I may be 30 years old,but the magic of christmas is still with me.I got engaged 2 weeks,I have a 5 month old niece and a 3 year old nephew.you can't say that its gone.it lives thru you. you have to make it what you want.to me its not about religion.its about seeing the magic and living through our childrens eyes.its about being with family and not taking it for granted.

Now, I BAKE sugar cookies as MY family and I gather around to watch this "old school" Christmas special.
Back in these good old days, children learned about Jesus and Christmas, but cartoons now suck so bad, there is no morals and no lessons to be learned..

She would bring me some hot chocolate with Marshmellows and some Graham Crackers and I would watch this and Rudolph (with baby New Year) and fall off to sleep. I slept EVERY Christmas Eve in my mom's bed. Now Im an adult and she's suffering w/lung cancer. I would give ANYTHING to go back to these days once more!!!

I saw this for the first time in years, it's funny how the first thing that caught my attention was the fact that "The Word" was spoken so freely here. I thought back to when I first saw this back in 1965 and every year for many years thereafter, no media spasm. Like it would be now, for all the problems of the world back then(Cold War, Nam, Civil Rights Movement etc.) we as a society were still better off, or at best we felt like it.

@Spongefreak89 We had one of those silver artificial trees when I was young that had those color wheels that would change the tree four different colors. Yeah, its different but a change. Back to a artificial green tree now :-)
So simple yet so brilliant. how can you not love it. for so many of us the childhood memories this brings back. When it was on only once a year I had to make sure I was in front of that tv. Miss it and have to wait a whole year again to see it. It still evokes so much emotion and memories of a time that was so much simpler. what a great time to grow up!

0.24 I planted a tree like that in my front yard...a $14.99 Norfolk Pine...I think the neighbors laughed at me like 2:04...it grew and grew and now it's gorgeous! I left it in God's hands, and he took care of the rest...smiles...Merry Christmas, Love and Peace.

Pause at 6:18, the girl behind Pig Pen shows right thru his body! I remembered this from the first time I saw it, and told everyone the next year to watch for it because I wanted to make sure I wasn't just seeing things... Of course that was way before the days of having your own vhs or dvd copy, or watching it on youtube...

Ok who would want a different colored christmas tree? I can understand getting an artificial tree as long a it green. I mean a christmas tree that isn't green is crazy. Who would want that?

@Spongefreak89 We had one of those silver artificial trees when I was young that had those color wheels that would change the tree four different colors. Yeah, its different but a change. Back to a artificial green tree now :-)

So simple yet so brilliant. how can you not love it. for so many of us the childhood memories this brings back. When it was on only once a year I had to make sure I was in front of that tv. Miss it and have to wait a whole year again to see it. It still evokes so much emotion and memories of a time that was so much simpler. what a great time to grow up!
