Note his lead out man often gapping the riders behind. Literally riding them off his wheel. I was groveling on a guys wheel yesterday, INTO a strong wind (!), just hoping he would slow down. And I was thinking, remember this, this is how hard cycling is. it's not all the glory of stomping them into the dust 150 metres from the line. you've got to get there first, and that's often where the sprinters suffer.

show me ONE sprint where it's even close. think of past tdf sprints - several sprinters within 30cm and photo finish. No need for a camera with Cav. he's got a few metres, every time. he is the best sprinter of all time no question. sucks to be another sprinter right now with cav in the bunch. Stage 19 finally made me a believer in Cav. I'm still trying to figure out why he's so fast! He doesn't appear to be as athletic as most sprinters. But the kid is amazing!

By far the fastest sprinter in the peloton atm. Probably only the dopehead Petacchi that can match him for pure pace. Hushovd has never been a fast sprinter, but will always collect a fair amount of points in the hilly stages because of his strenght. It's not necessarily the best sprinter that wins the green jersey, but the one that collects the most points througout Tour. And last year that was the thundergod:)

They can, Thor hushovd being his hardest opponent had no team to relay on in the sprints on tour de france 09, thats why he decided to go for a few hills to get those bonus points for green jersey. As for the sprints, Thor usually ends up being only a few inches behind, not a whole bike lenght, and its a shame hes always on cavs wheel cause its almost impossible to burst infront when holding cavs wheel, its true u get that small boost, but as soon as your out on the side u get a wind shock.

I think Cav will win the sprints jersey next year.

Point 1: Thor said that he might drop the next TDF and focus on the WC.

Point 2: He is faster that Hushovd but also lighter. Think of it, Thor is by wikipedia 83 kg and Mark is 69 kg, I'm not sure if that counts that much but if they have the same strenght in their legs then Cav will always be faster.

And Cav even says that if he needed his team to win, Thor had to do it all by himself, since Cervelo put their efforts in Sastre.
