It's called the murder beam, she fires it once as she enters the room. There's no sprite for it and you have to fire it facing left or else the game crashes. It creates a column of damage that's pretty much only useful against mother brain, but she uses it to kill off ridley faster i guess.

And with that I mean from the last save to this it went from 28 to 38 mins in the game, but the two videos where about 9 and 7 something. Totally about 17 mins. I don't get it.

It's the murder beam. You just charge your beam, pause, equip the spazer and rest of the beams, then highlight speed booster and press left+A simultaneously. VAR will appear next to Plasma. This can lock up your game, though, so you have to be careful. You can't just fire it anywhere.

Just a basic super charge jump from the room containing the golden chorizo. Takes some timing to get down, and really doesn't save enough time to really worry about.

In a non- murder beam run would the Plasma Ray Trick save any actual time? I noticed it saved some time in redesigned cause the enemies are a bit stronger but do you reckon there are any uses for it in the original version?

I'm not quite sure what you are refering to with the 'Plasma Beam Trick'.  Do you mean the quick kill on Crocomire?

The plasma ray, where you highlight the xray scope and then charge a plasma beam shot, then just as the shot hits the enemy constantly activate and deactive the xray, each time the xray stops scanning the beam counts as a new hit thus saving time charging the beam over and over. This is really noticeable if you play the redesign by Drewseph as the enemies are stronger, for example it takes 6 charged plasma shots to kill a pink space pirate but if you use this trick you can kill them in one shot.

Hmm, I guess it might have some application on the last 2 bosses, I've never tried this out since Murder Beam is so much faster on Mother Brain. I'd say attempt it on say, Ridley, the Golden Torizo, and Mother Brain to see if it saves a good amount of time.

Acitivate the Spazar, move to the speed-booster icon and then press 'left and A' at the same time, this should glitch the plasma to also activate, shooting this when both are active will cause automatic crash. It should usually be charged before entering the menu, and only used on enemies on the left of the screen, i.e. Ridley or Mother Brain. Also try to get close to the enemy before doing it so no animation occurs when fired. Other uses of this can cause the reset game and death game glitch.

BTW, most computer emulated speed runs are still done by people, it's just played on the computer through the internet, Ive got one on mine.

Turning off screw attack is an attempt to gain a backward boost from running into the firefly after obtaining the energy tank, which can't be done with screw attack enabled.

And I suppose in the speed run, that's needed, but since I rarely do speed runs, I'd probably use the Screw Attack anyway, because I'm a Screw-Attack-aholic. I'm that KILL EVERYTHING IN SIGHT guy. Still, this game makes me want to download it onto the Wii once I get one. :|
