  • I had a burgandy 1988 Eagle Premier that I drove for 12 years before I sold it. I loved it. It was solid, safe, roomy, had an awesome 8 speaker sound system, had great pick-up on the highway and excellent miles per gal for the time. It looked like new when I sold it in 2000. The interior was exceptionally modern for the time. It rode like a dream and I loved it.

  • Did the Eagle have the automatic seat belts?

  • @Goldenrod636 yep, but in 89 not 88

  • I have never seen many of these cars personally, but I didnt know they had column shifters.... thats pretty cool.

  • Did they ever think of giving it alittle style to the body> God,how boring can you get?!

  • God theres car had no look or any design ... What hell happened to cars during this time..

  • Sir...the car sucks. I don't care what you are telling me.

  • @wendileona yeah my mom had this car and it was a piece of junk. we also had an 83 toyota cressida and that car lasted much longer than the premier and the cressida gave us no problems whatsoever. the build quality of the premier was junk.

    this video is very biased.

  • these were fantastic cars, I drive one every day and this is out third one!!!!

  • wow the 4 this car was a dragster lol

  • Thanks a bunch for posting all of these videos, awesome...More specifically, the Eagle Premiere is really interesting since it was kind of short lived and somewhat of an underdog.

  • I wonder what the oil consumption rating was?

  • lol laserdisc, i want a premier now, or a monaco, same thing i think

  • Noticed at the end that the video was a Laserdisc due to the rapid cycling through "pages". :)

  • My first car was a 1991 Premier. Unfortunately, the owner(s) before me used and abused the poor thing. :( It's too bad, because I bet it was a kick-ass car in its day. It had great breaks, according to my then-stepfather.

  • gooo cressida!

  • :'o *confused*

  • This was a good looking car, and they drove out very well. It's too bad Chrysler didn't do something to help this fine car. Sure, Renault had something to do with it, but SO WHAT? THIS WAS A BETTER DRIVING CAR THAN THE DODGE INTREPID, WHICH REPLACED THIS AND THE MONACO, A MORE SUBTLE VERSION OF THE PREMIER.

  • the dodge intrepid was an improved version of this car with more reliable american mechanicals.

  • I had 2 Eagle Premier, a 1988 and a 1991.

Unfortunately i had an accident with the 88, but i drive the other till 350 000 km.

    Very good car.

    Above the competition.

  • Love those old Eagles. They are so rare now!!

  • I drive a Eagle Vision in Germany, only 3 Registrations in Germany, the only Problem I have is I lost the Front Grill emblem (the eagle Head)

  • I owned a 94 Eagle Vision TSI. Then in 1996, I moved to Switzerland. I was shocked at how many I saw in Switzerland. The Swiss do buy more American Car per capita than any other Euro country. It was labeled as a Chrysler Vision in Switzerland.

  • is that a renault emblem on the cars? wow seems like they woulda at least had some with the Eagle emblem for the promo vid haha

  • A kid in high school had one of these, an '88. It's the only one I've ever seen on the road. Wonder why these things didn't sell worth poo. A total stab in the dark, but I'm assuming it was rather pricey compared to it's competitors It had the revolutionary, curvy Taurus to compete against and the budget friendly GMs like Celebrity and Corsica.

  • The biggest problem was these cars were TERRIBLE. The ventilation system was worthless, the engine was sluggish and the electrical system was prone to malfunctions. Many Chrysler dealers actually refused to service them. I had a lot of problems with my 1989 model. Chrylser would probably like for everyone to forget this car ever existed.

  • Sounds like a crap car. Well that explains it!

  • so you have something against Canadians? That's where this car was assembled.

  • I own one of these, and love the car but, I have to agree with you. Giugiaro over the years did do many cars that seem to be mis proportioned. Look at his Ghia Centurian Limo. It's very awkward looking. In this case, the car was basically a Renault 25. AMC had a contest between Richard Teague and Giugiaro. Teague lost, Giugiaro won. The dash is the only part that was designed by Teague.

  • I have never heard that this was an Lh platform. I also can't remember when the last time I saw one of these on the road. Maybe if Renault had introduced this in america in 84 it might have had a chance.

  • It wasn't an LH plateform but the LH plateform is based off of this. That was the new name that Chrysler applied to the plateform once they took over AMC and continued to develope it. A lot of things might have been different if REnaualt had Let AMC be the car company it was and assist with development rather than trying to use AMC to sell Renalt and discard a us brand.

  • Eagle Premere/Renalut Medalion. Its funny how the photo car has Renault emblems on it.

  • Yeah, I remember when the Renault Medallion was "reintroduced" as the Eagle MEdallion.

It didn't work then.....I wonder if the Ford 500 now Ford Taurus will fare better?

  • Is this what they show in car salesman school?

  • A ;reworked Renault 35 for the USA Market

  • so... what is that? a renault?
