine was kicked out.

  • holy fuck, that solo is a Harmony-fest

  • WOW

  • I sang all along

  • Jesus Christ...oh wait, I mean, Kirk Hammett...

  • @BADAMSBABE Haha exactly!

  • this solo is great and shit but ya know i hate on how it doesn't even sound like a guitar, in the solo kirk has so much like studio equipment that the guitar sounds fake, and it's irritating to play with this when your guitar sounds like a guitar and his sounds like some emulated shit....

  • @zzzhuh

You've got to be smarter than this. Everything he used in this solo can be used with an inexpensive digitech pedal. I heard some doubling, some reverb, probably some chorus, and the use of an octaver. All of which are extremely common effects guitarists use.

  • @Daim0th idk maybe but there is a couple things that are fishy about it....

  • @zzzhuh double tracking and reverb my friend. its very commonly used as it makes a fuller sounding solo and also gives it a better sound. you can do the same if you have the right amp.

  • @zzzhuh kirk wasnt even in metallica in this album, this is dave mustaine

  • @MrSleep1980 Lol you are fucking kidding me..... Dave made up the riff to this song and the spider chord but not the solo nor the lyrics to this song. This was also recorded in late 83-84 while dave was kicked back in early 83. I wish people knew the facts before they posted this shit.

  • @zzzhuh i didnt say anything about lyrics or the solo,

i said kirk hammet wasnt in metallica when "ride the lightning" album was released

  • @MrSleep1980 Your a fucking idiot then cause ride the lightning was released in 84!!!! Kirk was in the band when kill em all was released go look it up on Wikipedia or any other document and you'll see dave never played on a album of Metallica.

  • @MrSleep1980 haha you fail

  • @MrSleep1980 How could this be Dave Mustaine? This solo isn't near aggressive enough to be a Dave Mustaine solo.

  • omggggg amazing soloooo

  • great solo! The best

  • METAL AT ITS MOST REFINED!!!!!!

  • I am in awe

  • The guitar was heavier here than in the demos

  • @ToaJoe mostly becuase in the demos they had there old marshalls with the KEA type mod/tone to it still.
